Dr Wayne Goldstein is an excellent skilled surgeon. He is very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. I put my complete trust in him having needed several surgeries with complete success.

I had both hips replaced in 2001. Now I’m getting a knee replacement. The hips are still going strong, hopefully my knee will have the same longevity.

Dr. Goldstein is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. Eight years ago I had a hip replacement surgery. I feel great. I visit him yearly for check ups. One of a kind person. I strongly recommend him.

Not a Real Good Way to Go Into Retirement. For such a reputation, you would think he would would go into retirement honorably and not weak and disappointing. My experience with this physician was quite poor. I had a very complicated knee that required prompt attention before I became permanently disabled. This physician backed out of the surgery 4 days before the surgery once he began to review my history more extensively and realized I was complicated. Who puts a patient through that torment? I realize a physician can choose and decline patients, but if he took the time to learn more about me, this wouldn’t have happened. And to cap it off, he wouldn’t call me himself, someone else did it. Maybe He waited much too long to retire. Sickening. While your needs may be less complicated, do you really want a surgeon who no longer trusts his skills and abilities? Not a Real Good Way to Go Into Retirement. Horrible surgeon!!!! He destroyed my mom's knee and her life!!!!!

I cannot say enough about Dr Goldstein. He replaced both my knees and hips going back to 2001. They are still all going strong. He has a wonderful bedside manner and easy to talk to.

I see 3 doctors @ 2923 S. California Ave location. Dr. Batra for pain; Dr. Fisher for spine & Dr Ackerman for orthopedics. I Highly recommend Dr Ackerman as not only is he Blessed with good hands & skill BUT is compassionate. I have said he reminds me of an OLD Fashioned Doctor because he himself returns calls & messages. He does NOT leave it to a PA or NP. I have already recommended 3 people to him. He is definitely an assest to the practice. I have also seen another pain doctor, Dr. Adam Young in past who I believe recently joined the practice in Morton's Grove. He too is a fine physician. Felt comfortable, understanding the situation, staff was great.

This is the review you've been waiting for. It was almost sixteen years ago that Dr. Goldstein did a double (Full) knee replacement on the same day. A few weeks of working through the healing pain and done. Not one issue since. By the way I was horribly bow legged. He took that out. I grew one half inch with straight legs. I received bilateral knee replacements from Dr Goldstein over 10 years ago. After my replacements, I am able to play tennis regularly and I also summited Mt Kilimanjaro. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr Goldstein or Illinois Bone & Joint! The entire team is professional, kind, empathetic, and caring. Amazing experience overall. Nothing but pure professionalism from the very first contact to the last instance. Dr Goldstein is not just good doctor but a very nice human being due to the personalized touch he adds to the treatment.

I'm so happy I met Dr. Wayne Goldstein. He is very friendly and accommodating. He is a great ortho doctor. Very knowledgable and answered all my concern about my muscle and knee pain.The Joint & Bone Institute needs to have doctors like him. E. Natividad, PhD

I experienced the same issue as another reviewer. I did not experience the dislocation . But I did experience the " poor placement " which means the poor judgement in selecting the hip joint Offset . Which causes the glutes in that leg to not fire . The Glutes are to walking , as the tongue is to talking. After many years of pain, and eventually unable to walk for ten months. Recently found a surgeon ,who made the offset correction. After 6 weeks this cured the 1/2""structurally shortened leg and incredibly corrected the muscular shortening on the same side., for a total of 1.5 inches . This sould never happen , dont let it happen to you. There are many excellent surgeons, and some not so excellent. Warning , be very careful in selecting your surgeon. Also ask your doctor , are you doing the actual surgery, or someone else.

Dr. Goldstein performed a total hip replacement on me 23 years ago. I was in terrible pain prior to surgery and have had no pain or problems since my surgery. Unfortunately, now I am having problems with both of my knees and I will certainly be making an appointment to see him again. The wait time is long in the office, but his confidence in what he is doing is worth every minute of waiting.

I have had both of my hips done by this wonderful doctor with no problems. He was professional and friendly. There were alot of things to be conscious of right after surgery but by paying attention to them everything healed as it should. I like that he has his own dedicated surgical staff too. This man made my life active and pain free!

Surgery with Dr. Goldstein was the worst thing that happened to me in my life. My hip dislocated 4 times afterwards, and he blamed me and my physical therapist. The reality was that not only did he make one leg shorter than the other, he placed the hip incorrectly so that my glutes no longer could function correctly and that the hip was also was unstable (therefore would dislocate). His arrogance and lack of concern still leaves me in shock. Go anywhere else but to see him.
