Terrible experience with Dr. Hamilton. I think he rushes through surgery and is not particularly concerned about placement of the joint. Chronic pain after he replaced my hip and multiple follow-up surgeries to try to fix it - the problem is surgeons have one opportunity to get it right, revisions are more complicated and with more risks. I would recommend that prospective patients go to someone more caring or your life could be turned upside down like mine was.

Dr Hamilton replaced my right hip 9 years ago then my right knee on 1/06/2022 and then my left hip in 11/2022. Everything was an absolutely perfect.

I am 52 and had an anterior left hip arthroplasty. Things could not possibly have gone better. I limped into the surgery center, walked out with no pain and walked into my home. I never used a cane, crutch or walker. I played tennis 2 weeks after surgery (doubles). I have no idea why people wait to get out of pain. Dr. Hamilton is the best in the business and Anderson is the only place to get joint replacement. Thank you. Sincerely, dude with no more pain!

Dr Hamilton explained the options and benefits of each option. I have both knees partially replaced and Had fantastic results. I was walking without a can the day after the surgery. The staff at the hospital and office were all great - I would recommend Dr Hamilton and his care team to anyone needing knee replacement surgery.

My experience with Dr. Hamilton was excellent. My expectations were exceeded at every turn. The day of surgery went very smoothly, with me walking out of the center (on a walker) at 10 am after a 6:30 procedure. I was home and comfortable by 10:15. Bill was attentive and transparent throughout the process. Would highly recommend.

I was totally satisfied with the complete experience from my initial visit with Dr. Hamilton through the procedure. Surgery was at 11:00 am on January 20th and I was home by 3:30 pm. Exercises were great and I was able to do them at home. Anderson Clinic is number one in my experience.

Dr. Hamilton did a revision replacement on a knee that the component that was done less than two years ago (actually always knew there was something wrong from almost the beginning but was severe after only 14 months.) This knee revision replacement has changed my life, I am now mobile again and doing all the things I love, and its only been four months. I had my right hip replaced on April 12th, 2022, surgery was at 9:15 and I was in my own home having lunch at 2 PM. Even I was amazed! My experience was wonderful from the moment that I arrived at the Anderson Clinic until my discharge a few hours later. I was treated with respect, dignity, and competency. I would recommend Dr Hamilton without any hesitation for anyone needing a hip replacement. Of note I am an internist, and had been referring patients to Dr Hamilton for years, but had never needed his services until now. I had an anterior hip replacement. I was back at my art gallery in just over a week! I was suspicious about the FORCE app which gave me exercises to do at home, but I did them faithfully. It was outpatient in the middle of a snowstorm, and I was determined to come out on top. But I really thought I would take longer to heal. The actual day of surgery was flawless and Dr. Hamilton, his staff and the hospital staff were helpful, respectful, and above all extremely competent and professional. I would (and have) highly recommend him to change your life for the better. I am PAIN FREE and it's has been many years since I could say that. Anderson Clinic and Dr. Hamilton rock!

While my first hip replacement was excellent, the second one had issues from the start. It first started when I was not permitted PT and instead, was given an ap to do... one of the exercises was contraindicated in an anterior approach (hip extension) as I could have dislocated the hip. When I contacted the ap help messaging about a clunking I heard and felt in the new hip, I was told that was normal for "knee" replacements by the fellow who worked with Dr Hamilton. Two follow ups later, when I had pain and couldn't flex or raise my leg, no help was suggested. At the yr mark I was worse and he told me 4% have this complication but he did not deal with that, I could try a shot and then he couldn't help me. I understand complications can happen but to brushed off 4 times was unconscionable. I am now consulting with new surgeons to offer me some kind of relief and restored function.

I have had two joint replacements done by Dr. William Hamilton and I believe he is an excellent surgeon. I recommend him and the other doctors at the Anderson Clinic to anyone considering Orthopaedic surgery. I also appreciate having the Lorton office- it’s convenient to my neighborhood and has great parking.

I have Dr Hamilton do both knees , 11 years apart, both were successful. The latest was actually easy, walking and functioning w little pain, the hardest part is working on the vend and doing stairs. Great staff, they are efficient and prompt. The force, text and email info on process exercise etc is very good.

Abysmal outcome from my hip replacement. Greatly regret my decision. Had a follow-up surgery with another surgeon 15 months after Hamilton replaced my hip.

One of the worst decisions I ever made was letting this guy operate on me.

I have been going to the Anderson Clinic since 2007. Dr Hamilton has been awesome. He has replaced most of my joints from the waist down. I tell my friends, that he is the reason I can move. I had a hip replacement with Dr. Hamilton on November 9th, 2021. The results have been excellent. I had little post-op pain, and never needed narcotics; over the counter pain medication was the strongest medication I used. I believe that is because he is an expert on the anterior approach to the surgery. I never had to use a walker. I went straight to a cane, and stopped using that within 6 weeks. I got excellent pre-op and post op care, both from his nurse assistant and from the post op instructions, which guided me through physical therapy exercises, which I did on my own at home. Altogether, both Dr. Hamilton and the Anderson clinic were excellent. I had to drive from Maryland to the clinic and Mt Vernon hospital, but it was well worth the trip. I worked in healthcare myself, and I believe that practice makes perfect; the Anderson clinic specializes in joint replacement, and certainly is very good at hip replacement.

Dr. Hamilton replaced my hip in 2013 and my knee in January 2022. Both were performed to perfection. Recovery was swift. He is a caring and attentive doctor whose follow up with personal phone calls made me so confident and at ease. Not to mention the efforts of his phenomenal staff. I can’t imagine there is a better orthopedic surgeon and team anywhere in the world.

I am a former patient who returned to see Dr Hamilton regarding an additional surgery. I have been very pleased with Dr Hamilton and am very fortunate to be in his care, once again.

Dr. Hamilton is a rock star. He replaced my left knee and the healing, reduction of pain, and increase in strength have been smooth and steady due to his skill and procedures. I did everything he said and the results were above my expectations. We scheduled a date in April to replace the right knee. If it goes as well as the left, I may be young again by fall. My only complaint was that his nurse liaison was not as thoughtful or helpful as I would have liked. All other Anderson professionals including the physician’s assistant, nurse, fellow etc., were first rate. I also liked the FORCE app that guided me through pre and post op times. I stayed at the INOVA rehab center a couple weeks after surgery and still needed to hire a caregiver at home for a couple more weeks because I am old, obese, live alone, and have another bad knee. Recovery was not as fast as advertised, but it was steady and not unpleasant because I had a skilled surgeon and an outstanding care team. As an added bonus in a surgeon, Dr. Hamilton has a pleasant and caring personality and was able to recall the details of my case. I have already recommended Anderson to many friends. We are lucky to have such a world class facility in our area. Dr. Hamilton is a rock star. I had a hip replacement 10 years ago with Dr Hamilton and it has worked out wonderfully. Six weeks ago I had a partial knee replacement surgery with Dr. Hamilton and I could not be happier with the results. Dr Hamilton is a caring attentive doctor. His staff is friendly and professional. I am so happy that I have had such a fine doctor preform my surgeries

The experience with Dr Hamilton was excellent, but the recovery from surgery was harder than I expected. Having said that most of the recovery is on the patient (i.e., me) and I chose to minimize taking the pain pills for a variety of personal reasons. Bottom line: if I need my other knee replaced I'll go to Dr Hamilton, but I'll have a better idea what to expect during recovery.

you won't find better care, treatment or staff than Anderson clinic. if you have orthopedic needs this is the place to go. they really focus on the patient and treat each person as an individual. terrific follow-up and always available for questions or concerns.

Best doctor and office I have ever been to and I am 67 yrs old. I was absolutely terrified of having knee replacement surgery because 20 years ago I had back surgery with a different practice and hospital and it did not go well. On the day I arrived for my knee replacement surgery the entire staff made me feel comfortable and very well cared for. Before my knee replacement I had to walk with a cane and was having extreme pain. I am now cane free and 95% pain free and it has only been 4 months since my surgery. Excellent surgeon and person. Great bedside manner, clearly cares about his patients. I had a full hip surgery in May of 2020; going back in November 2020 for the other one. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Hamilton.

I have been seeing Dr Hamilton since 2007. He has done both my hip replacements. 2 partial knee replacements and 1 total knee replacement. They all worked out beautifully and he has kept me “together “ and in working shape for almost 15 years. He is the best. I have referred a dozen people to Dr Hamilton and they all have been very pleased.

The best! Did both my hip replacements.. One first one perfect Second on left side left with some permanent numbness on the left side have to get use to it but part of possible side effects of surgery and netve damage I guess Other wise the best thing I could have done. Pain free for almost 10 years. Staff is wonderful too Dr answers all your questions and takes his time with never felt rushed out. Recommended 2 friends who all feel the same. The best!

Had anterior hip replacement 2 weeks ago with Dr. Hamilton at Harborside Surgical Center as an outpatient. Recovery has been amazingly fast, pain free, with virtually no swelling or bruising. Dr, Hamilton did an incredible job and I will not hesitate to have him replace my other hip when the time comes.

Dr. Hamilton likes to use the anterior approach with his hip operations. This is a tricky procedure, and it did not work well with my hip. I now have terrible groin pain and cannot lift my leg to get into the car.

Both my anterior hip joint replacements had excellent post op results both in the short and long term. The Mt Vernon Hospital experience was excellent. ??

Dr. William “Bill” Hamilton is AMAZING! I am almost 4 years post-op, from my (anterior-approach) hip replacement surgery and doing very well. Whenever I come across someone that has been putting off their surgery I encourage them to reach out to Dr H. Due to having legg-calve perthes disease, I had my hip replaced at age 28. My only regret is that I did not have it done sooner. For those dreading surgery, please know that Dr H will use the best technology available to get you great results.

I had a total hip arthroplasty done by Dr. Hamilton last year. He used anterior approach and ceramic on ceramic material. Everything went absolutely perfect, I went into surgery at 9am and I was home by 5pm. Today, 6 months later I'm completely pain free and enjoying my life again. Thank you Dr. Hamilton!

Eighteen months ago I saw Dr. Hamilton after enduring extreme knee pain with an artificial knee that was twelve years old. Before he even did an examination he said I needed a total revision. Revision is a major surgery with no guarantee of outcome and up to a year recovery. Decided to try a neurostimulator for pain management, it was implanted 8 mos.ago. Pain totally gone, he never suggested this, only major surgery. Get 2nd opinions before using him for surgery that is his focus
