I have had a Lipoma growing on my back for 7 years and it was tested as non-cancerous! when it grew to 4" I was done with the discomfort and made an appointment to have it removed. Dr. Kitterel scheduled me in at the soonest availability, and two weeks later I was checked in at the surgery center and awakened minus the bump :) I have to say that the whole experience was wonderful! every nurse, doctors, etc. was wonderful, polite, caring I almost wanted to move in :)

Have fun paying however much $ and get no help. Your family dr can sit down and tell you to lose weight and eat better, dont waste your time here.

Dr. Kittrell and his entire medical staff was courteous, competent, compassionate and caring.

Dr. Kittrell is nice & down to earth, but my sister's colon is FOS and they want her to have surgery at the end of Nov. She hasn't had a good bowel movement in 3 months. She went to ER last night being in so much pain and instead of keeping her and doing surgery today which is one of his surgery says, they sent her home. Not very pleased with Dr. Kittrell right now. I would highly recommend Dr. Kittrell for any surgical procedure. I presented to the ED back in February with a perforated colon and he immediately took me into surgery, needing a temporary colostomy to allow time for my body to heal with the plan to ultimately 'put things back together' at some point. The colostomy surgery went extremely well and just 12 weeks later I had my takedown procedure done by Dr. Kittrell to return normal body function/anatomy. I was worried the second surgery would be followed by a long recovery time but I honestly felt well enough to leave the hospital just 2 days after the procedure (I did have to stay a few days longer for monitoring). Now that I am home the soreness is minimal and everything is healing nicely. He is a highly skilled surgeon and I am thankful that he was there to take care of me during a very difficult time. Very friendly and courteous staff as well. I would highly recommend Dr. Kittrell for any surgical procedure. Unlike many of the Doctors we saw during a surgical visit to Lynchburg General, Dr. Kittrell actually took the time to shake hands, listen to and ANSWER the questions we had, and even after surgery, he sat down and spent the time to let us know what was going on. In this day and age, someone that cares about their patients and doesn't just see them as a paycheck goes a LONG ways. If the need arises again, he's the only surgeon that I'd feel comfortable deal with, because he takes the time to stand in the patients shoes, so to say.
