Mr. William Raymond Mckay

Me and husband were not a fan of Dr. McKay. We had a lot of questions unanswered and he was very vague. He only looked at one X-ray and didn’t bother looking at the most crucial one by meniscus. He seemed very rushed and we literally saw him less than 5min. On the other hand, his assistant Kathy was very professional and returned my phone calls at a timely fashion, and she manages a very busy office on her own. A Rep. came in to sell me a huge knee brace (unloader) as an ONLY option. I was hoping to get a knee compression and wasn’t offered crutches or cane. I thought of it afterwards. I guess I will buy my own at a pharmacy. Very disappointed and horrible experience given the reputable hospital. It’s very disheartening especially when you get hurt/sick. My leg is swollen and I can not walk, I can not work and can not feed my kids .I did MRI and paid cash for getting Cd record faster after that I tried to make an appointment with Dr. McKay. As a new patient I tried to make an appointment with Dr. McKay. A woman by the name of Cathy was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. After hearing her dismissive response I decided to go to another office and write this review. If you are looking for a professional environment this is NOT the place for you!

I can't even tell you about the doctor because the office staff is so inept, uncaring, and rude. After being hit by a car I was referred by the ER for follow up and because of scheduling issues got sent to Dr. McKay. After waiting a week for an appointment, because it was a car accident and because it was my foot, the receptionist said that Dr. McKay will not see me. She then said that some other doctor's office will call me but didn't know when. Finally, as I was getting ready to leave she said, "You don't even have a fracture so it is not an emergency", but based on the CT Scan from the ER, I do have a fracture. This is truly the WORST customer service I have encountered in a very long time and it shows that there is no caring or compassion from Dr. McKay and his team. Dr. McKay and his staff ( Valerie) were amazing. Prompt, knowledgeable and just plain nice people. I felt well taken care of and would happily recommend him should you need orthopedic care!

Dr. McKay & his surgical co-ordinator Valerie are the best! Had total knee replacement 6 wks ago. They made the entire experience so easy from pre-op, surgery, therapy & all the insurance paperwork. I need the other knee replaced soon & wouldn't think of going to anyone else!

Horrible service and unprofessional staff. I was referred to Dr McKay by family because of swelling in my knee. I mentioned that I had an infection about a month prior to the swelling and the staff told me to call back on June 9th to make an appointment because Dr mckay was going on vacation. I call back on June 11 and today they deny me an appointment because they say I have an infection without even seeing me. Don't waste your time, there are better Ortho Drs out there that will see all patients irregardless of their condition. Horrible service and unprofessional staff. I have been seeing Dr. McKay for 8 years for Supartz injections in my knees. He is the only doctor ever who gives what is normally a painful shot and gives it painlessly. A truly amazing task! His bedside manner is pure perfection. He is very knowledgeable with a sense of humor along with a sincere concern and kindness for his patients. He is on my list of top doctors. I wish there were more doctors like him in New York where i live most of the year.

Did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it. I had my knee replaced and did a week long trade show, in Las Vegas, 44 days later. I was in my mid 50's at the time.

Dr. McKay was extremely professional, efficient, and competent. He listened to my symptoms, reviewed the x-ray of the knee with me, and gave a treatment that soothed the pain. I would definitely recommend him.

Dr. McKay and staff are very professional and great! After a total hip replacement in 2018 he and staff arranged, I was greatly pleased with the results and blessed he is taken care of the other hip this year. They are very knowledgeable and take the time with you to explain any concerns, questions or problems you might have. Dr. McKay is an excellent doctor. He is not only knowledgeable, professional, and thorough, but he also has a good sense of humor and/or bedside manner. This is important, as you feel like you're treated like a human and not just another patient. I highly recommend.

Great doctor. Did excellent job on my hip replacement. Nice to talk to. Doesn't talk down to you like a lot of doctors. Highly recommend.

Dr. McKay is a wonderful man/doctor who takes his time with patients and explains everything. I live down in Hollywood but it’s worth the drive to see him in Boca. I wish more doctors were as kind and caring as he is.

DR.MCKAY'S OFFICE IS A JOKE, THE RECEPIONIST DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO HELP MY HUSBAND WITH MAKING AN APPOINTMENT,HER NAME IS (KATHY)MY HUSBAND GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT AND HE NEEDED HIS KNEE REPAIRED AND SHE SAID YOU NEED TO SEND ME HIS RECORDS AND SEE IF THE DR. EVEN WANTS TO TAKE HIS CASE AND WHEN HE DECLINED I ASKED WHY AND THEY HAD NO ANSWER FOR ME AND WHEN I ASKED TO LEAVE MY NUMBER SHE SAID THE DR. DOESN'T RETURN ANY PATIENTS PHONE CALLS AND WAS REAL UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!NEVER EVEN MEET THE DR.

Dr. McKay repaired my torn rotator cup (shoulder) in March of 2016 and two weeks ago did a total knee replacement of my left knee (was down to bone on bone plus necroses and a lot of pain). We had exercised all my options prior to surgery and Dr. McKay is always upfront about the entire process - he is amazing as a surgeon, but he seems to be able to predict outcome and even side effects you might not think about. Dr. McKay's care was and is outstanding - he even calls you back -himself!
