Dr. William C Rees

This was an excellent practice when we first began with it. Since the Covid 19 lockdowns, they turned over most of their staff. Their new staff is abysmal. A particular young lady and office receptionist is extremely unprofessional, incompetent and downright juvenile. She makes the entire practice worth avoiding, which it should. Dr. Rees is a competent and good doctor. It's a shame this young lady - and their office staff writ large - is so unprofessional and unresponsive. Their Covid restrictions are as ridiculous and cumbersome as they are unnecessary: patients are forced to call from their cars upon arrival, waiting up to 10 minutes before any will answer, waiting further to be called in for appointment. This practice ought to be reported to Virginia Health Department. Dr. Rees - remove this young lady and your office staff and you may survive the avalanche of poor feedback your practice is getting because of them.

This was the last straw, and the 50 negative reviews speak for themselves, check the "filtered reviews" and their Google Reviews. I would like to just take a moment and say that a "pediatrician" should not be allowed to operate after so many complains. We've been coming here for 8 years and this past week we were literally attacked by the front desk staff. One of them slammed the door on my son while cursing and luckily I was able to block it before she hit him in the face. We came in because my son had a potential finger fracture, they made us schedule an appointment and wait 45 minutes outside. Later I saw a nurse asking a family that just recently arrived to follow her inside. I asked the nurse how much longer we'd have to wait and found out the front desk cancelled out of spite. She said we "missed" out appointment and they were too busy to see him now! The doctor refused to talk to us and we were forced to file a complaint with the State board. This is unacceptable.

Beware of insurance processing mismanagement at this practice. (We had UHC, but another review here suggests a pattern) Both my sons went to this practice for over three years. Over a long period of this, they persistently misprocessed our regular visit claims, misunderstanding our insurance plan’s features, resulting in incorrect co-pays they insisted rudely on collection from my wife under the pressure of our sons not being seen, and never worked to correct the problem between visits. They eventually- only later- came to acknowledge they were in the wrong, dispassionately and without apology, and adjusted our account for several previously collected $25 co-pays they should NOT have taken in the first place. We had NOT had this problem with my sons’ previous PHC providers under the same plan, nor since we left! Their mother pulled them out from this practice over this obvious and flagrant insensitivity.
