Dr Poncin has assisted my family on more than one occasion, in more than one setting. He is definitely there to serve. You have to love a person who focuses on getting the job done, not wasting time worrying about whether or not it is their job to begin with. Yann Poncin is a model of professionalism with some of the best energy I have ever experienced. I was really struggling with my kids when we first encountered Dr Poncin, and, consequently was in such an ugly place. Working with Dr. Poncin was a turning point for all of us. I make it a rule to go only one town over for any sort of services, yet I would go out of state to work with Dr. Poncin. If you are looking for a genie who can magically make your problems disappear, with no effort on your part, go digging around in the Middle East somewhere. If you are looking for a caring, seasoned, professional who handles the most difficult situations with sensitivity and grace, choose Dr. Poncin. PS. Despite the other very negative review, Dr Poncin’s school evaluations are as carefully thought-out as everything else he does. He is not a psychologist, as that review states, so there may have been unmet expectations, based upon a misunderstanding. Although Dr. Poncin diagnosis on our child was well thought out and he was easy to work with, we found him to be feckless and act with questionable ethics in the way he interacted with us on the one hand and the school district on the other. Due to his shape shifting, we cannot in good faith recommend this psychologist to anyone and advise all to avoid his services. I have dealt with Dr. Poncin on multiple occasions for both of my children. He is a consummate professional, with a heightened sensitivity to the feelings of others. When he says "How can I help?" he actually means it.. This, his emotional maturity, flexibility, soothing demeanor, and refined social graces make him extremely easy to work with. He is saved from perfection by an endearing forgetfulness with names. He remembers everything else.
