Dr. Yoonho Chang

I had my teeth cleaned here which consisted of nothing more than flouride application, which was done by my hygienist with one hand, causing her to slip onto my gums and chin more than once with the tool. I ended up spending a total of 2 hours and 25 minutes here for a teeth "cleaning".

My wife and I moved to Yucca Valley recently and got new health insurance policies which included dental care. We both signed up for Dr. Chang's office. Not having dental on my previous insurance I needed a root canal, a filling, and some crowns. I am most pleased with Dr. Chang and his staff. They told me what I needed and why, didn't pressure me on the time schedule for the work I needed, and my appointments have been on time with little or no waiting. The staff is very professional but also very friendly. I would happily recommend Dr. Chang to anyone looking for a dentist in Yucca Valley.

Moved on to other dental services. Bed side manor and compassion are important.

Ron & I both are seeing Dr. Chang I have been to many Dentis and I have a fear. But Dr. Chang has been so good and good with out pain for the both of us . and the office staff . 5 star also

Everyone here is very nice and friendly...they made my 3 year old feel at ease when looking at his teeth and got him to open his mouth easily considering he's only 3...the Dentist is very gentle and makes it comfortable, we will be going to Dr.Chang from now on

I think this dental office is awesome . The staff is amazing and the drs are both great.Dr Chang was super nice and explained to me what he was going to do. The assistant was so nice and stayed with me the whole time. The office is nice and the atmosphere was very much family like. Thank you so much.

I am scared of the dentist and I have a very hard time going in at all. The dentist and staff talked me through it and made me very comfortable. They worked quickly while doing a great job on my fillings. My 5 kids all go here and we always have a great experience. This is the only dental office in town I will take my kids and myself. Every one was polite, every one knew their job. Every one there was helpful. I would recommend very highly.

He doesn't listen, I ask for one thing and he does something else hes in it just for the money

Awful! My mother had implants placed and the dentist literally yelled at her the whole time saying she is the worst patient. No patience, no tact.

Staff is nice and they are quick. Only down side is still waiting for approval through insurance 7 months now.

This must be a terrible dental office. For the front desk girl to be as rude as she was to my 86-year-old mother is unspeakable behavior. My mother called she was in pain and the girl told her they could see my mom in October. My mom tried to explain how much pain she was in and the girl just kept talking over her telling her that they could see her in October and if she wanted to be put on the list. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Chang’s office. Over the past two years I have had a lot of dental work done and spent a lot of time in their office. Dr. Chang does not have the best bedside manner, however, this does not mean he isn’t a wonderful dentist because he absolutely is. Michelle the office manager, is amazing!!! She gets me in when I need, works with my work schedule, coordinates with my insurance company and has even had to hold my hand a time or two. Rude made me wait 1 hour took x-ray couldn't help me sat in chair for almost 2 more hours told me it would be different if I made a appointment but I did last week walked out then they sent me a bill for stuff that wasn't done

I had to get new dentures they were 30 yrs old. I went to Hart got a hard time told me my ins didnt cover. Went here no problem. He is not real friendly but didnt go there to make a friend. He made my dentures, after a few visits, and I couldn't be happier. They fit perfectly, no sore spots or discomfort. Highly recommend.

I took my kids to dr changs office for there first check up. Dr Chang was so amazing. He was so gentle with my kids and explains everything he is doing. I can't say enough about him. I’ve been going to Dr Chang for approximately 1 year. I came in with very bad upper and lower front teeth. Dr Chang did root canals on ten of my teeth. He put in beautiful crowns on all ten and gave me an amazing smile! I love Dr Chang’s work. The capped teeth look very natural. You can’t even tell they’re caps. Michelle and the staff are wonderful. i haven't been to a dentist in years i'm terrified of them but i saw Dr kang first she was amazing and then i finished my treatment with Dr Chang himself. He is wonderful. The numbing wasn't bad he was so gentle I didn't feel a thing. The front desk girl didn't know what she was doing but aside from her the staff was great. The manager Michelle makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. She is truly genuinely caring for her patients. Her and Dr Chang are a great team... I definitely recommend this office. Unprofessional

My wife applied for a dental assistant / front desk here. She was told she would be getting a "working interview". She went to brightwood and then they close down on her right before she was doing her externships and they knew that, and we're relocating to twentynine palms from Banning California and our son still has go to daycare in banning and that's why we're looking for work in yucca valley. She was right down the street, she spent her last bit of money on Scrubs and gas for the working interview and the manager (Michelle) sent her a text message telling her that they went with somebody else. Completely unprofessional, rude not enough time advance. If you have someone else lined up for a job you shouldn't tell the other interviewee to go spend her last bit of money on Scrubs just to cancel the interview through a text message / call right when she gets there. When I called Michelle to complain about it she said well you guys said you lived in 29 palms and that 30 min. should be enough notice. I told her that we're still moving out there which is why we're finding work out in yucca and it takes 30 min. to drive from 29 palms to yucca anyway so she was driving and couldn't answer her phone. Michelle said "that doesn't make any sense, and it's my wife's fault she drove that far" completely rude and unprofessional I would not go here whatsoever. I would not support a business that treats its workers / applacants that way. Went to have work done here and was very hopeful. Unfortunately this is not the service I received. I had a question in regards to billing as I pay for insurance and noticed there were charges that were covered. First I tried to call and the lady on the phone just continually spoke over me not letting me explain the situation, until finally just hanging up on me. I am actually standing at the front desk of this office right now. As I'm standing here I can hear them speaking about me in the back with very derogatory remarks. I have been waiting for the front desk to come back to help me for almost 45 min. The customer service i am receiving is atrocious. I highly suggest checking with your insurance provider prior to visiting this location. If I could give a zero on the business I would. Worst dentist I have ever been to. If you do go to this dentist see changes partner dentist he is sooooo much better. Chang had me in a chair for 4 hrs for an extraction. Had my crying hysterically shacking so bad it was the worst experience of my life added the fact that he insulted me repeatedly in his native language and then had the nerve to ask what I had been taking. Won't ever go back there. My 12 year old came out crying after 2 extractions and some molar seals. He said the dentist was so mean ans kept yelling at him and that he was in a lot of pain. When I asked the receptionist what happened and what were the instructions for his extractions she said..hold on I'll get her for you..she came out crying so give her a minute. I asked, why is everyone crying?? My son was in pain from holding his mouth open and he said he felt the tooth be pulled. As tears rolled down his face the dentist never stopped to ask if he was okay or to make sure he was numb. The assistant had put something in his mouth to help it stay open but the dentist pulled it out and yelled at her so I'm guessing that why she was crying. If you desire a mouth of amalgam as opposed to white composite fillings, then this is the dentist office you ought to visit. An awful hideous muddle should never have been performed because I confirmed I was receiving the new standard of fillings prior to this failure. A complete and utter debacle. Additionally, I had just finished paying over $800.00 for a white crown! ..."Let's put metal in this dude's mouth along side work we just recently completed with porcelain." What type of dentist does this,(particularly after confirmation of composite material being used for my procedure) and why would any patient want this? I truly believe It's about $$. Receiving medicaid ought not preclude anyone from securing anything allowable within a dental plan. This dentist may very well be operating a racket because he refused to correct my problem and created more trouble than necessary to share with this review. The staff isn't sympathetic, and can be quite rude, too! The benefit is indeed yours by not allowing this appalling business of destroying any pride you receive for your effort & personal respect you put into keeping a high level of hygiene to care for your teeth~~! Rude and impersonal. Rash and hasty application of numbing cream before injection. Doesnt wait for numbing cream to activate. Injection immediately. Did not take my blood pressure. No chance to rinse after extraction and deep cleansing immediately.

After reading other reviews I was very reluctant but as a new patient they were able to get me in right away.. and with the pain I was in I went ahead and took my chances....I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! This place seemed newly remodeled and very nice and clean. Receptionist was very polite, hygienist were very gentle and nice. Dr. Lang was also great. He spent plenty of time explaining things and assuring I was comfortable, not once did he get frustrated in fact was very patient as I had several questions. I highly recommend this to everyone. After my first appointment, I knew that I could not recommend Dr. Yoonho Chang, DDS to anyone. He was rude, unprofessional, and unethical. After studying my X-Rays, Dr. Chang recommended some very expensive procedures, that I am confident, are not needed. My former dentist, whom I saw for several years, before moving to the California desert, never recommended these procedures. And, my last visit with my former dentist was just six months ago.

You would be better off going somewhere else honestly.

I got there right when they opened. Had to wait a bit for the dentist to arrive. Dental hygienist was very pleasant and gentle while taking a ton of x-rays. The dentist cleaned my teeth and did a brief exam.

Just a mean person that cares nothing about you, your pain or your health. Filthy office.

Dr. Chang was so rude, so rough. He started on numbing my mouth, then he did a filling, after that he walked away to help other people. He was gone nearly a half hour, when he came back to finish doing 3 teeth extracations the numbing had started wearing off, I said it hurt, then he slammed his tools down and grunted out of frustration, grabbed the needle with the numbing medicine and proceeded to numb my mouth again. Before the medicine could take affect he started ripping my teeth out, I made a sound of pain then he told me "you don't feel pain, I numb you" then he started on tooth number 2 I didn't feel as much pain but tooth number 3 a wisdom tooth I felt for sure. It hurt so bad I was screaming and tears were running down my face, he didn't care. I was shaking, trying to catch my breath. In a panic. He has wonderful, caring staff, but he was very temperamental with me and drove the anesthesia needle through my nose.
