My husband saw Dr Byrd for the first time yesterday. He was very personable, friendly and professional. Excellent bedside manner. He took the time to discuss what was going on, reviewed reports already obtained and then did a thorough exam. He administered an injection for bursitis but didn't stop there. He and his staff went above and beyond and got a CT scan approved and we were able to get it done the same day.. which we really appreciated.

Dr Byrd was very understanding. I was there for my right knee and he took the time to look at my left knee that I had replacement in 4 years ago by a different doctor.

Very thorough gave me all my options and is working well with me.

As always, they make you feel welcome and really understand. Then explain to you so you know what to expect thru out the event.

Dr. Byrd really took his time explaining my condition and going over my options moving forward. Very informative office visit. Thanks!

My husband had a partial knee replacement done by Dr. Byrd on January 20th, his recovery was no time at all. He was back to living and doing everything in about 4-5 weeks. Dr. Byrd is an amazing surgeon, and he really listens to everything you have to say and answers your questions or helps explain so you understand. If life challenges us going forward, we will definitely be calling for their help. Great Place to get back to living!

Didn't particularly like him, he gave his opinion without caring about mine I knew you weren't going to find anything by xray I already had xray I told the guy that xrayed me that, I thought maybe they were going to give me a mri or something to actually see the inside all he was interested in was the bone, he wanted me in and out fast. But it's fine ill find someone else that is interested in seeing what's actually wrong. With my knees.

I would recommend JIS to anyone needing a joint replacement. They are simply the best place to go. Dr. Byrd is so kind and so knowledgeable and they use a very innovative system of replacing your hip. I am doing quite well since my hip replacement. I have had some muscle problems that are not related to the surgery. He is having me do some further therapy to get these muscles strong again. I am 73 years old and really had a wonderful experience there. Thank you Dr. Byrd.

Absolutely the best experience with this facility and Dr.Byrd and his team. I really feel he took so much time explaining and giving his recommendations for my treatment .The appointment went so smoothly

In May and July 2022, they were done 6 weeks apart by Dr. Zackary Byrd. The surgeries were a success…I highly recommend Dr. Byrd! He is very professional with a friendly demeanor. The JIS office and staff is responsive and efficient. My surgeries were done at Mount Carmel New Albany. Everyone I had contact with up till and after surgery was professional, helpful, and informative. Physical Therapy at JIS was needed and well designed for my body. Dr Byrd was very patient and allowed me to ask several questions without making me feel like I was wasting his time or acting hurried. He was very professional.

I have both hips replaced at this wonderful Orthopedic practice along with an elbow reconstruction with a great PT group for follow up and they are tremendous group of physicians.

Very knowledgeable great explanation of what was wrong and how Dr: Byrd is going to fix the problem. Previous surgeries have been successful and the level of skill is impeccable.

I have been dealing with bad knees multiple surgeries and poor bedside manner since 2015! It was a breath of fresh air to sit down with Dr. Byrd and not be made to feel like I was crazy. We got to the problem and started with another fix. (I don't expect my knee to ever be perfect, but more functional would be a miracle!!) Thanks Dr. Byrd for listening to me and helping!! I'm impressed with the way my visit went with Dr. Byrd and how he answered one of my questions, I like a person with confidence, but yet still be humble

My mother was seen by Dr. Byrd this morning, and she did not have a pleasant experience. The staff was very nice. However, the physician did not have good bedside manner at all , a very nonchalant and dismissive attitude. He did not address her concerns. The pain and swelling in her knee has been severe and consistent for weeks now. We were so relieved when we were able to get her a sooner appointment with a specialist. She can barely get around the pain has been so bad. He simply brushed off the fact that she was in so much pain, told her that she was “fine” then got up and walked out of the exam room without saying ONE WORD. This is how JIS Orthopedics treats their patients …especially “new patients “this is completely unacceptable. First impressions are important …PATIENT CARE over PROFIT. Everyone at JIS is very friendly and professional. From start to finish both of my TKR was very smooth. Would definitely recommend

I just relocated to Columbus. Finally, was excited about establishing my new team of physicians. Upon arrival at the New Albany office, I was standing at the entrance window as I politely & patiently waited for the staff to stop discussing personal business about some guy who builds houses. After that, the lady at the registration desk was pleasant, as she did her job,…so things were good there. I was then I akenbin to -Ray about 10-15 minutes after, and the young lady who did that was great. Following that, the nurse who came in to take all the notes,.. she was pleasant as she did her part. After that, I was left sitting in the examining room for an hour or longer before the doctor came in. Once he came in, he looked nice in his suit, but was very vague about my concerns and asked if I felt like I needed a knee replacement? I looked toward the x-rays and then at him and said,… I don’t know? As the physician,.. what do you think,..& what do you suggest? Long story short, he really showed very little concern or compassion toward my situation, and then he and a different nurse who’d come into the room with him, just walked out and left me standing there, and went on into another patients room. They didn’t direct me out or tell me to check out, or anything. Common courtesy & Bedside manner needs improvement. I will seek another orthopedic physician. I just relocated to Columbus. Dr. Byrd was pleasant, personable, and easy to talk to. He gave ample time for questioning and explained in layman’s terms. He exhibited a sense of humor. Professional and knowledgeable!

I would highly recommend Dr. Zachary Byrd for doing a joint replacement. I had gone three years limping noticeably. As I was getting dressed after the hip replacement operation and after the drugs wore off, I was shocked that there was no pain or any discomfort. My balance improved significantly. I had a very professional experience from the moment I checked in. Dr. Byrd & staff were all very pleasant & thorough. I feel confident that I will get the proper care I need & finally find a solution to alleviate my knee pain.

my experiences at JIS have been excellent I had both my hips replaced last year with Dr Berenice first and Dr Byrd second with excellent outcomes I will soon have Dr Byrd replace my left knee

Dr.Byrd is very nice.He explained everything that was wrong with my knee in terms that I understood. He was not in a hurry he took the time and to listen to my concerns. When I have my knee done I will call his office and request Dr.Byrd for my surgeon.

Dr. Byrd was a bit long in getting to me. The first thing he did was apologize, but after experiencing the doctors care for me I could see why he was late in seeing me. He did a thorough exam and then spent time answering questions and explaining in detail issues I was having and how to possibly get around them. He also answered specific questions about a muscle in my knee,the VMO and how I can strengthen it. Dr. Byrd, is a very compassionate physician. He was very thorough going through my current and past medical history. He helped me weigh all the pros and cons of doing a full knee replacement with my current conditions. I would recommend him to anyone that needed a orthopedic surgeon!
