Dr. Aaron Joseph Burrows

I found Dr Burrows through Colonoscopyassist. He was great. I met with him briefly a couple weeks beforehand. The actual colonoscopy was easy, professional and painless. He called afterward and went over everything. And it was a fraction of what UCH wanted for the same procedure.

I never had problem communicating with him. He is up front. But more importantly after a ct scan, he called me and mom to get me to go to emergency room. He saved my life. He did this on a Saturday. I thank God for him.

Don't know why a lot of the reviews are not so great. He just goes about doing his job and them goes on to the next patient. Kind of what I expect from a doctor.

First and foremost, Dr. Burrows is a great doctor and extremely personable. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about his staff. I had an issue with the front-end several years ago and made the decision NOT to go back. However, I needed to be seen asap after an ER visit with a stay in the hospital. So, I reluctantly called to get an appointment where I was once again met with a rude and disrespectful staff member. Dr. Burrows is great, but his staff is one of the worst I have ever encountered!!!

Rude & arrogant to my 23 yr old daughter. Doesn't know how to treat people! Thinks he's above everyone! By the look at these reviews everyone agrees. Pick a professional, this one fails at that. Just awful!

A friend of mine visited Dr Aaron Burrows. She said that it was the worst experience that she's ever had at a doctors appointment. He was rude, insulting and degrading. He made her cry over what should have been a simple conversation. I have been seeing Dr Burrows for years. I drive 40 minutes to the office. He is very formal, and explains everything. I definitely would recommend him. Everyone in the office is always polite. Thank you Dr Burrows, and staff.

Apparently the fastest way to get a response from Dr. Burrows is to leave him a bad review. This is the first time I've heard from him even since calling his office. Worst Doctor ever. I spent 5 mins in his office and walked out I was so appalled by his lack of professionalism. How is he still practicing? The worst Dr. I have ever encountered. He has put my husband through four months of pain and suffering for nothing. First time I met him he was yelling at a nurse and complaining because he wanted to get to his Rockies game. If you want results, a doctor who cares about patients, or someone who treats nurses and staff properly DO NOT go to Dr. Burrows! I initially found Dr. Burrows because he was the only provider in network for me according to ZocDoc. When I came in, Dr. Burrows had a medical student initially examine me alone and then came in after to give recommendations. He is very blunt with his bedside manner and does not care much for small chat (the medical student had much better bedside manner than he did) but seemed to have a reasonable suggestion for follow up after I had also reviewed options with a second opinion. After I got an endoscopy by him given it's safe nature as a procedure I received no follow up call from him regarding my biopsies or blood-work/ultrasound results, and after a week of no follow ups from him or his staff (I was told by ultrasound technician and nurse that the endoscopy/ultrasound/blood results should have a turnaround time for 2-3 days) I called in to actively pursue the results of my test. I also inquired about 2 medical questions after the endoscopy and did not receive any feedback regarding either of them. I relied only on ZocDoc when booking my appointment so I had not checked the Google reviews and am surprised at how common a theme I found among my experience and theirs. I was also surprised how brash Dr. Burrow's responses to their posts were as well (PS, if you do write in response to this, please don't claim you never saw me as a patient or that I'm writing a fictitious review like you did to Keri S). I had a good experience, moved from out of stat and needed a new gastro dr quick. He was able to squeeze me in for my for my procedures right away

I had a colonoscopy. Dr. Burrows was great; on -time, informative and has a pleasant bedside manner. I was apprehensive and he and the team put me at ease. It all went well, Thank you.

One word horrible!! I had two colonoscopies with him he found nothing just diagnosed me with IBS. Blood tests that were taken he had the results the next day but it took him three weeks to give me the results this is coming from his receptionist. Final straw he ordered a CT scan for me of the lower abdomen I asked him through the patient portal if he could make it upper and lower abdomen(my pain was in the upper abdomen). One week later his receptionist called and said, "the doctor would like you to know if you think you're smarter than him feel free and go to college, get your medical degree and order whatever tests you need, if not go get the test he wants or find a new doctor." This was the best advice he ever gave. I found a new doctor unfortunately she diagnose Crohn's disease and found two abscesses but now I know what's wrong with me. My new doctor asked who I was seeing, I told her the whole story and she said not surprised I've heard this from other patients about him.

My daughter had an 11 am appt that we really needed new cause she is leaving town shortly. We arrived before her appt (delayed 15 min because the parking is impossible). There’s no way to fill out patient history online and we waited 5 min for her to give the iPad to fill out patient history only to be told 15 min later that because we hadn’t come 30 min early to fill out forms (they didn’t tell us how difficult the parking is which delayed us 15 min), the doctor wouldn’t see her. First off I would like to start off with saying I would like to take my one star back he doesn't even deserve a star I have never met a disrespectful non-caring doctor in my life like this one. I wish I have looked at the reviews before I went to this doctor my doctor referred me to this doctor I'm going to inform them that they should have sent any other patients that way I don't know how this man is still in business or even has his license. If somebody was going through depression are dealing with suicidal he will be a Cause of a mental breakdown. First I went in there and he really asked me why am I here then he asked me where is all my paperwork and why don't I know nothing from 2000 he didn't even bother to look at the paperwork prior to my appointment that my doctor sent him then when he had to look into it he had an attitude, then he seen that I was was a bit over weight and that my cholesterol was high on the test and fatty liver and he told me that I was fat and obesity and if I keep going this way I will die when I'm like 50 or 60, then he told me I must be one of those girls that care about my butt like Jennifer Lopez or Kim Kardashian and that's not realistic so it's either my butt or my health then when I told him I'm not even here for that and told him it's you I was here for that he said so I don't care I don't know the most unprofessional doctor I have ever met he was rushed me throughout the whole appointment then I went back late and I was only in there for 20 minutes and he told me I had to hurry up cuz he had people waiting out there. Never again will I speak to or recommend this Dr or office. They did not properly check my insurance before my procedure, leaving me with the full bill. He brushed my situation off several times, in the custultation and the post surgery. Making me wait 45 minutes just to get my results which took 5 minutes to explain. He talks way too fast and never gives any helpful advice. I basically got more information out of google than him. And I quote "It doesn't do any good to eat any differently than you have because it takes months to change, so don't worry about it." It took over two weeks to get my full results which I had to call them to request and it was in an email saying the same thing they told me in post surgery! They didn't even tell me the results of my biopsy, just my endoscopy!!! Or if I have siliac symptoms. It's like russian rullet with the front desk ladies wondering if you'll get the nice one or not. This office is horrible and the staff is very rude, unhelpful and most of the time doesn't even answer the phone. I've worked in healthcare for YEARS and have never seen an office operate this way. My partner's appointment has been rescheduled several times due to their lack of diligence on obtaining the information needed for him and they didn't even notified him of this, he had to call himself day of or show up for them to tell him they couldn't do anything. Needless to say a month down the road he has yet to find any relief in his issues. Dr. Burrows told him to take an OTC medication that literally has nothing to do with his symptoms. Great Doctor. I was referred by my GP who had the same procedure performed by Dr. Burrows. I highly recommend him.

My first contact was with Christy for scheduling and very helpful with getting the preparation from the pharmacy and following up several times. Dr. Burrows bedside manner was unexpected, very friendly! I was extremely nervous and he was quick to put my mind at ease and answer all my questions. Very personable. His team... I went to Dr Burrows for my screening colonoscopy and would recommend him to family and friends. Obviously, a screening colononoscopy is not something one enjoys doing but he and his staff did a good job and I would go to him again for the next one in 5 years.

Was asked to show up for my appointment 30 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Paperwork took 5 minutes tops. Then I sat there for another 30 minutes past my appointment time when I was finally shown into the office where Burrows was on his phone for an additional 2 minutes talking about how he “can’t live without air conditioning so someone better get out to fix it”. I was highly appalled by my visit with Dr. Burrows. He was the most unprofessional, disrespectful, impersonal doctor I've seen. He didn't even try and think about my case but assumed that he could not help me b/c of the complexity. He was fatalistic and told me I'd never get better and told me "Why even live?" because of my dietary restrictions. He was highly unprofessional and left a very negative impact on my mental health. Don't see this doctor if you want someone who cares about helping you.

Horrible, UNPROFESSIONAL and unpleasant doctor I have ever seen. Would never recommend such an unintelligent and uneducated person to anyone. SHAME on you!

Visited a few months back, but I held off on writing a review despite how angry I felt. It was such a bad experience, though, so I feel others should be forewarned before making a decision to go. I really wish I could get my money back. I've never had a doctor make me feel so unimportant and a waste of his time. He acted arrogant, and I'm really upset I wasted my hard earned money to have him treat me like I was dumb for making an appointment to his office for the pain I was having. He asked me why I was there, so I told him my symptoms. Then he said "No, I meant who told you to come see me?" I was a little confused but I said no one... I have been extremely sick and unable to eat for 3 days because of the pain. I told him how I explained to my sister about it, and she had very similar issues and went to see a gastroenterologist. My husband and I are patients of Dr. Burrow's. He has got a fantastic bedside manner and his staff is wonderful. He is very well educated in his field and we highly recommend him.

Would not recommend him to anyone. Disgusting, unprofessional and horrible behavioral. Instead of caring for his patients, he cares more about some appearance of a board in the waiting room.

I had seen him a few times before. I knew that he was short and rude but in the past we had a funny banter and laughed it off. I had seen his PA was really interested in learning more and great. I saw him again and What a complete jerk. Rude, arrogant and He doesn’t care at all. I’m trying to find out what is wrong -he said to deal with it. Horrible Dr. He could not get off his phone( he was texting) to speak to me. The colonoscopy was cut short because he did not order anesthesia and an anesthesiologist. His PA informed him in her report days prior to my procedure that I needed anesthesia. Dr. Burrows stopped the procedure, yelled at the nurses, and sent me down to the cat scan lab. He left. I was loopy from the sedative that was given to me, but they still had me sign release forms for the cscan procedure.BEWARE OF THIS Dr.!!!!!!!! This doctor didn't like the way my surgery was going so quit. Lucky for me another doctor was able to take over on another day and that doctor fixed the problem that seemed to perplex Burrows (I refuse to address his as doctor). Interestingly, when I finally got home - I heard nothing but negatives about him from other friends who had to deal with him. Each of us was an emergency situation, so not the easiest cases. but... DO NOT GO TO THIS (DOCTOR?)!!!!!!!! Dr. Burrows was the worst medical experience I've ever had. He is a very rude & arrogant man. I was told in the prep & procedure instructions that he'd be on site to discuss the results of my colonoscopy, but he'd already left facility when I woke. Leaving a nurse to tell me that I had CANCER, & that he'd call to discuss. I had to call his office twice before that happened. If I could give him negative #'s I would. He doesn't deserve the 1's.

WOW is all I can say. Rude, arrogant, kurt, cocky and could care less about his patients. I gave him a few chances and then read his reviews. I wish I had done it in reverse! Find another GI doc!!!

The arrogance in this office is so thick you can cut it. He had me talk to his students while he ate lunch with a drug rep then proceeded to tell me what wasn't wrong with me. Stay far far,away.

Waste of money. After cancelling on me twice, he told me absolutely nothing. "Get a colonoscopy, I have no idea what it is." I've had diarrhea with green flakes for a year straight and now I've got to find a new doc.

Both I and my son, Michael Hawk, are patients of Dr. Burrows. First, he treated and continues to treat, my son for short gut syndrome, symptoms of which severely limited his enjoyment of favorite foods and social outings. Michael is now free of that chronic limitation. Secondly, he treats my son, who has developmental disabilities, with kindness and respect, a quality greatly valued and appreciated. Thirdly, he treated me for stomach problems with success. We are lucky to be his patients.

Dr. Burrows was arrogant. HIs technical skills were lacking. Good GI doctors are hard to find. This one is well below average and a waste of time. Cared more about himself and playing in the mountains than helping his patients. Horrible bedside manner. It is hard to believe Doctors like this can make a living.
