Dr. Norwood was on call when our family had the worst day of our lives. Our 6 year old had been in an ATV accident and was flown via helicopter to The Flagstaff Medical Center. His femur had been broken and one of the sharp ends of his bone had sliced open the back of his leg. Dr. Norwood was very empathetic and helped to put us at ease. We were updated during our son’s surgery. He called us when he was done and gave us the details of the surgery. He made himself available if we had questions once we were sent home. We live in the Phoenix area but we continued to make the long drive to Flagstaff to continue our care with Dr. Norwood. He took great care of our son and made us feel as if he was treating one of his own family members. We would recommend Dr. Norwood to anyone seeking a good orthopedic surgeon. We trust him. Our son is all healed up now, one year later. We feel like we hit the jackpot having had Dr. Norwood be the doctor who came in that day.

I'm overweight and was in constant chronic pain. I was using a walker or wheelchair and my life was so limiting. He took one look at my xrays and agreed to do my hip replacement. It was the best experience from my first visit with him thru my one year checkup. He was one of my biggest cheerleaders and provided professional and helpful guidance. I had a custom tshirt made with "Norwood's Bionic Hip Club" emblazoned in purple glitter that I where all the time. The minute he gave me the clearance to travel, I took off to make up for the years I was so limited! I went on two to four trips a month for an entire year. I was on a "Round-The-World Bionic Hip Tour" and I wore my tshirt all around the world. I went to Alaska (2x), Hawaii (4x), Mexico, Japan, South Korea, China, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria, London, Canada and more! My tightest turn-around was 16 hours. I was able to walk distances and do stairs. He's the BEST and I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

From first listening to him at an informational seminar, through my total hip replacement surgery, and well into recovery, I have been immensely impressed with Dr. Norwood. His knowledge, skill and professionalism are outstanding. His caring, thorough and honest approach to patient care gave me the confidence needed to undergo this major surgery and makes me look forward to each post-op visit. To break my hip at 18 is no treat. Finding a doctor to treat an 18 year old with a broken hip is harder than you’d think. Dr. Norwood saw me and the next day had me in surgery to pin my hip. I was walking one month earlier than expected and 2 months post surgery I was running. I wasn’t able to sit comfortably or barley walk before this surgery. He was an amazing doctor! He made the process not scary at all and had amazing follow up care. I could not recommend him enough! Thank you so much for allowing me to get back to normal life!

Total hip replacement Jun 2019, so Adam Norwood gets another 5-star review. Like he needs any more. Top of the profession; I'd recommend him for anyone needing hip replacement surgery. From beginning to end he was (is) the consummate professional, explaining the procedure, emphasizing both pre-op and post-op work (And limitations - he was somewhat stern a couple of times during post-op visits, strongly advising me to throttle back, let the healing complete before pushing my limits too much). Total confidence going into surgery, total confidence coming out of surgery, and total joy in gaining back so much of what I lost over the years. My quality of life is light-years ahead of what it was over the previous decade, due largely to Dr. Norwood's competence, skill, caring approach, and holistic approach to treating me. Thanks, man. Total Hip Replacement Surgery in Nov 2019. Dr. Norwood and the Orthopedic Center at Harrison gets high marks from me for having an excellent surgical program. My surgery experience shows these serious procedures are well planned, thorough in the every step of the process, and gave me clear and thoughtful communications. This surgical team have taken a client-centered approach and I know that their knowledge, experience, professionalism, and most importantly their upbeat positive and friendly approach made all the difference in the world. Of course how a patient sees such a huge surgical experience will probably always depend on the ultimate outcome and what the patient expected the outcome to be, I believe at this point in my recovery the ultimate outcome will be everything I was hoping for. Dr. Norwood & his team are as good as I've ever experienced in my life time!!!

He was conscientious, caring, concerned, professional and I felt he treated me like I was his only patient. I had total hip replacement. I am so pleased with the results! Dr. Norwood is an excellent and inspiring physician. From my first visit with him, he planned my treatment plan with the future and my individual circumstances in mind. I'm 60 and a daily exerciser, and he took that seriously, helping me to effectively return to most of my usual exercise routine. I feel very confident putting my healthcare in his hands.

Dr. Norwood did a total hip replacement on my right hip in December of 2017. I felt totally confident in him throughout the entire process, from the initial consultation through the surgery and follow up visits. In October 2017 I received a total hip replacement compliments of Dr. Adam Norwood. He has followed up on my progress since. I would (and have) highly recommend him to anyone seeking a surgical operation. He is professional, knowledgeable, and experienced in his field. To top that he is personable, optimistic, honest, and genuinely cares about the well-being of his patients. Fortunately he has the skills to replace my hip using the anterior method (which is less invasive) so surprisingly I was back walking my dog at the park in very little time!

Dr. Norwood is absolutely the best Orthopedic Surgeon in my opinion. He has performed the fifth and sixth surgery on my left leg. He did my knee replacement (revision) in November 2018, and then he repaired a spiral fracture of my left femur in February 2019. I chose Dr. Norwood to perform the second surgery because of how well he did the first. Prior to the knee revision, Dr. Norwood was extremely thorough on diagnosing the problem with my then four year old knee replacement. He kept me fully informed throughout the process and the six hour long surgery was completely successful. Dr. Norwood is the consummate professional with excellent bedside manner. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing an Orthopedic Surgeon.

When my physician determined I needed a new hip he recommended Dr. Norwood. It couldn’t have been a better choice. I was essentially an obese cripple when I met Dr. Norwood. With all cartilage gone, bone eaten into bone, and relegated to a walker, I had been refused by all orthopedic referrals made by my primary care provider. Not so with Dr. Norwood. He is a sincere, fair, honest, and highly competent member of his profession. He accepted me with the understanding that I would be required to meet reasonable requirements to be eligible for his services, and away we went. Be advised, you will meet his requirements! Two years later, completely mobile and virtually pain free, I still look forward to annual checkups with Dr. Norwood. The occasion is not a visit to my Doctor, it is a call on my friend who just happens to be a great doctor. During the process of the second knee, he asked why my wife, Donna missed my appointment. When I let him know she had passed, he actually shed tears, took my hand and said: "Lou, May I pray with you?" The measure of the Doctor is the measure of his friends/patients.

Dr. Norwood is thorough, diligent and meticulous. He explains the procedure thoroughly, taking the time to answer all of your questions. He is diligent about checking your overall health and preparedness for surgery and meticulous about the surgery itself. He talks in plain English and makes sure you understand the risks of the surgery. He is honest about the healing time. I never felt rushed either in asking about or understanding the procedure. He always wanted to try the least invasive fix first and never suggested surgery first. Dr. Norwood replaced my hip and I went back to him a year later to have my knee replaced. He worked hard to make sure that my hips were as evenly placed as possible. Thank you Dr. Norwood. I am lucky to have such a caring doctor in my local community.

Dr. Norwood replaced my left hip about a 24 months ago. Prior to that I had severe arthritis and difficulty performing even the basic tasks for several years. Since then I have returned to the enjoyment of many things I had thought I would never be able to do again with no surgical complications. My two surgical experiences (both hip replacements) with Dr. Norwood and his staff were positive from beginning to end. I had knee replacement surgery on 2 July 2019. Dr Norwood was very thorough and professional and he has a very knowledgable team assisting him. His post appointments were explained in detail on how the operation would go and what to expect. I would highly recommend him.

There have been more than one visit and they were all good. Dr. Norwood was a little worried about how old I am but did a wonderful job. I no longer click with every step and the pain is gone.

Dr. Norwood is my well-trusted excellent knee doctor and surgeon. Initially, he took the time to address all my concerns and treatment options; and gave me a shot and physical therapy referral that really helped. When it was time for a new knee, I received great guidance and information on preparation, procedure and recovery, as well as follow-up for questions and encouragement. I was well informed, cared for and strong going into my "new knee day;" and strong and well supported in recovery. My new knee works great! I really feel Dr. Norwood and his staff partnered closely with me for a successful outcome.

Though I was not a candidate at this time for a total hip replacement, Dr Norwood took the time to thoroughly explain my condition and discussed conservative treatments

This was my 1 year after knee replacement appointment. Everything looks good. I have no pain and the x-rays show the new knee joint is good with proper separation between the top and bottom parts. He went over everything and answered my questions. I have had nothing but complete satisfaction from before the day of surgery to today. I have already recommended him to a friend who wants to have his pads replaced between his artificial knees but the friend is moving in a month so may not be having Dr. Norwood do that.

In April of 2019 Dr Adam Norwood performed total hip replacement surgery on my right hip. I am extremely satisfied and pleased with the treatment and care I received from Dr Norwood and his staff. Because of the anterior surgical approach he uses, my recovery time was minimal and I was soon able to get back to normal activities. I feel Dr Norwood took the time to get to know me as a person, not just a patient. He listened to me, addressed my concerns, and gave me praise for my hard work at physical therapy. If I have other joint issues in the future, I will definitely seek advice from Dr. Norwood.

Dr. Norwood provided me with a miraculous CURE for my hip pain with the hip replacement he performed. I had no idea that such total elimination of pain and total functionality was possible. It took some time for me to heal just as he had explained it would. Now that it is all done I can run circles around everyone. Dr. Norwood is absolutely the best doctor. My only regret is that I didn't consult him 3 years earlier.

Dr. Norwood is a good human.... I never felt like I was a number or a body he was crossing off his list. He valued me as a patient, he listened when I spoke, he never made me feel like I was utilizing too much of his time. He is also a fantastic doctor. He is honest, hardworking, diligent and personable. I would advise anyone that is in need of hip or knee replacement to have a consultation with him. He will not pressure or persuade in any direction. He will listen to you, he will be honest and forthright with you and he will make whatever decision you elect to make, yours and yours alone. With all that being said, he is an elite surgeon. I had my left hip replaced in January 2019 and my right hip in December of 2019. Everything he did was exact, everything he detailed would happen, happened. There was never a doubt in my mind, after the first operation, who would be doing the next one. It has been amazing and life changing for me physically and emotionally.

Dr. Norwood is a great guy, down to earth, and yet clearly an expert in his field. He clearly explained and showed me what the problem was with my hip, and why it needed to be replaced. I really did not want to have major surgery like this, and had put up with a very painful hip for over 5 years, but after my wife and I met with Dr. Norwood and discussed our options with other doctors and family members, I reluctantly decided to go ahead with this hip replacement. I am so glad I did. The recovery was really pretty quick and easy - I was up walking (with a walker) the same day, and I was really surprised that the pain was LESS right after the surgery than before. Dr. Norwood and his team did a wonderful job coordinated everything before, during, and after the surgery, and through the follow-up over the past year. Thank you!

Dr. Norwood repaired my b-lateral quad tendon tear March 2019. I cannot recommend him enough. He performed miracles for me and I can walk, bike and do most things with no pain. I’ve been in the gym for the past year and I got my life back thanks to Dr. Norwood.

Would recommend Dr. Norwood to anyone needing a hip replacement. I had both hips replaced about 4 months apart by Dr. Norwood and have had no problems and feel better than I have in years. I can now walk several miles a day and at 70 years old also feel well enough to go back to work! I had both hips done at Harrison Hosp in Silverdale and would also recommend it as the place to go.

Sometime in life you find out they life isn’t what you think it will be. I had broken my hip and femur. It had been Almost 3 years of just daily pain. I was so depressed and I felt that I wouldn’t ever be pain free. I was even told that I would have to have all the hard ware and screws in for like, I was only in my early 50’s when my accident happened. Then one of the best days of my life happens, I had an appointment with dr. Norwood and his staff. They were all amazing and very kind and understanding. I will never forget the words that he said. “I can take the hard ware out for you’ I was shocked and very surprised. Round six weeks later I had the surgery. It changed my life!
