This entire facility is great. I walked in, was greeted and sat down. Within 5 minutes, I was called to the doctor. The nurse was very helpful and was very caring. Then I was seen by Char. She talked to me about my concerns, and she explained to me all avenues of treatment. This entire visit was less than 45 minutes, from beginning to end. EXCELLENT SERVICE EXCELLENT STAFF

I have been seeing Dr Mathern for approximately 3+ years great guy very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, he also has a wonderful staff that treats everyone with respect. I actually have a great time going for cancer treatment go figure.

I've been under Dr Nathern care sense 2014 ,the respect and honesty he has with me has been top notched! Along with being polite he shows an intense interest, but with a respectful professional smile! Thank you Dr. Mathern for helping me get my health back in shape!

He takes the time to tell you what is going on with your cancer and the treatment plan and options. He has a very pleasant personality and was great to my husband and me. The front office is great. The chemo nurse team is great! The office is very clean and comfortable.

Another doctor referred me to Dr. Mathern for blood monitoring and treatment. The front desk made no attempt at a hello or any warm greeting that you might expect, especially in an office treating cancer. They accepted my referral papers and without even looking at them told me that he was back from vacation, therefore behind and I’d be lucky to see him in three weeks. My condition required immediate and frequent lab work. It doesn’t appear that there is any interest in accepting new patients.

Listened to my thoughts and questions and was professional, kind and empathetic in is honest responses. Grateful to have Dr. Mathern and the whole AZ Oncology team on my side!

The doctor is very knowledgeable and caring. He explained my treatment procedures better than any of my other doctors, and had all 0f my background medical information from the other doctors. He gave me great hope and. optimism.

Monthly visits to AZ Oncology for a Cancer infusion, never a problem. Doctor, Nurse visit and Lab draws 2 days prior. Entire staff is excellent.

I was diagnosed with stage IV Non-smoker's lung cancer, which on the Internet is classified as terminal. When I saw Dr. Mathern in February 2021, I asked about these statistics. "Oh, don't believe everything you hear on the Internet," he told me. "We'll have you in good shape in 6-8 months." (I wrote about my experience as it happened; moreover, my sister was with me and is witness to what I'm stating here.) I also expressed concern that my liver, which would be processing the chemo and immunotherapy, was already in bad shape due to Hepatitis C. "Can you prescribe the drug that erases Hep C?" I asked. "You have bigger things to worry about," was the doctor's reply. I now know that he was wrong in this approach. But as I would later learn, Dr. Mathern had one goal, and it was not my health, unfortunately. He wanted me on those drugs asap, for to him, I was now just a customer, since he personally believed I was indeed terminal and by golly let's get her insurance to pay top dollar!

Dr Mathern explains things in plain terms so you can understand what is going on. His staff is also so good at what they do you always feel well taken care of.

I love coming here for treatment. Best care I have received.

Totally recommend. Great personality and experienced doctor. And staff friendly and helpful. From Char to reception to blood to chemo the staff is wonderful and informative

We travel 2 hours once a year just to see him. Best doctor. Hes worth the drive!!!!

Dr. Peter Mathern is a brilliant Oncologist. He is an amazing Physician with an endearing bedside manner. I am an 8 year survivor because of him.

I would and will recommend Dr. Mathern to anyone needing his services. I am a newly diagnosed cancer patient my first visit was truly inspiring to me Dr. Mathern spent over two hours going over medical records, CT's and bone scans with me and my wife. He answered all my questions and gave me new data to research to further educate myself. I had already seen the best in the country at the Mayo and other facilities but needed someone closer to home.

I found Dr. Mathern to be very thorough and patient he spent a lot of time with me and explained my medical situation so I could understand what was going on. He has a great personality.

would not see my mother in law on Monday because she didn't have sufficient insurance. Not even an initial appointment to give her a prognosis or treatment options..... Then talk about the cost!! We waited how many weeks to get in then have them call the Friday before the appointment to cancel... The billing department said it was the doctors decision, not hers. They said apply for AHCCCS. I'm so pissed right now. Heartless....Where is his bedside manner?!

The most cold hearted doctor I have ever had anything to do with. My wife had an appointment with him for a consultation on a Monday. We had the appointment for a week and a half. Friday afternoon his office calls our house speaks to my wife who has stage 4 pancreatic cancer and cancels our appointment. He cancelled the appointment because we didn't have insurance. We were going to pay cash but he decided who can afford him and who can't. They don't care about people.

I like Dr. Mathern as a person and a doctor. As for the people that are suppose to schedule and make appointments for you not so much. They do not return your phone calls or messages. I have tried calling over 5 times to make an appointment to get a scan done. They say they will call me back, and never do. Or just send me to their answer machine and never get a call back. My health and time is worth better then that and I am sure it is for other people as well. I was forced to go to phoenix. I called down to phoenix and they called me back and got me scheduled for an appointment that same day. I like Dr. Mathern as a person and a doctor.
