I started using Dr. Franklin several years back and have never regretted it. He and his staff are very personable and professional which makes for a pleasant experience. Dr. Franklin will diagnoses your condition, inform you of the best plan of action to take, and then the necessary steps to implement it. Always prompt not much waiting . Dr is very concerned and through Staff is nice and knowledgeable Good experience.

My appointment was at 8:30 am, but I did not see the doctor until about 10:00 am.

The nurses they were friendly and nice so we're the doctor

Every tech I was attended by was very professional. Dr. Franklin is extremely knowledgeable and a leader in his field. I value my eyesight, and I would not let anyone else take care of my eye needs.

Love Dr. Franklin and the entire office staff!!! He was kind, patient and caring! He was conscientious and made sure to explain everything to me! I would always use him if I had any further problems to arise. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family!!!!

Everybody was nice and friendly explained everything that was going on as they went from room to room

Dr Franklin is a very through doctor. And very good at what he does. Just a bit busy, but that is what happens when you are very good.

Dr. Franklin saved the vision in my right eye. He’s extremely knowledgeable and professional and his kindness extends through all his staff. He also rescued my neighbor’s sight by answering a call in the middle of the night and performing emergency surgery. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Franklin and his staff are fantastic and I highly recommend his office. I have a rare genetic eye disease and was not seeing very well. He correctly diagnosed and my eyes and now they are improving with the proper drops. He really cares and goes the extra mile to fix the problem. His staff is precious, helpful and utmost caring. If you’re having any issues with eyesight, don’t hesitate to see Dr. Franklin. His knowledge and surgical expertise is second to none!

My daughter had an appt. Very slow, appt was at 2pm and didnt leave till well after 4. No communication between staff. Kept asking if they forgot about appt. All they kept saying iS she was next. Will be finding another Md for exam next time.

Very poor office management. Appointment was at 9:30 am. Did not get called back until 10:25 am. Did not actually see Dr. Fanklin until after noon. This is ridiculous. I would not recommend Dr. Fanklin.

I like Dr Franklin but had difficulty getting in to see him because his staff would schedule an appt and then call and change a few days before the schedule appt. Plus the wait time was at least an hour to hour and a half to see the doctor.

HE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST DOCTOR I'VE BEEN TO IN MY 50 YEARS OF SEEING DOCTORS. HE TRULY CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. I HAD A DETACHED RETINA AND NEEDED IMMEDIATE SURGERY. INSTEAD OF HIS CLINIC FOLLOWING UP ON ME, DR. FRANKLIN FOLLOWED UP EVEN WHEN HE WAS IN THE AIRPORT GOING TO A BUSINESS FUNCTION. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR. BTW..WHEN HE CALLS YOU, HE JUST SAYS ALAN FRANKLIN. MY SURGERY WAS GREAT WITHOUT ANY PAIN AND I STILL FOLLOW UP WITH HIM. HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING AND HE CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS!!!!!

he told me about this procedure to put an iol in my eyes so i would be able to see without glasses or contacts...i said no at first because i had 20/20 in my left eye with contacts and glasses...the left eye i could see but not as good...i had congenital cataracts when i was 7 and 11...i had them removed...i had the surgery for the iol...the worse thing i have ever done or have done to me...when i told franklin that i couldnot see good out of it...he checked it and said he had made me nearsighted...i researched it and found that it was worse than having a cataract...that it could literally make you blind...eventually...he told me it would get better but it never did...i kept going back to him...eventually other problems cropped up due to my diabetic situation...i had second opinions from other doctors who told me my left eye was misshapen or distorted...or i would have to live with it...i went back to franklin and i told him this and he wanted to discharge me so to speak if i wasnt happy...but i was scared...my husband was going thru several illinesses and i was focused on him moreso than me...so franklin said my eye was getting worse and he wanted to do laser...and set up an appt in the following weeks...so that is when i decided to see another doctor to give me a second opinion or change...so i went dr douglas at premier...when i went i talked to one of his assistants...told her my story...she told me that franklin had other patients who were unhappy about this same procedure...that they couldnt see and they had come to dr douglas...i asked dr d if i could have the iol removed and go back to a cataract lens...he said yes...which i had been hoping someone would tell me that...at one point when i was talking to franklin...he told me that he didnt guarantee his work...he never told me that in the beginning...i know by having this procedure done that i ruined my eyesight...i should have listened to my gut feelings...i shouldnt have done it and dr franklin shouldn't have recommended it...he kept saying it was a vitrectomy...but it was a Scleral fixated intraocular lens which they have to stitch in....that is what made me nearsighted and disfigured my eye...i kept asking him and his male assistant what was it really and they never would say...if they had told me this i would have researched it and not done it...it even says that it can make you myoptic...so don't go to him...don't let him near your eyes...he doesnt go into detail he doesnt empathize with you that he ruined your eyesight...nothing...i am a professional artist and i have not been able to do my artwork for 2 years now...i can barely see to drive and do things...i cannot see distance...i can barely see closeup...my left eye aches...i can't sue him...i have talked to an attorney...i am just screwed...and i am saying this that someone else checks out his profile and reads my comments...so to save their eyesight... he told me about this procedure to put an iol in my eyes so i would be able to see without glasses or contacts...i said no at first because i had 20/20 in my left eye with contacts and glasses...the left eye i could see but not as good...i … More

Dr. Franklin saved my eyesight in one eye by repairing a tear in my retina. He did it at his office after hours. He is the kind of doctor who takes care of eye emergencies no matter what the time of day. I trust him and would not go to anyone else. He keeps a check on my retina annually. He is brilliant doctor and so humble, too.

Excellent physician and even better person! He has that secret sauce that just makes a doctor over the top!

Good thing my daughter didn't need any help from this guy! Thanks for no help and we found our own surgeon st Providence Hospital. We will find new doctors there too! You just lost 3 patients

Dr. Franklin is a very friendly and comforting doctor that will not rush you in and out of the office like many of my other doctors do. He explains things to me and helps me understand my treatment options. The staff is friendly and professional. He also has a Ph.D. And has been involved in many of the advancements in this specific field of medicine. He cares about his patients, returns and answers personal phone calls to help comfort me and my concerns. I highly recommend him.

I was scared to even think about going to see a retina specialist, but I would recommend anyone to go to Dr. Franklin. He and his staff are one of the best groups that could possibly be. They are very nice and welcoming, most of all they know what they are doing and they explain well.
