Dr. Alan Norio Oki

Dr. Oki has been my doctor for 3 years. he saved my life. I have a rare and life-threatening condition called cerebral vasculitis and he worked with my neurologist to treat this life-threatening terrible disease. I'm a physician and it's rare to meet a rheumatologist who works within the hospital and takes the harder cases. The islands are very lucky to have him, He's well educated with an MD and PhD in Immunology. He has a get personality, he's very sweet, and is very understanding. Please don't listen to some of these other reviews.

My RECENT ONE......EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING and SAD

He seemed knowledgeable and was very Friendly. He seemed like a really good Doctor! I would have given his practice 5 stars but the Lady running his office was so rude to me it made me wish I went elsewhere. It was honestly strange how rude she was me each time we spoke, maybe I looked like her evil stepdaughter haha but it was too bad because I stopped going because of her.

Dr. Alan Oki has been my physician for over 15 years. He has always treated me with the utmost respect and I believe I receive excellent care. Dr. Oki has excellent communication, is very creative and forward-thinking with his treatment approaches and I trust him implicitly. While his staff has changed over the years they are all kind, warm and friendly. His is a very busy practice because he's an excellent physician.

This Doctor takes to much time . I had to wait up to 3 hours so if you have him as a doctor take the day off if you still work . And I walk out with still no help for my pain.

Avoid Dr. Oki if you have gout. I’ve been suffering with gout for many years and have monthly flares. He told me that I’d have to just deal with my condition and that there wasn’t a medication that could help me. I recently saw a new Rheumatologist at Pali Momi that put me on a new treatment. It’s changed my life.

Just like another reviewer indicated, my mom and I waited for Dr. Oki for over an hour and when he finally saw my mom, he literally (without exaggeration) spent less than 3-minute actually speaking to us about my mom's condition and the rest of the time just typing on his computer. "Prescribed" vitamin supplement that did not resolve my mom's pain.

Waited 2 hours before he finally saw me. Recommendations to take supplements didn’t help. He spent most time on inputting diagnosis on his computer than on the patient.

Made a new patient appt with Dr. Oki in 12/16. I waited until end of 3/17 to see him. Switched from Kaiser to HMSA, so I need a new rheumatologist. I have Lupus Nephritis and SLE, and am now out of meds for this. I recd a vmail msg from his ofc on 3.20 & 3.21 to confirm. I didn't answer, so a msg was left on both days. I didn't return the callls. I went to my appt and was told it was canceled, due to no confirmation. It's their policy, that this new patient had no idea. They didn't care!

There are good doctors and there are bad ones. This is a bad one if your referred to him do yourself a massive favor and find a different specialist. I'm not gonna get into why but you'll figure it out fast enough if you don't take this advise !!

Dr. Oki is knowledgeable and has been my doctor for over 9 years. I began going to Dr. Oki because of Lupus and Arthritis. I had no idea what was going on and he got me on the right medicine to get me healthy again! I have had many years of clear lab results and good health because of him. My confidence in Dr. Oki is so high that I know no others will compare.
