Alfred Tennyson Mitchell

I had cut my left ring and middle finger tips off (I am left handed.) He sowed them back on and now they are perfect. He is a great doctor that I highly recommend. He is really good with surgery.

I had an unfortunate accident that resulted in what should’ve been the amputation of 3 fingers. Fortunately Dr. Mitchell did the surgery and was able to save the fingers. With nearly 2 years of recovery I regained the use of my hand. Dr. Mitchell was the most attentive and sympathetic M.D. I could’ve asked for. The entire time he was there to answer and explain any questions I had. To this day I credit him for having the use of my hand again. His staff was always very polite and friendly.

Dr. Mitchell is an amazing doctor. He did work on my finger and really took time to explain to me how to take care of it in a way that I could understand. He really went above and beyond. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor.

For months my dermatologist, a 35-year experienced teacher at UTMB, claimed my infected skin cancer was, "Ewe! That's too nasty to touch!" Finally on August 1, 2015, I sought help for the giant whole in leg and spirit at The Wound Center where they called in Dr. Mitchell. When I repeated the dermatologist's words to Dr. Mitchell, he calmly assured me, "We can take care of this right now and you'll be fine." He immediately admitted me into the hospital and performed surgery the next morning. Everyone I saw from x-ray technicians to nursing staff exclaimed, "Dr. Mitchell is the best doctor here." Indeed. I have had 4 skin cancers removed from my leg - 3 were painful and left ugly scars, yet Dr. Mitchell removed the giant infected cancerous hole in my leg with an easy post-op and spot that is invisible. I wish I could go to Dr. Mitchell for all of my cancer removals because he is a healer. Best doctor ever! Dr. Mitchell is one of a kind. He saw my daughter immediately after her injury happened and surgery was scheduled the next morning. His bedside manor was awesome and he made a very nervous situation pleasant. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader and was quickly back on the mat once her hand healed. She is as good as new.. A great hand surgeon!

Had emergency hand surgery with Dr. Mitchell. It healed really well. His staff was kind and friendly.

He is the best Dr!! I had a catastrophic accident 4.20.17. The skin was ripped off my hand and wrist.the skin graph he did was amazing!! He's had to redo someone else's stitches who really messed up my bottom lip that was sit in half between my lip and chin. His stitches are so small, you cannot even tell something even happen. He's methodical with everything he does. Do to my injuries, I've had 7 [seven] surgeries to date. He's done them all but 2[two] I'm getting ready to have surgery number 8 [eight] which will be to fix another mess-up! He is by far the best surgeon around. First impressions are lasting. Dr. Mitchell took immediate, excellent care of my husband. He has excellent bedside manners & the office staff & nurse were very kind & welcoming. We walked in very nervous & left smiling and assured that we were in the best hands.

He did AMAZING stitches for my 21 month old son near the edge of his lips .. practically no scar and treated my son with lots of care like he was his own son.

Dr. Mitchell treated my ex-wife for a number of years for Scleraderma and made himself available to her 24/7. He performed a number of surgeries to repair her wounds pertaining to her disease and was with her and the family till the end and held our hands and said a prayer for her. He treated us all like we were family and gave of his time. In the end, his entire family attended our memorial services. Doctors like him don't exist anymore. Did everything he could to make her comfortable.
