Dr. Vivian Odette Rodriguez

I worked in the medical field for 20 years and if I was as derelict in my duties as Dr Rodriquez or her staff I wouldn't have lasted a week. I had both blood work and an ultrasound and I wasn't called with results. There is no excuse for not informing a patient with results. After several calls I was finally able to speak with Dr Rodriquez who then ordered a biopsy. I was never contacted for a biopsy appointment. Also, I asked for a physical copy of my blood work because the staff had no idea how to use the patient portal or how to sign me in. Concerning blood work, I was told the Doctor was busy and that she would be on the phone all day if she reported lab results to patients. And how does one know if they are normal or abnormal without being informed? I was dumbfounded. I wished to pass on my experience to Dr. Rodriquez personally and she never called me. Dr. Rodriquez dropped the ball as well as her staff. I wouldn't put my health in this doctor's hands and surely not her incredibly rude staff.

Excellent Doctor

I've been a patient of Dr. V. Rodriguez for over 20 years. No other doctor (out of 7) ever properly diagnosed me even though I told them I was suffering from symptoms of PCOS but she did and it showed in my blood work from my 1st visit. Dr. Rodriguez takes the time to speak with you about your health history and symptoms. She has excellent bedside manner and I wouldn't go to any other Endocrinologist. I continue to see her because of her vast knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend Dr. Vivian O. Rodriguez to family and friends. Waiting to see her is true, but it's worth the wait to see someone who can diagnose you and provide you with proper treatment. I have found it difficult at times to get through phone lines but I leave a short detailed message and they call me back. For labs, they provide your results in the portal and the front desk staff let you know that as soon as you finish seeing Dr. Rodriguez. For blood work there, Peggy is the best! ???? Not pleased at all with this doctor. Had to call to get my lab results, they had them for a week and never called because they were "normal" . We had discussed BCP for an ovarian cyst. She never mentioned it again, while I'm in pain right now from the cyst. Will not go back and would not recommend. I never write reviews, but I am that disappointed with this office. Dr. Rodriguez is a good doctor, but her office staff has gone to hell. They do not follow up on what is needed for scripts and the doctor values her staff over the patient. In a Doctor's office, the patient comes first. period. run for your life

I'm blown away by the high level of professionalism that was provided by the front desk staff, nurses, lab tech (Peggy), and of course Dr. Rodriguez. I’m enormously thankful and highly recommend her for the treatment and diagnosis of hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Dr. Rodriguez is great! She helped me when no other doctor could or would! Her staff is very friendly! I highly recommend her for thyroid problems!!

Dr. VIVIAN RODRIGUEZ has been my doctor for over 13 years. I was referred to her by Dr. Hung who is my ENT doctor. He recommended her because she was so very thorough & knew she would investigate all my health carefully before making any diagnosis. Dr. Rodriguez request two or more pathologists reports before recommending surgery for me. Dr. Hung did operate, but Dr. Rodriguez was there being very supportive. She kept me and my family informed & did my follow up care. Even when I was in the hospital after a horrible car wreck in 2012, she was there at St. Luke checking on me during my 2 month hospital & rehab making sure that all was well. From her soft spoken receptionist to Pat ( her caring nurse )to Personal Peggy (her lab tech), they are very respectful. Dr. Rodriguez can be very direct in a loving way. She is truly concerned about all her patients. Dr. RODRIGUEZ Is a very professional and our family both love & respect her! Dr Rodriguez is very knowledgeable in her area of expertise.Analyzing symptoms and implementing a plan of action seems second nature for her. She is very good at breaking things down so you understand and she takes time and listens.

Dr. Rodriguez is fantastic! I had seen 3 other doctors who were unable to stablize my thyroid medication. Dr Rodriguez put me on a combination of two medications and solved the problem. Dr. Rodriguez is fantastic, if you can make it that far. The staff are not very responsive, and sometimes downright rude. Good luck getting an appointment, the phones are turned off for 2 hours for lunch and then again three hours later. You can't even leave a message after hours. If you DO get appointment, bring a book. I have waited as long as 2 hours past my appointment time to be seen. I have been a patient there for 15 years and I am still treated with zero respect by the office staff. One time I was even LECTURED for calling about my lab results, because they are in the patient online portal. I have even mentioned my concerns to the DR and she wasn't really concerned. As a new patient, I couldn't be more pleased with my visit today. Some doctors like to impress you with how much they know about medicine, this doctor really listened and made sure I understood her plan of care. I have been seeing Dr. Rodriguez for over 10 years for hypothyroidism. I travel over an hour to see her, because she is technically one of the most competent endocrinologists I have seen. I highly recommend her medical services.

Dr. Rodriguez herself is fantastic. Staff are rude, non-responsive, and uncaring. They often act irritated or inconvenienced that they have to speak to you. I have been a patient here for over 15 years and they are still rude.

Dr. Rodriguez is the most caring and thorough endocrinologist available in Houston. Whether you live close by or are in another country the patient portal facilitates communication easily between doctor and patient. She has the best bedside manners and remembers personal things about you. She is extremely well versed in the medical field she practices and there is no one that can compete with her. Her staff is also helpful and kind. I would choose no other doctor but her!

Dr. Rodriguez herself is wonderful. However, her staff acts as gatekeepers and messages do not get delivered, phone calls do not get returned. I needed to talk with the doctor about test results, called twice and no return call. Wanted to schedule a second appointment but phone call to do so was never returned. Urgent appointments are impossible. I think her staff keeps things form her and does not deliver messages, etc. Really bad.

Dr Rodriguez was very helpful in thoroughly testing me and acting as a pivot point and advocate to help me find what was going wrong with my body and who to go to to get proper care. Her staff is very kind & caring & she has a great flobotomist in house. I would highly recommend her!

My appointment was at 9:30 am first patient. Receptionist forgot to mention to be a little patient the doctor is on a scooter device trying to get around to see patience. Dr. Vivian and i make eye contact when she notices I attempted to walk out to reschedule and instead of her apologizing sincerely she says I can call back to reschedule like she doesn't car. I knew I shouldn't have come in instead I should have found another doctor. This is proof that I should.
