Holly is one of the best medical professionals I have ever been to. She's amazing with young children, and her expertise has been life changing for both myself and my daughter, who started seeing her at 2 years old for uncommon skin conditions.

Dr Gruman has been a very good Dr for our family for years. While on vocation other male Dr filling in for her was extremely unprofessional and verbally abusive. I cut my son off couple times to tell Dr about about his past history with health and Dr started screaming at me and said you remind me of my mom and I had issues with her and told me to stop talking and shut up and that I pushed his buttons. He said his mom was overbearing and had issues with her his whole life and started to yell and scream at me the mom. I was in shock. All he had to say was stop talking and let your son do all the talking. He did not have to scream and be verbally abusive. It was a horrible experience. I can't believe I paid this Dr to sit there and have him yell and scream about his own personal problems. Dr Gruman needs to know about this. He will hurt her practice. Excellent care and a nice staff

My experience at Family Dermatology has been wonderful. I tried two other dermatologists in Venice and was very disappointed so I accepted a recommendation from a friend to try this practice and was very happy. I was able to get in for an appointment quickly, staff was competent, friendly and Physician Assistant Holly Colindres is amazing. A great listener, a great problem solver and sensitive to the needs of her patients. I've been a patient for over a year now and have no plans to go anywhere else! Great doctor.

AVOID BY ALL MEANS! Don’t waist your time and money there! Alla Gruman, in the beginning appeared as OK doctor, but decided to play drama when I asked them how much approximately will lab charge for tests (for professional who deals with labs tests on daily bases that shouldn’t be a hard question to answer) instead she decided to lecture me about the fact that she did not go to school to know how much certain procedures cost. Great to know! I guess patients are not allowed to know how much they will pay for treatment at this office. I wish she would know how to handle it in more professional way. On top of that, right AFTER procedure has been done at their office she asked me NOT to come back to their practice and find another office where people can answer questions. What? She should of tell me that BEFORE even starting procedure, so that I could have chance to cancel appointment and go to another professional. But she did not want to loose a chance to charge me first. Rudest experience in healthcare I’ve ever had. Save your time and do not give these people your money. I wish they would do the community a favor and go out of business. No bedside manner and was hung up on several times when trying to call. Go anywhere but this place.

Dr Gruman is a great doctor, who deserves six stars. But be careful with bills and her office staff. My insurance pays 100% but they send me bill every time. If I ignore it, they send it again and. Do they do it on purpose? So that you just pay it because you do not know what your insurance pay or forgot is?

Never open, banker hours.

I have never posted a physician review but deem this one a fair warning. IF you have any chronic skin issues - be forewarned. I saw this practice for months giving them an opportunity to find a good treatment and a solution for a chronic year long skin issue. I regret to say I am not better and they simply don't care. There is NO good follow through - a lack of professionalism and obviously a lack of expertise. One staff member informed me they were just too busy to deal with my chronic skin. I'm embarrassed that I trusted them only to continue to suffer with itching, rash, swelling etc. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MEDICAL CONDITION TO THEM. Enough said. Dr. Grumman was the first Demonologist I’ve ever seen, and I went because there was an unsightly growth above my eyebrow. It was a basal cell and didn’t need immediate attention. She also saw a tiny dark spot she identified as a melanoma. She sent it to the lab.... and removed it 2 days later. She said I was lucky that my vanity saved my life! I Was a sun worshipper, and it had caused extensive damage over the years. I haven’t been in the sun w/out cover for 5 years! I now see Holly Colindres PA twice a year, and she is every bit as meticulous as Dr. Gruman. Her “bedside Manner” is exemplary! Love her! Very professional - great manor

Dr Gruman is a wonderful, highly skilled and educated doctor, who deserves every bit of five stars. Unfortunately in recent years her office staff has declined, and Sherry and Jacqueline have made it so I will not be returning there. I had been bringing my daughters to her for eight years, been a patient of hers myself, and brought my husband to her. But after the blatant disrespect and lack of common courtesy from these two women, never again. Shame on you both. The best dermatologist, physicians assistance , medical assistance and front desk!

Dr Gruman is brilliant, meticulous, caring and personable 100% of the time. I’ve seen her twice a year for the past couple of years and would recommend her without any reservation whatsoever.

Dr. Gruman is an excellent dermatologist, she helped a lot with figuring acne medicine that got rid of it. The staff at Family Dermatology always follows up after procedures. They are friendly and very helpful.

Dr. Gruman is very knowledgeable, has great bedside manner, always treats me with utmost care for my skin health. The PA Cassandra and the NP Holly are both very thorough, always smiling and always treat me well. Their surgery days are Friday’s and Dr. Kontos is great at what he does while smiling through the procedure and giving great knowledge. I have been to many dermatologist in this area and I can say this office including their medical staff & assistants are very pleasant, professional and make me feel like I’m the best of hands. I was a patient of Cassie M., and her nurse Joanna. This was my first experience with a dermatologist, and the process that I had was far from pleasant. However, the excellent “bed”side manner by Joanna and Cassie made me feel very comfortable. They were caring and very explanatory of what was going to be done, the care for healing, and the removal of sutures. The procedure, although initially NOT painless, was made much better by this. I was seen on-time, both times. And I had nothing but great interactions with the office staff. Would recommend, without hesitation. I was not impressed with the staff of Sarasota Family Dermatology. It has been almost 6 weeks since my visit and I still do not have a copy of the results of a biopsy that was performed and indicated squamous cell carcinoma. I'm out of state for the next few months and have to use a local dermatologist to remove the carcinoma. I explained that to a staff member and gave her my mailing address; she was going to mail the biopsy results to me. It has been almost 2 weeks and nothing has come. The local dermatologist has been trying to get the results fax'd to his office but has been unsuccessful; he just called me and advised that they have been trying to reach a staff member at Sarasota Family Dermatology today but were unsuccessful - no one answers the phone - no matter what option you choose you just get voicemail! I called myself during the advertised normal business hours and I got no answer - just a recording. This practice is unprofessional and patient unfriendly-go somewhere else!

No after hours support

Very unsatisfactory visit. Came in for a wart removal, followed instructions post visit so the warts would go away completely but they still came back. Gave the office a call and staff scheduled me another appointment. On my return, she performs the same procedure and waits till AFTER to tell me I am going to be charged again. Then she explains to me it is not a one time procedure and can require multiple visits. I followed all the steps post visit for the removal and the warts have not gone away at all. Not a very honest practice and focused more on gathering money from patients rather than actually helping them. Very unsatisfactory visit. Dr. Gruman and her staff are focused on the health of your skin, not selling cosmetic procedures. They are professional and caring, and my entire family wouldn't go anywhere else.

I am a new patient of Dr. Gruman and I absolutely love her. Her knowledge, kind bedside manor and warm professional approach to medicine is very comforting. She truly cares about her patients. Kudos to her staff as well.

I was very impressed with Dr. Gruman’s care. She’s an excellent practitioner and I’m so grateful to have found a dermatologist I’m this happy with here in FL. For someone with a history of skin cancer, I feel very relieved!

I received a call from her office today since I would be a new patient of hers, and I get the first stupid question. The receptionist asked if I was still looking for a Dermatologist? So, I had to stop and think, " Well if my doctor referred me to you would I be asking you to take me as a new patient if I already have a Dermatologist?" Then here comes the real joke, my only day off of work is Friday, and I could easily get appointment. Of course not because Dr. Alla Gruman is not in her office on that day what a joke! Love the doctor and staff.

Dr. Gruman is a skilled and meticulous dermatologist, but she is an equally wonderful person. I was in her office waiting for a regular skin check-up and was in pain I couldn't identify. Her office staff took notice and they brought me to the back. Dr. Gruman quickly surmised I had kidney stones and called an ambulance and my wife. I thought her quick action was wonderful, as I was in a lot of pain. However, what was shocking to me was when she showed up at the hospital (12 miles from her office) to make sure I was OK. Dr. Gruman is an amazing practitioner. She is professional, personable, friendly, observant and witty—everything you’d want in a dermatologist. She doesn’t sell products or services outside of her direct scope so there is absolutely no push for esthetic dermal fillers or “fluff” services...just an intelligent, honest, caring person. I highly recommend her and her ARNP.

Office staff is the worst bad attitude rarly answers the phone left message on Thursday Friday I called back got attitude asked office lady to have nurse practitioner call me back on Monday never got a call these people care about 1 thing and it's not your health

The most thorough dermatologic exam I have received. Dr. Gruman is caring, down-to-Earth, and inspires confidence by her professional, methodical care. I went to her on recommendation from one of her patients and I am very glad to be her patient.

During the past 35 years I have seen six dermatologists for rosacea and Dr Gruman has been the only one with good solutions, and most importantly, sincere interest. Her friendly professional style makes routine office visits a pleasure.

Dr. Gruman is excellent with children. She made my daughter feel at ease for her exam and had an excellent bedside manner. I went to her for a second opinion, so glad I did because the problem turned out to be minor and we treated it non-invasive. We will go to her for all our skincare needs now.

I was told to have skin cancer screening 4 times a year because I have light skin That is what my insurance will cover.
