Allauddin Khan

After having read the horrible reviews which don't sound like Dr. Khan at all, I had to share my experience. "Treats you like a dog" and "Mentally Disorganized" DO NOT sound like the Dr. Khan I met with. I saw him in 2014 after my heart stopped at the age of 23. The Cardiologist I saw had no idea whatsoever what was wrong with me. Dr. Khan was the one who determined that I suffered from dysautonomia. After having moved out of the area, I've followed up my care with doctors who write textbooks on the subject. When I told them what Dr. Khan found, they asked for his information because they were surprised he honed in on the dysautonomia. Without having seen Dr. Khan, I wouldn't have had any answers. The Cardiologist I saw was perfectly content with leaving me with, "I don't know why your heart is stopping and all I can think of doing is giving you a pacemaker... which I don't want to do because you're too young". Dr. Khan aggressively investigated and his diagnosis was key in discovering my rare, underlying illness. Thank you, Dr. Khan. My first appointment was a general consult. I was describing my symptoms, one being memory issues and was interrupted numerous times so of course. I lost my train of thought. He ordered a battery of tests, the first one, autonomic testing. I've always had major issues with dizziness or passing out upon standing. Returned for results and testing confirmed a few severe ANS issues. The treatment suggested...increase my sodium intake. Really? No other follow-up testing needed but return in 3 months. For WHAT... salt? He's very condescending and again, constantly interrupts you. My husband was with me and tells me, "this dude is mentally disorganized" . I'm desperately seeking a neurologist that treats autonomic disorders. I'll NEVER return to see this man. My first appointment was a general consult. I have POTS/Dysautonomia. He is knowledgeable and has equipment to do complete autonomic testing.

Dr. Khan himself is extremely knowledgeable and takes his time with his patients. However, not sure if he is knowledgeable regarding his staff. If you have to call the office for anything from scheduling procedures, prescriptions, or insurance questions you might as well forget it. You will be holding for 15-20 and they are not accommodating at all, you will have do all your own legwork. I've seen the same doctors for years, he will not be one of them due to his staff, which is unfortunate.

I do not understand any reviews below 5 stars. I can't imagine this is the same Dr Khan I know. He diagnosed a neurological cause for my son's heart stopping, something the cardiologists could not determine. He ran complex neurological testing which confirmed the diagnosis. He discussed the condition at great length, explained exactly what needed to be done to improve his condition and try to prevent this from happening. In the following 4 years my son's heart has not stopped again..6 stars!!
