Mr. Amar Sawar

Horrible, has too many patients and can't keep employees (2offices=1 Dr,2traveling employees!). Keeps adding meds because he doesn't review your file (went 3yrs no appt but blamed me for not making an appt). I'd been his patient 6+yrs and picked my paper prescriptions up in his office EVERY month and went as requested for blood work. His office is only open on Thursday's now and after going for so many yrs you learn to call or the door would possibly be locked, or he hadn't had time to sign the script. Nobody answered the previous wk so I was already a 1½wks past due (happened often). I spoke up about his office needing help (as his 2 commited employees had complained to me also) and on my last trip he stopped my meds cold turkey, refused to wean me off or refer me to different Dr, said he was to busy to deal with me. As I waited for my file to be copied I chatted with his employee about her son and the Dr would change his mind and say he would see me, I'd go to the room, he'd demand an apology, then refuse again so I'd go back to the front desk. This went on for an hr (My Mom was with me and she walked out she was so livid, I just wanted to get referral and help avoiding whatever would come after 6yrs of taking same meds). I apologized to the 1 lady in the waiting room for both the Dr and my verbiage. So the meds he prescribed for Lupus, Arthritis, Rls and much more, since 2016, I now get to not only live without treatment (no referral) but suffer the "consequences" of having them unethically stopped. I'll probably have worse to say after the symptoms start so I wrote this review first.

I brought my brother to Dr. sawar, he had epilepsy for 10 years and non of the medications were controlling his seizures, Dr. sawar was very kind to get us seen as quickly as possible, he was understanding of my brother frustration of trying so much medicine without improvement. after Dr. sawar did a full evaluation, he gave us recommendations to manage the epilepsy. I can say that finally my brother got his epilepsy under control thanks to Dr. sawar.

I went to Dr. Sawar on a recommendation from my physician. I arrived 30 minutes early to my appointment and then when my appointment came up I had to wait an hour before he would see me. Once I was in his office he asked me several questions and acted like he had better things to do than talk to me. He then told me to call my doctor so he could ask him several questions. Very unprofessional. His staff is friendly and polite, but I would not recommend him to anyone.

I took my mother in for an appointment in November, the doctor took AN HOUR to get to her. His wonderful staff continued to check on her and I and make sure everything was okay and if I needed anything. THEN She finally got called to be taken back he took another 15 minutes to come in the room with her. Once he came into the room with her, 10 minutes into the appointment he got on his phone and walked out of the room and made me wait for another 10 minutes for him to come back in, and then started talking about stocks? Sir, I don’t care about stocks and would like you to figure out what is wrong with my mother. Long story short, his staff is wonderful but he is horrible. My mother will not be going back to Him. Such a shame

Did not answer all questions. Hurried through visit. Problems with prescriptions twice and could never get anyone to return my calls. On three different occasions I was told they would call back and no one did. Now I'm out of medicine.

Dr. Sawar has been my rheumatologist for nearly thirteen years. Under his care I’ve been able to be pain free for most of that time. He is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about his patients!

Dr. Sawar is very thorough and explains everything before, after and during. He has helped me stay pain free for the majority of the time, when other doctors have not been able to. My doctor from St. Louis wanted me to find a doctor down home. I haven’t had any episodes since 2015 and I needed a check up with a neurologist. Dr.Sawar did just that MRIs, x-rays, CT scans, and labs. Dr. Sawar explains everything and understands my other dx: mitochondrial myopathy with melees. He also gave me new dx: ankylosis spondylitis so I started massage therapy on my upper body. Tracy Creal Springs IL

Dr. Sawar is the best Neurologist/Rumatologist in this area. He is a very personable doctor who sincerely cares about his clients. I was amazed at how well he listened and the time he spends with his patients. It is also obvious that he has more knowledge about his field than the majority of other physicians. The combination of his extensive knowledge, willingness to listen, and determination to keep looking until true answers and soultions are found make him the best doctor you will ever meet.

Dr Sawar has recently diagnosed me with pseudotumor cerebri from the first visit and since my headache and my vision have dramatically improved after using Diamox . He has been a Godsend after saving my vision and relieving my severe headache. Amazing doctor !!!

Dr Amar Sawar has been very helpful in managing my pain. He is intelligent, efficient and thorough. His quality of care is outstanding. He is the best rheumatologist and neurologist in the area hands down.

Dr. Sawar and staff are courteous, professional and thorough. They don't hesitate to explain things if you don't understand. Dr. Sawar has done wonders for my mom and I expect he will do the same for me.

Dr. Salwar is one of the most caring and compassionate doctors we have ever met! He took his time with my husband Bobby to really get to know him and the health issues he was having. He gave us hope where all the other doctors didn't know what to do with him. Thank you Dr Sawar!

I believe Dr Sawar is very knowledgeable, however, he failed to get my RA under control and dealing with his office staff is horrible. Communication is frustrating. If you call with a problem you may not hear back for a couple of days and you may have to call back multiple times. It was very concern when one one such occasion I called with a problem and after 2 days a member of his taff called and told me to stop taking a medication that I was not even on!!!!! I have other concerning incidents.

Wonderful doctor! Much better than that new rheumatologist jarugla, he actually wants to help you!

I've been seeing Dr. Sawar for only a short time and I could not have thanked my PCP for sending me there enough. He is so smart and just a short amount of time has helped me get my Parkinson Disease under control.

Dr. Sawar has helped me and my family so much,and I would highly recommend him to anyone who has neurological, rheumatology or sleep medicine issues! I truly appreciate him as a physician as well as his wonderful staff!

Dr Sawar has to be one of the most efficient and caring doctors that I have ever been to. I went to my PCP with unbearable foot pain, and was referred to Dr. Sawar. I described the pain to him and he told me exactly what it was. He was right on target, this man is genius.

I found Dr Sawar to be very helpful and professional. I've been sick off and on for years without any relief. I've been to several physicians to no avail. This doctor jumped right into my illness with all the confidence in the world. By the time I left the office I felt like there might be light at the end of the tunnel. I suffer from a severe autoimmune disease, so my medication is very important. Dr. Sawar and his office staff do not send my prescriptions or provide necessary forms to my pharmacy; therefore, I do not receive my medication. It's been a week and a half since my appointment, and I still haven't received my medication! HORRIBLE WAY TO TREAT THE ILL!!!

I have made many appointments with Dr, Sawar MD. with no trouble. He has a very good staff that . If they get the call, it is handled right away. I know Dr. Sawar very well, I feel he is the best in his field. I have been going to Dr. Sawar for about 3 years and he takes care of my problem. I would recommend anyone needing a very good Doctor to go to Dr. Sawar for he is one of the best.

I have had trouble with them sending my prescription to the wrong Pharmacy or not sending it at all and this is happened after verifying it twice with me. Dr sawar change my milligrams they called me and told me on Thursday evening and they called and told me again on Friday morning today is Monday afternoon and went to the pharmacy and they have no prescription for me at all. I was livid. This is unacceptable!! It has happened way too many times. I will be calling them in the morning

This doctor was a real miracle for me. I have been extremely thankful for this amazing doctor. I have been pain free since he started me on gabapentin and plaquenil for my fibromyalgia and RA. THANKS .

Dr Sawar is the best physician I have ever seen in my life. He has always been courteous, kind, thorough, friendly and practical. I have been pain free since I saw him. He has a real great personality.

As a nurse practitioner I have been extremely impressed with Dr. Sawar's patience and kindness to me. I have a chronic long-standing condition that he has helped me so much with. I wish I could do something to pay him back for all he has helpprd me with. Wonderful man and super intelligent.

Dr. Sawar was very detailed in all of my symptoms. I have been living with severe body pain for many years and he understands my frustration. He was even able to see I had kidney problems which is something my primary doctor did not notice. His staff is very accommodating. Although they do not have a cancellation list, they did not mind me calling at all. Dr. Sawar has been a blessing to me in helping with my fibromyalgia.

Dr. Sawar is a very caring doctor who is thorough in his diagnosis procedure. Easy to talk to and his staff is very helpful.

Dr. Sawar is excellent Provider. He spends a great deal of time with all his patients. He is extremely intelligent. I would recommend him to everyone. I have learned a great deal from him as a student.

I seen Dr.Sawar for a NCS/EMG and found out i have mortons neuroma. He was intelligent and the staff was very frienbdly and helpful.

Dr. Sawar has seen my mother in law and we have always had a pleasant experience with and his staff. He is one of the most thorough physicians I have ever met. He spent so much time explaining my mother in laws diagnosis and the treatment options I highly recommend everyone to go see him with any rheumatology or neurology issues.

3-5 weeks for a report when you are in pain, or need it to move on with treatment is to much time to wait. One and half hours past appointment time is to much. Spent 10 minutes with me, and kept trying to walk out the dorr when I still had questions.
