An Yen

I've been a patient of Dr. Yen for two mohs surgeries. The first mohs that I had done two years ago on a basal cell carcinoma on my forehead has reoccured. Mohs surgery is supposed to be 99% curable, so I'm not sure if he removed all of the cancer during surgery. I also had mohs surgery 6 weeks ago for another bcc on the left side of my forehead. If I could go back in time I would never have gone to him again. This place is so slow. The process takes 1.5-2.5 hours to check the margins of the tissue sample. By the time you go back in the lidocaine has worn off and you need to have more shots again, including in the wound. My surgery took from 8-4 with 3 passes and closure of the wound. It was traumatic. The wound got infected, and I was put on a 10 day antibiotic. I just had mohs surgery with a fellowship trained surgeon. What a difference! Each layer took 30 minutes. It was such a better experience! Please don't go to Dr. Yen. Find a fellowship mohs surgeon instead.

I recently had a minor procedure done by Dr. Yen......his assistant was so patient and reassuring......Dr. Yen was cordial, informative, focused and very patient. I had a great experience and will definitely recommend Dr. Yen to anyone.....thanks again Dr. Yen and your assistant!!
