The office staff lacks professionalism, courtesy and knowledge. Dr. Taban is not very hands-on, friendly or proactive with his treatment. He also neglected to thoroughly review my medical history and asked me why I never had a certain procedure done when it clearly stated that I was not a candidate. I had noting but bad experiences with this doctor and his entire staff and I would not recommend them to anyone. I just recently reached out to them because I needed a response to a request and found out that Dr. Taban is no longer treating patients with brain issues. First off he is, I call the man with GOLDEN hands....I have had three surgeries with this wonderful extremely talented man....I had an auto accident in 1973 and didn't know I had a Broken neck from the incident. 22yrs walked around with a broken neck....I was having terrible pain in the back of my neck....asked my Doctor to please take an ex-ray he did. He told me I had to see neurosurgeon... I then asked him who would you refer me to....he said the best guy is Dr. Taban.....I knew a head nurse in Northridge Hospital we were friends for years I asked her too who would you see if she had this problem she said Dr.Taban....I can not say enough great things about this wonderful sweet man....he is the best in the whole wide world......his office girls are wonderful and so sweet Ellen is a sweet and kind lady and has been there since I've be going there!!!If you need a special talented Neurosurgeon Dr. Taban is it.....I promise you you will be in good hands with this wonderful man.....Thank you for always helping me to stop the pain and able to enjoy my life!!! <3 you....Margaret Coslett. I had surgery in 2004. I was folded in half due to a microscopic surgery I got in 2002 from a work injury.i started going to therapy in northridge once a week. One day leaving therapy I was approached by a man that recommended me to Dr Taban & told me that he can fix me So I went to see him & he told me he can fix me & he did.I thank God for putting that man in my path & allowing Dr Taban to work his magic hands on me. Dr Taban has performed two separate operations on my ( 7 years apart), one on my lower back for an herniated disc and another one just 3 months ago on my neck. He is an amazing doctor and I absolutely love him. He has saved my life and I wish I could do more to thank him for who he is. Dr. Taban was patient and listened to my concerns. He made sure I understood my options and my condition. What impressed me most was his staff. His nurse Sharon has always taken my calls answered my questions and helped me navigate the Health Care System with expertise. She has spent time explaining things to me and gone above and beyond to help me get the treatment I need I am so grateful to her for all of the knowledge she has shared with me and continues to do so.

Dr Taban is meticulous, professional, brilliant, caring and marvelous. I have had three different surgeries with him and he has saved my life. His staff and colleagues who assist him are also top notch. I recommend him unequivocally.

I want to thank you again for the amazing surgery you did for me, twice. People keep telling me that I am lucky to be alive, and of course that is always true. But I am so lucky not just to be alive, but to be thriving! For some reason, I was a lot more afraid of the brain surgery the second time, but because I trust you and feel safe with you, I went through with it anyway. Dr. Tabon is an astoundly excellent neurosurgeon. His demeanor is reassuring and calming. The day of my surgery the RN that prepared me indicated that he has worked with him for twenty years. He had incredible positive things to say abount his competency. Same words from All hospital staff as well. This was quite reassuring on the day of surgery. He followed up with me in recovery and also about 7 PM in the hospital. Talk about going the extra mile, he is the man. He also was not happy with the very small room I was assigned and had me switched to a very comfortable room. His office staff are exceptional as well, always congenial and prompt. Ellen always adds to please call back with any questions. Part of my job responsibilities has been to follow up on problem medical claims. Dr. Tabon is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Dr. Taban performed my husbands surgery and he is now doing remarkably well. He takes his time with his decisions and is very methodological. The office visits are not rushed. He takes his time explaining all details and making sure we understand what was happening. He encourages questions but will not always provide a definite answer when he is not sure. He is thorough and only does what is absolutely necessary. His practice is very personal where everyone knows who we are and calls us by name. They take their time to provide excellent support through the entire process and were always available when we called with questions. I would highly recommend him.

Dr taban perform a cervical surgery back in 2005 and he did it a great surgery now I need to have a surgery because I have a new feature on L4 and L2 the screw broke and also broke my bone I requested for Dr Taban because hes the only one I trust to have my surgery since I have 6 back surgery already that's how good of a Neurosergeon he is I look forward to see Dr Taban again.

My disc collapsed around Dec 2017. I was recommended by my Primary Care Physician who had her own spine surgery to Dr. Asher Taban. Dr. Taban explained in great detail what was wrong with my spine, and why I would need surgery. He performed my surgery in May 2018 and I'm recovering very well from it. The excruciating pain from walking is gone and I thank him and his wonderful staff in helping me get better!

I have known of Dr. Taban’s skill as a surgeon for years so he was my first call when I knew I might need surgery. He was thorough and compassionate in his evaluation and thoroughly explained everything to me. My surgery was six weeks ago and I am very pleased with the results. My symptoms of pain and numbness are completely gone. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family.

A complete Fraud. Stay away from this foreign doctor who should not be practicing medicine in the US. if you value your life find a real doctor that has a legitimate degree from a known University and accurate work history.

Dr. Tabs did my surgery in 1993 and he's a genius I was only 36 years old and he made my back lile new again, which lasted about 20 years until I fractured it, and I'm thrilled he is still practicing as Im making an appointment right away. Only doctor I trust.

Dr. Taban performed two very delicate and difficult surgeries on my husband in the last 3 years. He has severe stenosis and each time his spinal cord was severely compressed. Both his doctor, and a good friend of ours who is a doctor, highly recommended him and said they would have Dr Taban operate on them. We are so grateful for two very successful surgeries which prevented my husband from having to use a wheelchair. We are thrilled with the results and would use him again.

Dr Taban takes his time to explain in detail what to expect in your treatment and or surgery. He make sure you are ready to be discharged from hospital and or treatment. His office staff is very patient and helpful.

Dr. Taban is very clear about what will happen if surgery is required. He doesn't rush you through the OR like an assembly line., He takes his time to make sure everything is done correctly. The staff are very helpful and polite.

Dr. Taban has to be the best neurosurgeon ever. He operated on me in 2004 after a jet-ski accident and cured me. Then just 1 week ago (August 22) he did it again. I had 2 degenerative discs in my neck and he put in 2 artificial discs. I woke up from the surgery and immediately knew he had cured me AGAIN as all the pain I was experiencing was gone. Dr. Taban is the best there is and so is his staff. I felt like I was part of a family that was caring for me.

I had my back surgery July 25, 2016 and the results are fabulous. I am back to a full workout routine and overall I am 90% free of any pain and discomfort.

Highly skilled! Superbly trained! With extensive experience! Outstanding reputation! Magical hands! Naturally gifted! He is the "fixer" of other neurosurgeon mistakes. Dr. Taban successfully corrected my severe cervical herniations, at 4 different levels. It was almost an 8 hour emergency surgery, with a high risk of paralysis. Dr. Asher Taban is my back surgeon and he performed an 8½ hour surgery on my back in early June 2017. This is my 5th back surgery and Dr. Taban was correcting problems from my last two surgeries which were done by another doctor. Dr. Taban is extremely patient and understanding. He answered all my questions clearly. The surgery went extremely well and although my recovery has been a relatively short time as of this writing the results have been remarkable. I can walk, sit and stand without pain

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude and deepest appreciation for the outstanding care and consideration I received from Dr. Taban and his excellent staff on August 16, 2016, when they treated me for spinal stenosis. Dr. Taban's exceptional skills resulted in a successful surgery without complications , using titanium to fuse my L2 &L3 vertebrae. Dear Dr. Taban, Thanks for healing my husband, who suffered severe leg pain, over four months, due to a pinched nerve in his spine. Before seeing Dr. Taban, we consulted six doctors, who misdiagnosed the cause of his pain. Dr. Taban is an amazing doctor, kind and polite with a gift that makes him an extraordinary neurosurgeon. We cannot thank Dr. Taban enough, for returning my husband his life and wellbeing. We also thank his staff, whose dedication mirrors that of Dr. Taban. Thank you!!!!

Dr. Taban is straight forward, raw, and to the point! he might come off as arrogant, but he is not...he also could get defensive is you question his decision, but most doctors do =) if you want an honest opinion, go to him. He is picky about insurance policies, therefore, do make sure he accepts your insurance.

Dr. Taban is meticulous, detail oriented, and a surgeon who has 38 plus years of experience. His office staff is outstanding. I recently had a very serious lumbar surgery and after 6 weeks post-surgery, I am able to walk again without pain. Dr. Taban and his staff go out of their way to ensure positive results for their patients. I recommend him unconditionally. After seeing three different neurosurgeons, I chose Dr.Taban because he is the "man"! He is worth "waiting" for. Harriet S.

Dr. Taban was the best experience I ever had. I had severe pain in my lower back that was affecting my walking and everything else. I already had back surgery a year prior to meeting him. The first surgery I had only made me worse. When I went to see Taban for a second opinion he immediately knew the problem. I had a 14 hour surgery and within a few days I was already walking. I am able to walk way better than I have in the last 4 yrs. I have already highly recommend him and his staff to others.

Dr. Taban successfully corrected my 4 levels of cervical herniations with an emergency, 7 hour, highly risky set of fusions and discectomies. He is highly skilled! With a stellar reputation! He is the "fixer" of other neurosurgeon mistakes. His staff is kind, responsive, caring and professional. I feel blessed to have found him! I give Dr. Taban my highest absolute recommendation!!

Dr. Taban is a wonderful doctor. I would recommend him to family and friends. He is caring, knowledgeable, and patient. He answered all of my questions and made it very easy for me to make a decision to have surgery. The surgery went very well. I am very happy and elated to be one of his patients. Among all of the doctors I have had in the past, he is rated as number one in my book.

There is no way I can ever thank you for being such an awesome doctor. You've stuck by us through the tough times. We are extremely lucky to be taken care of by you, my whole family is. I had severe pain generating from lower back down both sides down both legs. I was in constant pain. Dr. Taban told me the surgery would help. I had the surgery and am happy to say he was right. Since the surgery there hasn't been any pain where it was before. I am still recovering but my pain is much better and much more manageable. I have to thank God for Dr. Taban. I am on a good road to recovery. I shooting for 100%

4 years ago my daughter couldn't walk without a walker and was in pain for 16months before we saw Dr Taban. When we meet with him he took the time to explain our options in great detail. He is compassionate kind and a genius. To see my daughter today you would have no idea she had disc replacement and spinal fusion. She's 26 now and wake boards hikes paddle boards etc. this man is my MIRACLE DOCTOR. Ellen is a doll very helful and compassionate! THANK YOU for giving my daughter her life back.

It's been a few months since my surgery and not a day goes by that I am not beyond grateful for the positive impact you have had on my life. Last year, I couldn't have imagined living pain-free. It seemed like a far-away dream. Because of my lower back and leg pain, I was not able to walk or sleep. Now, because of your incredible skill, that dream has become a reality. I could write a lot about Dr Asher Taban and his office staff, but to sum it up quickly and efficiently, the man is a genius! I did my homework before seeing him and he got high praise from everyone. And I am right there alongside each of them. When dealing with something as delicate as back surgery, you want a genius on your side. Bottom line! Enough said!!

I am incredibly grateful to be sent to Dr. Asher Taban by my primary care doctor. I had months of back pain which traveled down my left leg and hip, making it difficult to walk and I was in pain no matter what I did; walking, sitting, standing, lying down were all painful positions. When Dr. Taban met me he was kind, patient, and informative. It's three months after surgery and I have no pain. His surgical skill enabled me to return to my active life as a theater professor and dancer.

I had a serious back problem and the pain was radiating down my leg. I had to wait an hour and a half before I saw him. When I saw him he was very rude and angry and impatient. When I tried to ask him a question, he told me to sit down and be quiet; he said the surgery was very difficult and dangerous and he would not explain in any detail what the surgery involved. The nurses were not any better; they all took his side I left his office completely humiliated and in shock-and worse pain.
