I am very grateful for meeting Dr. Said. He has changed and improved my quality of life. I had septoplasty with turbinate reduction a few months ago with Dr. Said and couldn’t be happier. I am breathing and sleeping much better than I have been in years due to my deviated septum and enlarged turbinates. Dr. Said made me feel welcomed from the moment I met him and explained the process the whole way through. He is compassionate and caring and really put me at ease with this procedure. Even after post op, he was able fit me into his busy schedule to check and make sure everything was healing properly and to clean/ clear my nose. I was referred over by insurance after I had previously seen two other doctors who misdiagnosed my condition and treatment. After a quick visit I met with the doc who was very polite, mater of fact, and answered all my questions. I told him my symptoms and told him of my previous visits with the doctor. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out my septum was severely deviated but after examination he agreed and said the visuals were consistent with symptoms I expressed. I work in sports medicine and deal with a lot of orthopedic doctors. My sense of a good doctor is extremely strong and I was very comfortable with this doctor. He gave me my options and highly recommended surgery. I of course agreed because my whole life has been upside down and regulated around my breathing problems. The surgery was a success. Greatest decision I’ve ever made in my life. My whole life is now easier not having to constantly battle my breathing problems. The Doctor told me my nose was a serious battle because it had calcified so much (I am a boxer and martial artist with multiple nose breaks). He explained what he did and the specific complexities with my nose. This only strengthened my already strong trust and belief in this doctor. Took no time to discuss my problem. First time visit didn’t even take my blood pressures. Every other doctor always takes my blood pressure. He is an exceptional doctor.Very patient. Listen to the patient, humorous. I am learning English and my first language is Portuguese Brazil. He had patience in listening to my American husband, talking on the phone to help translate my symptoms. He has empathy. And gave all the necessary guidance he needed. It gave me confidence !! Scheduled an appointment for my husband just the other day and was able to get in the following day due to a cancellation. My husband showed up to the appointment in time approached the reception desk only to have the window slammed shut in front of his face with the receptionist looking right at him. I'm sure you can imagine how upset he was after having been treated so unprofessionally. An older lady in the waiting room turned to him and stated that this same receptionist had done the same thing to her. Obviously in shock my husband stood there waiting patiently for 5 minutes until the same lady behind him suggested that my husband take a seat until the receptionist CHOSE to acknowledge him because she had not opened the window for her as well. Another woman stated she had been waiting an hour just to be seen. My husband had been having issues with his ear. He had seen his primary and was prescribed medications but his ear still 4 weeks in still felt clogged. He was examined and was told everything had appeared okay and that he would wanted to conduct a hearing test. I have seen Dr. Said in the past and had a good experience with him but after how my husband was treated he has no desire to return back to this office due in part to the customer service he experienced. He has resorted to making another appointment with another ENT to get a second opinion. It's a shame because Dr. Said seemed to be a good doctor but if a patient comes in to be treated so just checking in, it's not a good reflection on his practice. Obviously not the first time since the lady in the waiting room confirmed this. I hope that Dr. Said will take this review and address this with this particular employee. My Husband Juan Garcia was referred to the Ears Nose & Throat Specialist (ENT) Dr. Bassem Said, M.D. Dr.Said is a Wonderful, Caring & Personable Physician. My husband usually has lots of Anxiety and fear going to the Hospital or Doctors Office, but Dr. Said right away made him feel comfortable. He is very Polite and So Professional as well. He explained from A-Z about his Surgery, what exactly he was going to do, How he was going to feel right after surgery, and Post Operatively as well. Everything was to a Perfect T. I would give Dr. Said a "PLUS 10." He is Exceptional. I called Dr. Said's office this morning as I had a nose bleed that I could not stop. Since I am on blood thinners, his office staff (Margie) got me in right away. I liked Dr. Said manner with me as he was gentle, professional and friendly. He took the time to explain why I was having these issues and how to best take care of them if they happen again.

I was pleased with my visit today.Dr. is very good.

He treated my mum with a warm kindness.Was really knowledgeable about my mum's diagnosis and resolved her problems promptly with a one time treatment. Dr Said is highly recommended.

Awesome experience! Not good results, but great experience with Dr. Said and his staff! I really feel that he cared about me, and not just the bill! I recommend to anyone. Didn't pressure me for any add-ons, or anything of the sort. Definitely a great experience!

Dr Said is and excellent Doctor. Hes helpful, courteous, kind and very knowledgable. I've seen him on three seperate occasions and I've been pleased with him each time. I would 1st like to say how happy I am that I met Dr. Said. From the first time I stepped into there office the staff where kind, caring, and a great pleasure to deal with. The knowledge that Dr. Said has for my sleep apnea is second to none in my book. He has helped change mine and my families lives now forever. He had me do a sleep study and get on a CPAP machine. My blood pressure went down to normal, no more necessary naps during the day, and I can sleep next to my wife with out her leaving in the middle of the night because I snored. I just want to let everyone know how special these people are. Thank you for everything you have done for my family. You are such an amazing person. I've had a great experience so far in regards of my UPPP surgery. I am able to sleep with no gasping and no use of my cpap machine anymore! It's amazing work that Dr Said was able to perform. I am more energetic and more capable of helping with my two toddlers. I would definitely do it all over again. Dr Said is very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to and ask questions. Great work! My mother and I took my 90 year old grandmother with dementia to see Dr. Bassem Said. She had started having nose bleeds and was in the emergency room the day before. I do have to say that even though they were booked they did schedule my grandmother in between his other patients. My grandmother’s nose had started to bleed in the car while we were going to his office but nothing like it had been. So when we walked into the office the front desk lady took us right into the room. About 10 minutes later Dr. Bassem Said, came in. We told him that the blood on her blouse was from the ride over here. And he said “IT LOOKS LIKE OLD DRY BLOOD”? My mother and I looked at each other in disbelieve. Is he saying we got her dressed and put an old bloody blouse on her!!! He then said “well she’s not bleeding now not sure what you want me to do” I said can you look inside her nose and try to find the problem? So he did “nothing he said” He then said he could do one of two things. 1. Send us home with spray OR 2. Put a pack inside her nose just in case it starts again. We asked him what he would do. He said the pack. So we agreed. As soon as he started to put it in her nose it was like turning on a water faucet. My grandmother started choking on her own blood and he was telling her in a loud voice “be still or I can’t do this” over and over again. My grandmother is crying and in a lot of pain as he is shoving things in her nose. I had to grab her teeth out of her mouth because they were now swimming in her blood. As she is still bleeding, he walks out of the room (not saying a word to us) he comes back with one of his staff who just stood there. He finally gets two packs in her right nose and one in the left. As there is blood everywhere he says “you can take her to the emergency room if we want”! WHAT!!! We are now wheeling my grandmother out of his office in her wheelchair trying to clean her up at the same time. When we get to the parking lot of his office, she is really choking she says “she can’t breathe”. I called 911 from his parking lot. When the Fire Dept and the ambulance got there, they asked “where is the doctor”? And “why didn’t he call us”? You can imagine what I said about the doctor @#!%! They got my grandmother in the ambulance and she was still choking they could see, that the packing he put in her nose had slipped into her throat and she was choking on it. My mother ran inside told the doctor and he came out and took some of the air out of the packing pulled it from inside her throat and re-taped it on her face and then left. When we got to John Muir Hospital another ENT doctor had to take the packing out and put in a better/ safer one. I would not recommend Dr. Bassem Said to anyone. Thank you for reading my review. Dr. Said is professional, articulate, intelligent, and thorough and at the same time warm, caring and sincere. That is quite a difficult balance to strike, however Dr. Said does so with ease!
