Dr. McArthur was very personable. He attentively listened to my symptoms, asking me questions and then explaining the best option for me. I have complete confidence in knowledge and his decision for me.

I’ve had first of two total knee replacement with him. Great job of expectation setting in advance of surgery and top notch job.

Dr. McArthur was brilliant in treating in my complex PCL and MCL tears along with a Lateral Tibia fracture. The doc brings a very calming presence and is not rushed at all. He spends a lot of time very meticulous explaining the situation, prognosis, diagnosis and treatment plans with you. His reaffirmation was really important coz I initially thought I had a major injury that I would never get over but he was positive and supportive of wanting to find a solution together. His staff are also very helpful and informed. I would definitely recommend this ortho specialist big time. Just had my 2nd Total Knee Replacement with Dr. McArthur and team about 11 days ago. I am doing very well in my recovery. One of the things I love about how this group handles the entire surgery experience, is every step is detailed and you are contacted to make all off the necessary pre- op and post-op appts. I am exceedingly pleased with Dr. McArthur. I have seen him concerning several issues. He listens, explains, and then I make my decisions. His staff is efficient and quite pleasant. I am thrilled to have him at the Lakeway location. Texas Orthopedic is fortunate to have him associated as a member of their team.

Great consult that was informative and straightforward. Shared with my daughter via FaceTime. He was thorough and answered all our questions.

Efficient check in/out process. Dr McArthur is easy to talk to and had great suggestions to manage my knee pain and arthritis.

Once you get past the 25 minute patient information records, the appointment was very good, to the point, all questions answered and concerns set aside.

I would not necessarily recommend to family or friends because the diagnosis was general and did not show me the actual areas that were affected. I felt like it was a template diagnosis and it wasn't customized to my specific issues. Any one who goes should make sure the doctor goes into detail about their specific issues instead of giving you a general diagnosis.

I know Dr. McArthur has many good reviews here, but I wasn't impressed. He diagnosed me with gout. About that: (1) He said it's generally caused by meat and shellfish, so I told him I don't eat those (not since 1985, and never in my life, respectively), then he said that sometimes the cause is unknown. After I left his office I looked it up and found that it can be caused by weight loss, and I have indeed been losing weight (intentionally) recently. I would have preferred to have gotten the answer from him (after all, I was paying for his expertise) rather than leaving the office confused and having to look it up myself. (2) He prescribed indomethacin, didn't review side effects and risks, and didn't compare it with other medications available. That's important, because when I looked up the drug: (3) Indomethacin seems to be the most dangerous of the drugs for gout, and it's no more effective than the safer medicines. There's more, but content length is limited here.

Well first of all my appointment was at 11:00 and I didn’t get called until 11:45, yet they tell me to me there 20 minutes early. ????. I really was streamlined when I got in the exam room. From a consult with the resident Dr who was FANTASTIC. Then after my X-ray the resident comes back in and tells me I’ve broken my foot ! Then, a few minutes later Dr McArthur walks in . He was cordial but just kinda starched collar . He wasn’t ugly , but seemed like I was just a streamline patient . Kudos to the resident who put me in an air cast and told me how to use it rather than my surgeon? Dr wants to see me in two weeks to see my progress ? I guess Dr McArthur was a good Doctor but just needs to chill a little . Awesome surgeon!

Everyone was very nice doctor was straight to the point and explained everything to me.

The best Surgeon Dr Mc Arthur. He replaced my left hip and will be replacing the right hip.

I am extremely satisfied with the service I have received giving all the pain I was going through at the moment. Benjamin McArthur what's extremely knowledgeable and explained everything as far as my options regarding the next procedures. The staff was amazing as well. I was in and out before I knew it faster than I expected!

Dr. McArthur has always been pleasant, takes his time to address all the issues that come up in our visits. Very friendly and courteous staff, too.

I was having pain in my right knee. Dr. McCarthur was precise and informative with his diagnosis and is proceeding with additional tests to confirm his findings.

Dr McArthur is very good at what he does and will take the time to listen to my concerns. He’s not about being in a big rush to get to the next patient like so many doctors are nowadays .

I have been seeing Dr McArthur for over a year and in that time received a new lease on life. I received my new hip In March. It is now end of April and I feel great, better than great!! I use to have severe knee and lower leg pain. I couldn't sleep the pain was so bad! I don't have that pain or the hip pain anymore. I will be forever grateful for the excellent team of individuals who work at Texas Orthopedics who took great care of me. If I had questions they were answered. They were kind and caring! They will never be forgotten!

I’m so happy I chose Dr McArthur. Both of my hips have been painful for over a year now especially my left one. I went to Dr. McArthur expecting to explain my symptoms and having to go back for treatment. He took care of me on that very first appointment. They did x-rays and said my hip bones and joints looked great and told me I have bursitis and gave me injections in both hips on that very first appointment. I have zero pain right now, I feel better today than I have in two years thanks to Dr. McArthur. I am so happy I found him. Great staff everyone was so friendly.

Dr. McArthur takes wonderful care of my 98 year old mom, who has seen him for several years. He listens, tries to help relieve her various pains, whether it’s the hip, elbow, or back. He has been successful where others have not, in giving her a steroid shot that pinpoints her hip pain. She thinks he’s the best!

Dr. McArthur is outstanding as a specialist & surgeon. After breaking my ankle, he insured that as my surgeon, bone & other repairs accommodated my special-needs related to neuromuscular atrophy; and after a few months, I am back on my feet. His office team also helped me access physical therapy and other supports. I highly recommend Dr. mcArthur!

Dr. McArthur made me feel at ease. He was genuinely concerned and gave a thorough exam.

Dr. McArthur could not have given me less of his attention. I came in with a very specific issue and he seemed to not care. After explaining my issue, being rib pain, he immediately began to check out my shoulder and once it seemed that there wasn't a need for surgery, he moved on. Very disappointed by my experience for I felt that despite the fact that I paid my co-pay, I did not receive service.

Dr Benjamin McArthur has been my doctor for about a year. I came to him with painful arthritis of the knee and so far cortisone injections have done the trick. He assures me that surgery will be the last resort. His professionalism, medical knowledge and his friendly and caring manner has made it a pleasure to visit him as needed. I would highly recommend Dr Mc Arthur to anyone.

I had my right hip replaced due to a fall. Dr. McArthur is a fantastic surgeon - my surgery went very well. My recovery is amazing - walking with a cane the next day. He is very skillful surgeon and is great at making his patient feel at ease with his knowledge and bedside manner.

The administrative people with Texas Orthopedics have me confused with another patient. This doctor is not my doctor and they keep sending me information about him and making appointments for me with him. I will say that my doctor, Dr. Zach Logan, with Texas Orthopedics was exceptionally good. Their staff is lacking, however.

I had a knee replacement then two surgeries after. Dr, McArthur did a wonderful job on my repairs and I am very happy to be mobile again and pain free!

The process of getting into Dr. McArthur was painless and quick. I only had to wait a week, and that was more my schedule rather than his. He had appointments available soon for new patients. They give the patient the option to check in online before the appointment, and I definitely recommend that. It cuts down on time the day of the appointment. I didn't have to wait long in the waiting room or in the exam room. There was a little trouble with the medication the Dr. McArthur prescribed, an interaction with another medicine I'm on, and they are working on getting a different one through my insurance now, which I can't blame Dr. McArthur about the wait. My insurance is the problem right now. I would absolutely recommend him, his office, and any of their doctors to any friends or family needing an orthopedist. Dr mcaruther is a caring doctor with his patients. I am happy to be a patient of his. I had a knee replacement surgery and he did a fine job. I had a second surgery for infection but he helped me get better. I was in a nursing home both times. They took care of me as well. Dr McAruther is a wonderful doctor who cares about his patients and I recommend him to my friends. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I am able to take walks again. Very caring for his patients. I am a high risk patient and he took every precaution to keep me safe.

It was done as it should be. Some Drs will not acknowledge that the patient actually might know something. Dr. McA is not one of those.

In the span of only 1 and a half months I had my condition diagnosed, surgery scheduled, and my procedure completed. During every appointment Dr. MacArthur was very communicative and responsive to me questions. He explained things in ways I understood, and he made me feel comfortable asking further questions when I wanted to. Overall my experience was better than I could have ever expected.

He listens, he is concerned and doesn’t rush you through. He is a great surgeon. He did my husband’s hip reversion and what could have been a different outcome he used his judgment did the surgery another way and saved Larry months of suffering and trouble. He is our hero. Now he is treating me for my shoulder. I would highly recommend him for any hip, knee or shoulder problem you have.
