Dr. Brenda Heike Montecalvo

I just had an appointment with Dr. Montecalvo. I'm 50 and have struggled with my vision and my prescriptions for years. In a bind, I decided to try her clinic while visiting Ohio for work. It was the best thing I could have ever done. I haven't seen this good in YEARS, ten or more for sure. I was a bit caught off guard when she began testing me for many things but THANK GOODNESS! If I'd have continued with my local eye Dr. I'm convinced I wouldn't have known that I have the beginning stages of macular degeneration, histo posts on my retina, dry eyes, and something else that was throwing off my regular Dr. resulting in him giving me scripts for astigmatism - which I didn't actually have or need. She is so skillful, making sure to do what I needed. She truly cared for me and my eyes. I had no idea that I could see well again and thank God I know about the macular degeneration so I can watch that. So happy and convinced of the need for a great eye exam. Niccie

Dr. Montecalvo has been my eye care professional for many years now, since 2008-2009. I began with her office when I contacted them regarding vision therapy. I have Cerebral Palsy, and strabismus relative to it had robbed me of binocular vision, and I had always wanted to see in true 3D, binocularly. Even though I was ~38 at the time, and very skeptical, Dr. M and her team worked with me and were able to successfully retrain my brain to bring me binocularity! It was transformative, and made everything I do easier, and the world more vibrant and interesting than it had ever been without "stereo" vision! Furthermore, the Doctor and her team have consistently provided me the best, and most thorough eye care I have ever experienced. She and her team will provide her patients nothing but the absolute best of care, using the most modern tools and methods available. Dr. Montecalco did an eye exam on me that led to a bunch of tests. The insurance would not pay. The office kept billing me for a large sum of money. The office insisted it was my responsibility to pay and maintained that stance. I held firm in that it was an insurance related medical issue and that I was not paying the bill. The office needed to figure it out and stop billing me. Finally, after many phone calls and talking with various staff it was determined that it was indeed an issue caused by them. They resubmitted the bill with insurance correctly and everything was paid for. I got the new glasses based on Dr. Montecalvo's exam and could not see well with them. I went back 3 months later after being told to give them some time and wear them everyday. Got the royal run-around. It took 3 in person visits to find out that the prescription Dr. Montecalvo gave me was incorrect. This was verified by another doctor in the practice who was kind enough to do another eye exa

Dr. Montecalvo is very thorough. She took the time with my kids when they were little and found things other doctors had missed. We would able to do exercises to correct my daughter minor lazy eye issue. When I started having trouble with my vision, I knew I needed to come see her.

My daughter has a lazy eye and Dr. Montecalvo used vision therapy to correct it. There was a visually obvious correction in the straightening of her eyes and she stopped running into walls all the time. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Montecalvo for all vision needs.
