I have been seeing Dr. Watson for several years now and have always been treated with respect and courtesy. However, on today's visit, the front-end staff acted as if they shouldn't have to bother with common courtesy.

Dr. Watson saw me for knee pain I'd been having for years. Surprisingly he was the first (of many) doctors who went through the trouble of testing everything he could until we came to a proper diagnosis. He ended up doing a full ACL reconstruction on my right knee and it has been healing phenomenally. Special word to military members: Dr. Watson served in the past as well and he knows what military members need, whether it be to get better to keep up with PT or to make sure that you're properly compensated for your injuries when you leave service. Couldn't recommend him more highly in general, but especially to military folks. Dr. Watson saw me for knee pain I'd been having for years. Over 8 yrs ago, my husband had a knee replacement by Dr. Watson. Nine months later it got infected. An experimental port was put in his knee that allowed local access for injection of vencomycin. Unfortunately the peripheral line in his brachial artery, developed clots around it near the insertion site. This was troubling because from the peripheral insertion site was less than 18” and if a clot had broken off it would’ve gone to his heart and possibly brain causing a CVA. When the ER doc helping my husband, inquired of Colleen, his PA, she simply said to send him home. Which would’ve been a death sentence for my husband. Allegedly, it appears both Dr. Watson and Colleen were both negligent and cared more about there reputations instead of their patient and had callous disregard for my husband, their patient which nearly cost him his legal or his life!! I broke my leg in several places; it’s splinted straight above the knee and non-weight bearing. I sprained my other ankle, it’s also my weak leg due to neuropathy from MS. They referred me to Dr. Watson for surgery. Went for consult, gave them my pre-op info (I’m disabled, cannot bear weight); went back for surgery & Dr.Watson’s staff refused to let me borrow crutches to get from car to wheelchair. I told them that I have MS, w/neuropathy and a sprained ‘good’ ankle. They are an orthopedic surgeon and they insisted they did not have any crutches or canes I could borrow for 1 minute. They said they’d just lift me from car to wheelchair, and I could just “hop” on my (neuropathic/weak/sprained) ankle. That’s dangerous so I declined, and I had to go home for my crutches; drove back and got from car to wheelchair and went inside to check-in. Then they wouldn’t let me keep my crutches with me! They wheeled me to another room and expected me to stand, remove clothes, get onto gurney without crutches. The nurse who was much smaller than me said she’d just “hold me up” and I could “hop”, which seems completely unsafe.. and ableist. When I declined being held up, she relented and went and got a pair of crutches, telling me I could use them to undress and, fortunately, they wouldn’t charge me for them. (I’m double-insured; I don’t care about money; I came for surgery with a competent surgeon and his staff). I was completely uncomfortable with the situation— these people are *PERFORMING SURGERY* but they cannot properly transport an injured, disabled patient. They did not read my pre-op information and gave zero consideration to my needs or my disability. Very poor patient advocacy. Painful & traumatic experience. I left without getting surgery because I did not trust them. I wasted precious time waiting for my surgical appointment and now I have to start all over. If Mt Ogden Surgical Center had told me they do not allow assistive devices for disabled people (is that even legal?!) I would have gone elsewhere to begin with. It should be noted that Dr Watson partially cut off my splint from the ER and did not reattach it properly. He has not called to check in with me since I left the surgical center. I guess he doesn’t see me as his patient any longer. Interesting approach to “healthcare”. I broke my leg in several places; it’s splinted straight above the knee and non-weight bearing. My 16 year old son had his ACL repaired by Dr. Watson. He explained all the options and made my son feel like he was making all the decisions. We have been extremely happy and his knee has progressed well. The people in his office have been helpful throughout and know us by name when we walk in. His PA is wonderful. Two days after surgery, she spent about 20 minutes on the phone with us answering questions that we had neglected to ask during post op. My first interaction with Dr. Watson was late 2019, basically a preliminary check of both knees. I needed a double TKR procedure. Dr. Watson was very thorough in explaining what he would be doing and what I should expect before and after surgery. He made sure I had the correct home therapy equipment and a physical therapist based on my needs. My recovery was initially tough, but Dr. Watson was quick to resolve my problems. I am extremely happy with his attentiveness and concern for my well-being. So much so, that after two and a half months I asked about doing my second knee. He agreed and we went ahead with the TKR of my left knee. I cannot express enough how happy I am that I finally did this, and how happy I am with Dr. Watson. He did not take affront to my numerous questions, was always professional and forthright. I am happy with the response that I received from his support staff as well. Happy to recommend Dr. Brent Watson to anyone needing a Total Knee Replacement.

I am 45 years old and I have had two ACL's repaired by Dr Watson. Both have resulted in excellent outcomes. The most recent surgery was February 2020. Dr Watson gave me options for surgery and was very open and honest about what to expect and anticipate through the whole process. I would recommend the femoral block as it will greatly reduce the amount of pain you will feel post surgery. Even though Physical Therapy is not easy nor pain free I would recommend using all your available visits. The more you put into physical therapy the faster you will recover, gain strength, and stability. I had full range of motion within 3 months post surgery. I am now almost 7 months post surgery and functioning extremely well. Dr Watson is an amazing Orthopedic Surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

5 years ago Doctor Watson operated on my shoulder for a torn labrum. After the surgery was complete I was still having major issues with range of motion and popping. When I spoke with him I was told "that's expected" and to find ways to cope with it, or schedule another surgery. Mind you, this was after very minimal examination. He moved my shoulder around a bit and made a quick call that nothing was wrong. 2 years later I got a second surgery from another surgeon who found a SECOND tear in my labrum that was never fixed by Doctor Watson. I attribute years of chronic pain and inability to Doctor Watson's negligence. 5 years ago Doctor Watson operated on my shoulder for a torn labrum. My 16 year old daughter had surgery performed by Dr. Watson for a torn ACL and meniscus in January of 2017. Before the surgery, Dr. Watson was incredibly informative and took the time to answer questions and address concerns with professionalism. However, my daughter's recovery was exactly like that listed above by Kimberly Robinson....excruciating pain coming out of surgery, extended swelling, limited mobility despite 9 months of physical therapy. At her 2 month check, we saw Dr. Watson's PA, who was rude, combative, defensive and unprofessional without any provocation. We know Dr. Watson was informed of this situation and we were never given an apology for this ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE behavior from a medical professional. At 6 months, Dr. Watson released my daughter from his care and she was not fully recovered. She ended up having surgery one year later by a different orthopedic to remove a "cyclops" of scar tissue behind her knee cap and the bio-composite screw that was placed by Dr. Watson in the front of her knee, which was causing her pain and preventing her from kneeling on it. Her meniscus was shredded and could not be repaired and 30% of it had to be removed. She was finally able to regain motion and heal. We are so grateful to this second surgeon and wish we had waited for him initially to perform the surgery. Dr. Watson came highly recommended. The pain was over the top coming out of surgery. The swelling wouldn't go down. There is very limited mobility in the knee despite tons of physical therapy etc. over the last 5 months. I dont know how much of that Dr. Watson could control but there is still weird popping etc. 5 months later. The only suggestion being given is additional surgery and more physical therapy. The physical therapy isn't helping anymore. Acquaintances have had ACL surgery in the last 5 months and already recovered to full mobility. They did not experience the pain, swelling, etc. that has been the case here. I wish we would have gone to their doctor. There was less discomfort before surgery. Dr. Watson came highly recommended. I've had two surgeries with Dr. Watson. Torn labrum in left shoulder, torn rotator cuff and labrum in my right shoulder. Both repair surgeries were performed w/biceps tenedisis. It's been two years since my first surgery and 7 months since my second. I am in the military and was worried several times when shoulders popped out during physical training.
