Best orthopedist in Utah for sure! Did an amazing job on my knee! thank you Dr. Fukushima!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overall felt like an incredibly dehumanizing experience, I felt as though my thoughts and experiences were never heard. The treatment I received from the staff reminds me of the way middle aged women at church treat children. Big trigger as someone with social anxiety.
Horrible time management on the doctors and the receptionists part. They aren’t great at communicating. And it seems like there were a lot of other disgruntled patients there so I was not pleased that they treat all their patients so poorly. People who didn’t have appointments were coming in complaining about their mothers care. Do not recommend this place at all. Horrible time management on the doctors and the receptionists part. My wrist healed wrong he sat. He shouldn't take trauma patients and not be willing to take Medicaid. I was not happy with his service! Wouldn't recommend.
I can tell the front office need more training. You can’t get answers, wait in line until some one notices you. I heard a March madness comment and we’ll that’s not right. They expect to get paid but bad customer service over all I didn’t like visit. Intermountain needs better offices for their contract license physicians. Also when I set up the appointment the lady who helped didn’t bother to tell me it was upstairs and also that they had an elevator. I had my grandma on wheel chair I had to pull my grandma in the chair through the staircase. I can tell the front office need more training. Bryan reconstructed my ACL. IT was a bad tear. He was wonderful. !! The best !! If he says you don't need a certain thing. Then listen to him . He's right and fair
Dr Fukushima was great to work with. First was a broken collarbone and then with a torn rotator cuff. His explanation of what was happening with each injury was very clear and easy to understand. His optimism and enthusiasm for “getting back at it” was encouraging and motivating! I hope I don’t have the need for another orthopedic doctor next season, but if I do, I know where to go.

I went there years ago and waited for over an hour. I finally went and told the receptionist I wanted my co-pay back. I then asked where do I send my bill for my wait??? She wasn't amused. I was serious!

The power was out the day of my firsr appointment at this office. The Dr saw me and wanted to get an MRI done on my knee. The office staff took a full week before submitting paperwork for pre-authorization, and only after I called and asked them to do it every day for a week. (I had to give them my insurance info 3 different times!) The insurance came back on the pre-auth denied because they needed an xray first (this would have been taken the day of my appointment if their power wasn't out). I called back to the office after speaking with my insurance and they couldn't fit me in for over a month for just an xray. I will be going somewhere else because I have done nothing but waste a month of my time with with office and still have no answers as to what is causing daily pain in my knee. I'm incredibly disappointed with the level of care this office had provided when their patient has told them the amount of pain they are going through each day. I would not recommend them to anyone experiencing pain! I shouldnt have to call every day to remind the office staff to do their job. It shouldn't take over 2 months to get answers as to what is wrong with my knee. Absolutely terrible experience! The power was out the day of my firsr appointment at this office. I went in for knee surgery (torn meniscus on both sides of my knee with Dr. Fukushima. About 6 months later (after being released from physical therapy) my knee was still bothering me quite a bit. I made an appointment with Dr. Fukushima requesting a follow up MRI because I truly felt it wasn't fixed or still had some major issues. He refused to do an MRI and told me he would just give me a cortisone shot. I told him that I felt that I shouldn't need a shot if I just had surgery and it was taken care of. Again, he refused to do anything besides a shot. I called him again a few months later - still in the same amount of pain. Again, no MRI and a cortisone shot was his answer. I then decided to go see another Dr for a second opinion. This Dr. immediately informed me that my meniscus on one side was still torn and I needed surgery to fix it. I then decided to see yet another Dr to get an MRI and verify what exactly was wrong. This Dr did the MRI and sure enough, my meniscus was still torn. In fact, the MRI showed that it wasn't even repaired the way that Dr Fukushima claimed that it was. I am now going in for surgery yet again because of something that wasn't fixed in the first place by Dr. Fukushima. What's even more bothersome is the fact that he refused to check it and instead wanted to give me a shot without knowing fully what was wrong. Dr Fukushima fixed my shoulder after Dr Benjamin Widmer performed a botched surgery that didn't fix the issues. My shoulder (while not perfect) is a far cry better now. I'm so thankful he took the time to listen to me and to help me with it after Dr Widmer blew me off after realizing he messed up. Thank you Dr Brian Fukushima! Dr. Fukushima is wonderful great bedside manner did surgery on my shoulder and will probably be doing another surgery on my shoulder and he also did surgery on my husband as well. He has great bedside manner and is really easy to talk to. He listens and makes sure that your needs are met. My husband has had two knee surgeries performed by him and he was in very capable hands. He explained everything that would happen whilst in surgery, he had scope pictures to show us and went through all of them in detail with the both of us. 5 years ago and then three years later Dr. Fukushima repaired both of my rotator cuffs. My left first and then my right second. He is a very skilled surgeon and takes time to listen to your needs. I strongly recommend this doctor to be your surgeon.
Amazing Orthopedic Surgeon! Two shoulder surgeries one with a tendon repair (right shoulder 2004). Left shoulder 2008 also tendon issue and rotator cuff. Currently he is addressing arthritis issues in both my knees. Brian does not “rush” to surgery unless absolutely necessary. Thorough, great to explain all options, kind and considerate. His MA Tracy is a joy as well. I can honestly say that Utah Orthopaedic Specialists are the BEST.
Dr Fukushima gave me very objective options on how to handle my torn rotator cuff. When i decided to have surgery, I was very happy with the doctor's service, care, attention and the results. I had great recovery and felt very confident in dr. Fukushima's service.

Had an amazing collarbone surgery performed by dr Fukushima. Follow ups were a breeze and dr Fukushima was always honest and upfront on expectations.
Dr. Fukushima treated me at the Brighton emergency clinic when I broke my wrist, and always communicated everything I needed to know very clearly. Would definitely recommend working with him!
Dr Fukushima was very professional, and made this surgical experience a pleasant one. I would recommend him to anyone seeking an opinion, or surgery. The office staff were also very professional, and very efficient.
As much as I hate to say I love doctors if you have to love a doctor he is the best. My wife has visited him for surgery, I have visited him for surgery, and my oldest daughter had to have surgery. I have what was dubbed a "catastrophic knee injury". I am nearly five months in and the most impressive thing is that Dr. Fukushima has been able to help my PCL heal without surgery. Finding a surgeon who will do what is best for my knee even when it keeps him out of the operating room has been awesome.
Dr. Fukushima was great from the moment I met him. He evaluated my injury at the ski resort and got me in for an MRI pretty quickly. He laid out the best and worse case scenario's for me and talked through all of my options. I'm grateful he is my knee guy.
20 years after a knee injury, Dr Fukushima has helped improve my mobility. Now I’m golfing and running with ease. He is currently helping with my shoulder and elbow. I have referred friends and family because of the professionalism at his office. Keep it up!!
Dr. Fukushima is an awesome Dr. My 2 year old daughter fell and hurt her shoulder. He treated her and gave us peace of mind. He was nice and actually cared about her as a person not just a patient.
Dr. Fukushima has been my surgeon for two operations - shoulder and knee. I have full confidence in him as a surgeon, and both operations have been successful! He is patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Dr. Brian Fukushima is the most professional, polite, kind and competent physician I have ever met, and I have worked professionally in the health care field my entire life. Dr Fukushima is aswome! He surgically repaired my broken patella by removing part of the broken bone and reattaching tendons (previously attached to that piece) to the remaining patella in my knee. I am almost through with therapy and my knee is close to 100%. Dr Fukushima is personable, answers all my questions, and is a great surgeon!

Went in today for an examination. A little long of a wait but on arrival Dr. Fukushima was friendly and efficient. He was helpful and knowledgeable and did the tests with minimal discomfort. He was open about options and conservative on recommendations. He answered my question but spoke fast and his handwriting was hard to read and so be ready to take quick notes. Overall, I will likely recommend this doctor.

I just love Dr. Fulushima! Super intelligent. Great surgeon. Great bedside manner. Always on time!!!
Very clear and concise in explaining my different treatment options. Always had my best interest at heart in mapping out a course of action for treatment/recovery. Very personable and has excellent bedside manner. I highly recommend him!
Dr. Fukashima is an awesome guy! He fixed my busted clavicle which broke in 4 different places. It's been a few months since then and I feel great.
Excellent choice for a shoulder surgeon. He is a master at his craft and he did an excellent job on my AC joint. Had an arthroscopy and it turned out great as I expected it would. He goes out of his way to get you back in action.

Two highly respected ortho surgeons told me that both of my knees had to come out. I sought another opinion from Dr. Fukushima. He told me not to let them touch me with a knife, yet; that we had several other options and my knees would last another three years. I took his advice. It is now three years later and I have lived a good life, skiing, golf, walking with my dogs and grandkids. But, the knees are now finally shot. Going again to see him for his input as to a surgeon. I recommend him.
He was very rushed and did not take the time to explain his diagnosis to me. He was condescending and rude.
I can not say enough good things about this doctor. He is so personable, he talks to you as long as you have questions, he explains things so anyone can understand it, he's so kind and caring, he has The Best bedside manner. I will be his paient for life!

Dr Fukashima healed me. My shoulder was very damaged and now a year later after surgury and doing what he said to do, I am able to bench press again and play sports. The man is a healer!
Dr fukashima is the best . He gives A+ service . He's very informative and helps you understand your shoulder problems He's spot on with the shoulder shots & hits the right spot everytime and inserts that needle very gently

Horrible - Charged $174 for a shot - they call it an injection and so the insurance bills as part of your deductible or major surgical procedure. A 10 min office visit with $50 co-pay insurance cost me an additional $174.....buyer beware!
I've had surgeries in the past on knees, hands and neck. I interviewed 3 orthopedics before choosing a surgeon for shoulder surgery. I talked to Dr. Fukushima about my shoulder pain. We took xrays to rule out bone problems and then I decided to get a scan done to further diagnose the cause of the pain. He found a SLAP tear and suggested some non surgical ways to treat my problem. I decided to do surgery to get a more long term fix. During the surgery he also repaired a rotator cuff tear and remodeled the bone to reduce the impingement on the tendons. He was good at taking the time to explain the procedures and the anatomy and he was not in a big rush to do surgery. I felt he was thorough and I am happy with his work as my shoulder is back as good as ever. I liked Dr. fukushima and I would definitely see him in the future if I have other shoulder problems. His fees were reasonable. I am amazed what these MDs have to write off to insurance companies. The insurance companies are beating the hell out of our docs but I digress. The reason I gave him 4 and not 5 stars was his staff was indifferent and not real friendly. Maybe it was just me. I talked to Dr. Fukushima about my shoulder pain.
