About Dr. Stephen L Miller
Reviews for Dr. Stephen L Miller
He is very Thorough with his diagnosis and let you know it’s exactly going on
If I could leave a negative star then I would. I was referred to this doctor 8 years ago. At the beginning of my heart failure journey. I would book the earliest appointment so my husband could come along with me also thinking we would not have to wait since we were the first appointment. Well we waited sometimes over an hour and then when we got in the office we waited another 30 minutes for him to come in for 5 minutes and never really address my situation and want to order really expensive tests that did not help my situation. Well after a change in insurance a year ago, I was forced to get another doctor. I am now with the heart failure clinic in Murray at the IMC. It is amazing the difference in care and help I have received. I never wait longer than 15 minutes to be seen and then when I get in the office I am able to talk to the doctor for 30 to 45 minutes. It is wonderful. I just got a pacemaker/defibrillator put in from the heart rhythm doctors and I feel amazing. Dr. Miller refused to refer me to another doctor to help me. He should have referred me 8 years ago to heart rhythm because my situation only got worse over the 8 years. I do not recommend this doctor or office to anyone that really values their time and health. You will not get the care you deserve for the amount of money he is charging. I have always felt well taken care of at this office, especially by the Physician Assistant I used to see. I have been going here for over 10 years. The last couple times I have had an appointment I have had to wait for over 2 hours to see the doctor. I don't know who is in charge of making appointments for this office, but they WAY overschedule now. If you don't have anything else to do in your life and can wait FOREVER to see the doctor, then make an appointment, else please do as I am going and go to another provider. There are plenty of good ones out there!

I have been taking my mother to Dr Miller for 3 years and he is ALWAYS late. He doesn't have any time management skills to speak of. We have to always wait, wait and wait some more then be told to reschedule. When we do get in to see him, he goes on some story tangent instead of understanding you were already waiting for at least 2.5 to 3 hours in the waiting room. So we decided to do the telehealth and he still has kept us waiting for over an hour. Is he a good doctor? He changed my mothers medication around several times only to end up right back where we started when we first started bring her to see him. He was always trying to follow some kind of "recipe". Maybe he is a better chef, I don't know. Would I recommend him to anyone...NO I would advise Dr. Miller to sit in one of his patients shoes because it really takes "patience" to have him for a doctor. Looking for another doctor. His staff is very friendly and professional. We will miss seeing them. I have been taking my mother to Dr Miller for 3 years and he is ALWAYS late. Great doctor & staff!!
Dr. Miller saved my life when he found that my widow maker artery was over 80% occluded! If it weren't for him I know I would be dead! He also treats both my mother and grandmother and I wouldn't have it any other way!
Dr. Miller is fantastic but his PA is a really poor fit. I am shocked at the administrative side of things with this office. Awaiting a response from office manager

Been with Doctor Miller for many years thanks to his knowledge and concerning, I am still here. He shares experience and understanding of what he see in test but always takes time to make sure I understand and asks what I would like to do. Thank you good care of me.
Saw Dr. Miller today, he was great. Very professional, friendly, and knowledgable. He listened thoroughly to my concerns, and provided extensive council and options. I would highly recommend. Additionally, the office staff are extremely friendly and polite.
Dr. Miller changed my life. I was overweight, high blood pressure, waiting for another heart attack. Dr. Miller got me on the Keto diet. I have lost 50 pounds (n 7 months), off all my blood pressure meds. Feeling great. Backpacking again. Hunting, fishing, enjoying life again. I can't say enough. He cares.
Quickly diagnosed me after 8 years of being misdiagnosed. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. His staff is all kind and helpful as well.

Doc is GREAT. But good luck with his staff. They are the worst! They have screwed up EVERYTHING anytime we have something we need done. And then lie, make excuses and blame it anyone but themselves. Just do your job! Stop taking advantage of the doctors good nature. And the “Office Manager” only comes in a few hours a week. Hmm...

I did not meet with Dr. Miller, so this review is only about the staff and my experience with testing. The front desk staff was fair, but somewhat impersonal. They were more focused on talking to each other (about personal things) rather than greeting and serving patients. They did not seem welcoming, or warm like at a typical provider's office. I was taken into a room to have an echo by a very nice gentleman, but his English was somewhat poor. That made it difficult to ask and understand the tests that were being done. After the initial test, another test was necessary, so I needed an IV started. I waited quite a long time, and the tech kept apologizing, and leaving the room to track down someone to start the IV. When the other tech finally arrived, I commented that he must be having a very busy day. He remarked that he "had forgotten" that he had a patient waiting for an IV. Once the IV was started, he left the room. Another tech was needed to perform part of the test (one to do something with the IV, and one to actually do the monitoring and capture of the echo), and the woman who came in to help was VERY grumpy and seemed quite irritated. She did not greet me, or acknowledge me in any way. I'm lying on a table, in a dark room, completely exposed from the waist up, and she could not have cared less. She started to leave the room, but my tech called her back and stated that he still needed her help -- he had not gotten all the views he needed. She got even more irritated by this, but did complete the testing. She left the room, and I commented that she seemed very irritated. My tech said that she was grumpy, and doesn't like working with him. He said they all hate me here. He may have been joking, but it was really awkward. The tests were complete, so I got re-dressed, and was brought out to receive a monitoring device that I would wear for 48 hours. That nurse basically handed it to me, and gave a very brief explanation. Since I am recovering from a concussion, I asked if there were written directions I could follow so I wouldn't forget any important information. She started to write some down, but then decided to type up some for me. I'm not sure why instructions don't already exist, but she did provide a brief (2 sentence) printed document. I asked if I was seeing a doctor, or if I needed a follow up appointment, and they said no, the results would be sent to my primary care provider. There was no effort to reassure me, or to encourage me in any way. It was a very poor patient experience throughout all the interactions. I need additional testing, and am on hold right now just to schedule the appointment. It's been 15 minutes so far (which is how I had time to write this review), and I'm still on hold. I will go back to my provider and see if there are any other facilities that can provide the additional testing, and take my insurance, so that I can have (hopefully) a better overall experience. I would NOT recommend this facility, again having no interaction with Dr. Miller himself, but because of the very poor experience I had as a patient. I did not meet with Dr. Miller, so this review is only about the staff and my experience with testing. … More
Loved Dr Miller & his staff. Had to leave due to insurance changes.
I've never met a more caring, concerned, compassionate doctor. A friend of mine was experiencing chest pains and Dr. Miller stayed past closing time to meet with him. He helped him to correctly identify what the problem was. Likewise, years ago I went to Dr. Miller who helped me figure out what was wrong with my heart. It was a life changer. Dr. Miller has a genuine interest in your health and concerns.
You would be very wise to choose Dr Miller as your cardiologist. I have called him a Rock Star for nine years because of his level of excellence in patient care!
I have been seeing Dr. Miller for more than a year now. Every time I visit, he spends any required time with me getting the big picture as well as all the details and comes up with extremely competent diagnoses and treatment plans. I think he values every patient as a person and not as a number. I would recommend his practice and his services to anyone.

I have been a patient of Dr Miller's for approx. 4 yrs., I had an appt yesterday, and a test. I believe the front desk receptionist, (didn't get her name, wish I would have, but she has long straight blonde hair ), anyhow, I believe she could use some coaching on her mannerisms when dealing with patients. She was not an active listener, and if you don't bend to her will, she gives you dirty looks. EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM....I hope that she can get some training. Thank you.
Dr. Miller is superior. I have been a patient of his for several years. I've had had heart issues for more than 30 years and had several cardiologists over the years. I completely trust Dr. Miller and the recommendations that he's made for my care. Because of my extensive experience with other cardiologists and doctors, when you find a gem like this one, you keep it.
If I could separate office staff and Dr. Miller, I would. I find the staff to be rude, slow, always on their personal phones and uncaring. They seem to have awful attitudes and don't seem to enjoy their jobs. I feel like they always have to have the last word and be right. On the other hand, Dr. Miller is amazing! He always uses words that are easy to understand, and tells you how it is. I like the fact that he uses my name constantly and takes what my lifestyle is like into consideration when he's making treatment plans. If I could separate office staff and Dr. Miller, I would. Good doctor
Dr Miller is great at everything he does. Very caring guy. You won't find a better Dr.
This office is amazing and the doctor is really smart and very helpful. The staff are so professional and very kind. It is an hour and a half drive for me and I am happy to make the trip to be treated so well. They really mad me feel comfortable. Good job guys
Front office staff very friendly. Very nice waiting room, and appointments kept on time. Exceptional cardiologist. Knowledgeable, puts your mind at ease while explaining things in comprehendible terms. Excellent patient care and he really cares about the patient. It comes through very strong.
Staff completely rude and unprofessional. I was so disapointed by my visit here that I switched cardiologists the very next day.
Excellent cardiologist........always takes time to explain..........love also his office staff.......always appreciate a good doctor.....

Dr. Miller is an outstanding Cardiologist! He was very thoughtful in his approach to diagnosing my specific issue. While we discussed five different tests, one on them were right on target which allowed him to hone in on specifics. Haven?t felt this good in years. His offices are clean and staff professional. My only comment is be prepared for an extended wait once taken back, but well worth it. I highly recommend Dr. Miller.

Front desk staff a little cool. The waiting room is so claustrophobic I wanted to run. Doctor seems to know his stuff; impressed.

Although Dr. Miller was highly referred, it took almost 2 hours for Dr. Miller to make it to the exam room. During our few minutes with him, he took a phone call and spent several minutes discussing another patient, we could hear the entire call and it was not urgent. He then went on to sell us his specific testing services. I voiced concerns about other causes and he disregarded the comments and just kept pushing to set up tests. I felt that my time/questions meant 0 to him and his staff.

This is a followup review to my last review on March 31, 2016. I was extremely critical in my last review and I now wish to modify my ratings. Dr. Miller has advised my wife that the situation regarding long wait times has been addressed with his staff. Better communication will be made between staff and patients regarding the wait time. I apologize for being so critical in my first review. By the way, Dr. Miller is also my heart Dr. and he has been nothing less than outstanding!
Dr. Miller is extremely knowledgeable and will do everything possible to diagnose your conditions properly and get you the proper treatment. His office and staff are extremely well organized and efficient.
