Dr. Brian Allen Krenzel

3/20/2023 I had a 3:20pm appointment, I arrived at 2:59PM to get checked in. I was told my appointment was canceled because computers had been down since around 2:00PM but the computers were online when I arrived. They could have still seen me but I was turned away. I was a new patient seeking a second opinion to have both knees replaced per my first diagnosis. I asked why they did not call me about the cancellation before I lost time from work to make this appointment, I got no response from the attendant. The doctor never saw me. They had my cell phone number and could have reached out to me. I don't live in Hickory and had to drive from another city to make the appointment. I am in a great amount of pain and today I have decided to not use Ortho Carolina to relieve my pain because I felt I was just a number to them and not a patient needing pain relief. The Doctor may be a great surgeon, I will never know because of how I was treated yesterday. Kind regards,

First time visiting and had the pleasure of having Brian krenzel attending to me . From the get go he listened to all my concerns. Very precise in explaining my medical needs. Actually made my visit enjoyable. Thank you sir.

Dr. Krenzel provided me a second opinion for what was an already scheduled full hip replacement by another local area surgeon. He viewed the provided MRI and confirmed stage one AVN of the right hip. Next we had a lengthy conversation in which he requested that from the beginning I explain in detail the when what and where my pain began. Brian’s willingness to listen to my chain of events over the course of six weeks causing my now non weight bearing pain (hip flexor) and how to address it. I quote “AVN may get you a new hip someday, but not today”! He scheduled my physical therapy there at OC to begin 7 days later on February 24th (4 days prior to the would be surgery) and in three weeks I returned to work and feel amazing! *December 3rd to February 17th in pain on crutches and out of work pending a full hip replacement surgery. Thank you Brian for listening and taking the time to understand the cause and treating it and not performing unnecessary surgery on the symptom!

I believe Dr Krenzel is a good surgeon but surely lacks in bedside manner. He is arrogant and boastful. During my appointment in July he was just rude and at my appointment in February, he mentioned “at your age” 3 different times. I have no problem with my age but obviously he does! I will no longer be returning to Dr Krenzel for orthopedic care. I have chosen another skillful orthopedic physician with compassion.

Dr. Krenzel not only did a terrific job with the knee surgery but also provided the needed “tough” message about the need to do PT

He has always given me the time needed to answer questions and listens to me concerns as well.

Professionals and explanations are in layman's terms for understanding. Great fantastic surgeon with good bed side manner explains things easily understood and most of all no more knee pain thanks doc! Heather Teague was also a great therapist can’t find the words to express my gratitude to the whole team.

He is the best. Every other Dr.wouldn't touch my 3rd.hip replacements. Dr. Said he could do it.after all I wasn't walking the way I was, so we did the surgery .and it is amazing walking great no limp. Love this Dr.

Very knowledgeable and answered my questions. My Doctor left his practice and so I needed a new one. My neighbors told me that Dr. Krenzel was a wonderful doctor and after my office visit I'm happy to say that I found myself a new doctor.

He took excellent care of my daughter’s foot injury and really expedited her diagnosis and treatment. Would highly recommend him!!!

Dr krenzel did a full hip replacement for me 4 years ago and I have been very happy with the new hip. In June of this year I had to have a total knee replacement. I am walking and going on with my life without pain. He is a very kind and generous person who is willing to spend time with you. I feel very comfortable with him as my doctor. I feel sorry that with covid going on other people cannot get the care that they need. Our people in government need to change this so people can get the help that they need now not 6 months from now or a year from now. Great experience from check in person to nurses to X-ray tech to PA to Dr Krenzel to the check out lady. They were all wonderful and took good care of me.

I had a total knee replacement in April and Dr. Brian Krenzel was wonderful. He explained everything throughly and was very encouraging. The surgery went well and my knee has healed great. I also highly recommend the physical therapy staff at OrthoCarolina . Heather Teague and Kevin VanVoorhis helped me tremendously with my physical therapy. Heather has a very pleasing personality and worked closely with me to reach my goals. I definitely recommend OrthoCarolina and Dr. Krenzel.

Dr.Krenzel was very professional and personable. Reassuring I was in good hands . I had hip replacement surgery 2 weeks ago and am up and walking pain free.

I cant say anything for Dr. Krenzel Md I did not see him even though that's who my appointment was with. Sorry. Kinda disappointed I didnt see him.thats why I'm posting 3 stars because I do not know.

Dr. Krenzel was amazing...he explained the procedure throughly. Asked if we had any questions..I feel confident in him. He is a surgeon that knows and makes sure u understand everything.

My 94 year old brother- in - law was scheduled for a visit to see Dr. Krenzel because he was recommended by a Duke physician to me. We were seeking an opinion for his shoulder ,hips, and knees. Dr. Krenzel never showed up but his physician assistant did. The PA would not discuss his shoulder or his knee. No excuse was ever given why Dr. Krenzel was not available. I worked in health care for 30 years and I am appalled. No matter how skilled a physician is they still need to honor patient care fundamentals. They are of no value if they are absent.

I did not get to see the doctor I paid to see...they sent me a woman P.A..And she goes to.tell me to get ice on my knees and go to Walmart and buy Tylenol for my chronic knee pain...two knees i need partial knee replacement on..I will never go back there ..the need to give me my money back...!!!

Excellent service from Dr Krenzel Hickory NC and staff treatment for knee pain and stiffness So far have had 3 cortisone injection s but will eventually need complete knee replacement.

Really like Dr Krenzel and the staff. Only thing not acceptable is the waiting time always at least 30 minutes or more pass appointment time. Only getting a shot in both knees. Stop double booking to help that problem. Thank you.

I was seen quickly by Dr. Krenzel's PA about the new pain in my right groin. On X-ray it showed moderate arthritis. PA recommended an injection. While trying to schedule that injection the only date available was Jan 30. I will be leaving on Feb 1 for nine days to go on a medical mission trip to Mexico. Dr Krenzel, as well as this staff, are the absolute best. He is a very caring, concerned and knowledgeable, professional doctor. I have gotten along very well with the hip replacement. Dr. Krenzel is very straight forward with explaining how he is going to perform the hip replacement surgery and what I can expect post operatives. I look forward to my surgery in 4 weeks and getting my hip pain and issues taken care of.

Been going to OrthoCarolina since 2006 and this is the first time meeting Dr. Krenzel as my previous doctor left the practice. I thought he was very personable and professional and provided me with some good information. Will definitely continue going to see him in the future.

Navigating all of the paperwork for an upcoming surgery can be overwhelming but they assisted with that, as well. Dr. Brian Krenzel, having extended his expertise by completing a Fellowship in Total knee replacement, is highly skilled. He explained the surgery and answered all of my questions, beforehand. My experience with Dr. Krenzel has been nothing but amazing. Over a year I had suffered from severe arthritis which resulted to bone on bone. Dr. Krenzel told me I would need to have a total knee replacement, which is not what I wanted to hear but I took his advice and accepted his professional decision. He assured me I would be pleased with the final results and he was right!! My surgery was October 1st and returned to work December 7th. I waited 10 weeks just because I’m on my feet a lot at work. I had some swelling from my knee down which I called about and was told that was normal and would have some swelling the first year. Very pleased with the office visit and the care that I received.

I had a TKR and had the best possible care! Dr. Krenzel is a caring and knowledgeable surgeon. The entire staff on my surgery day was awesome! I had out patient surgery and it went absolutely perfect. My follow up visits and PT was a success. I’m glad I went with Ortho Carolina and highly recommend them to anyone who needs surgery.

After our visit with Ortho Oncologis at Levine Cancer Center in Charlotte the Dr. assured us that Dr. Krenzel and his staff would relieve my husband of his 6 months of excruciating pain and the ability to walk again with hip replacement of his left hip. We feel Blessed to have chosen Dr. Krenzel.

Dr Krenzel has already performed one total knee replacement for me, which was an absolute success and I am preparing for Dr Krenzel to replace my other knee soon. I had a total right hip replacement 3 yrs ago. Dr Krenzel is an excellent surgeon and he did a fantastic job. I have had no problems or pain. Now my left hip is having the same problems as the right did. I am very glad he will be the doctor if I need surgery again.
