Dr. Mitchell was thorough, kind, and caring while evaluating my condition. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Mitchell and Athens Neurology Associates.

My husband is his patient. He had a very minor stroke 7 years ago and was diagnosed with an 80% blockage in an artery. He was given meds and told he would have a major stroke and die. Luckily, we know GOOD doctors who suggested cutting out fat and going vegan. He did that. Dr. Mitchell has NEVER followed up in all these years. Never been interested enough to do another scan. My husband had to go see Michell today about an upcoming cancer surgery and was told the exact same thing that he was told 7 years ago. That he will have a catastrophic stroke and die. Again, no interest in progress. Now my husband is despondent right before major surgery. Ridiculous. Was unable to get a telehealth appt and was forced to go in person in the middle of a pandemic. I have been a patient of Dr Mitchell’s for over three years. He listens to the patients concerns. He is very professional and approachable. His staff, Janice and Tiffany are so personable and helpful. I would recommend him to all patients.

Doesn't know what to do with severe vertigo.

Dr Mitchell has been extremely thorough in diagnosing my condition and working through the maze of insurance requirements. The latter being the most difficult and really shouldn't be on the doctor to have to accomplish. It took about 6 months to get to a definitive diagnosis and Dr Mitchell used other neurologists to confirm his working diagnosis. Great follow through and a trustworthy advocate for the patient.

Dr Mitchell is extremely smart. But this requires the patient to be smart as well. The more information you can provide him (meaning keep a health journal when you begin becoming concerned about your symptoms) the quicker he can diagnose your condition and offer a suitable course of treatment. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone with an IQ over 100.

Dr Mitchell is the 1st Dr I've seen (in 4 yrs) that cares about what's going on with my body & he's trying to get to the bottom of what's wrong. I totally trust this man!

He is a good doctor but good luck getting an appointment. You had better not need one as it will take two months to see him (or more).
