This doctor should be avoided at all cost. He thought it would be funny to do a series of x-rays and then come into the exam room and tell me it was most likely cancer and leave me there for 30 minutes to ponder it! Turns out I had nothing more than Morton’s neuroma in both feet. Avoid this practitioner!

You could search forever and never find a better Orthopedic surgeon than Dr Monaco. I’ve known him for 30+ years and he’s the only one I will let touch my family, friends, and patients. He is a Doctor’s Doctor. He will only do what’s best for the patient, takes all the time in the world to get to know you, your needs, explain your options, and tell it as it is. Dr Monaco is the best. I have had 2 surgeries from him and a broken ankle fixed. At 43 years old he got me back to steer wrestling. He is to the point and truthful and cuts no slack. Does not tell you what you want to hear but heals you and makes you well again. I miss him in Chicago. You are lucky to have him.

Dr Monaco is the best! I was in a major car accident at the age of 17. If it weren’t for him and his “healing hands” along with his orthopedic expertise, I wouldn’t be walking today. I have seen many orthopedic surgeons since him since he no longer practices in the Chicago area and no one to date can even compare. If you want the best orthopedic surgeon in sports medicine.... then go to him!

Worse bedside manner of ANY doctor I've ever dealt with!!! Worse staff, just awful experience. I will NEVER go to Ochsner clinic again!!!!!

He has a cynical outlook and kept changing the time of surgery even on the morning of surgery and had little consideration of the patient's schedule. The procedure went OK but the scar is very noticeable. The stitches did not hold well and here was a considerable leakage ( more than usual) from the incision. I would not go to him again.
