Great doctor he amputated my right leg below the knee and has been great to deal with.

On January 26, 2018, I fell off of the roof of our barn. I sustained a double compound break in my lower left leg and five broken ribs. I was air lifted to Erlanger Emergency trauma center where Dr. Cunningham placed an Ex-Fit on my leg to stabilize the injury. He eventually put screws and plates in my leg and the recuperation period began. Unfortunately after a year, the cartilage in my ankle degenerated. I had decided to have the foot and ankle fused together. Dr. Cunningham would not do that until after I had consulted the ankle replacement doctor at Erlanger. Dr Jesse Doty. After the visit, I decided to have the complete ankle replacement performed. The replacement was done February, 2019. After carefully following Doctor's orders, I was back on my feet by mid-summer. As I progressed in my recuperation, I set a goal of that year to hike up Clingman's Dome- the highest elevation in Tennessee by Labor Day and I did. Thanks to the best Doctors for giving me my life back.

My ankle was crushed very badly during a car accident, I thought it might have to be amputated. Dr. Cunningham performed surgery to stabilize my leg, a few weeks later he performed a 4 hr surgery using 24 screws and 2 plates. I can’t thank him and his staff enough for saving my foot and every step I take is a testament to his dedication and knowledge! Thank you so much Doc! ??

I was referred to Dr Cunningham as surgery was one of the options my drs and I were looking into. I had multiple recent xrays, MRI scans, blood tests, three months of physical therapy, and several appointments with a foot and ankle specialist. I came to Dr Cunningham with hope that I would walk away with more knowledge of my condition or at least some constructive advice. However, I was not treated with any attentiveness what so ever, he acted as though he had no idea why I was there to see him, no knowledge of my basic health history (he didn’t even take a few minutes to read over my notes, he asked me the same questions over and over again as though he never listened to anything I had said. He barely looked at my xrays which he ordered, quickly flipped through my MRI scan and made little to no attempt at any physical exam. I was treated as though I was in the wrong and my injuries were not to be of any concern. I left feeling extremely disappointed. He really had no answers or any next steps for me apart from me seeking out a different orthopedic surgeon without any recommendations from him.
