Dr. Burk Teal Young

We go to the Mayo Clinic every year for other health issues. Dr. Young/hospital/his staff come closer to the Mayo Clinic than any other hospital we've been to over the years. (Just had a knee scope done) I'd highly recommend Dr. Young, his staff, Ivinson hospital. We rate them an A+. Caring, detailed, listens.

I had a life threatening infection I needed to have a amputation or die I chose to die...doctor young was caring and he personally took time with me wife to make me understand that it was for the best to have the surgery..now my quality of life is better than it's ever been....he saved my life and improved my life I would recommend him very highly

Dr. Young is a great orthopedic physician who demonstrates interest in understanding his patient’s problems and goals. His bedside manner is exceptional and the care I received under his hand was of the highest caliber. Thanks for everything, Dr. Young!

Good Doctor and good bedside manners

Dr. Young is a very caring person. And looks at all your needs. He did amazing on all three of my surgeries. I would go back to him in a heart beat. One of the best Orthopedic Dr I have ever been too.

Within a very short period of time I found Dr young to be a very relatable person. I was telling him about my days of log home constuction and reconstruction of rental properties and the standard I used for myself and those who worked with me." If something is worth doing it's worth doing right and PERFECT is close enough". DR Young and I looked at the X-ray of my knee after surgery and his words were " Yes, this is exactly what I wanted,it's PERFECT". No surprise to me,this is who he is and he met my standards of care. "And PERFECT is close enough". I am having shoulder surgery and the other knee needs surgery. My choice of orthopedic care is very easy to make. I will be going to his location of care.

Dr Young did an amazing job on all of my surgeries and would highly recommend him to anyone. He was great with keeping my family informed throughout all my procedures. Most caring Doctor I have had. Even called me at home to check on me.

he did a knee replacement and a hip replacement he came 75 miles to my home to change my bandage after a reaction I had to the adhesive tape.

Dr. Young guided me all the way through from the first visit to a total hip replacement. He was not pushy about hurrying to do the surgery and explained everything as we went along. Will use him again.

I feel better now than before my surgery. He always answers my questions.

I met Dr. Young his first day in Douglas, and he introduced himself as "the new guy". During his time at MHCC, he oversaw several of the health issues that I, and my husband David, experienced. I fell in December of 2021 and he not only repaired the shoulder -but oversaw my therapy and total rehab. I have full range of motion, and can honestly say I never had any pain or other issues. It is a shame that MHCC lost Dr. Young to Ivinson in Laramie. His patients will be very lucky to have him - and I'll come there if I have need of his skills. I truly wish him the best in his new venture.

Dr. Young is an outstanding surgeon who truly cares about his patients. Dr. Young doesn’t rush through your appointment; he listens and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. His skill and compassion make him our first choice in orthopedic care. My son Luke fractured his right thumb playing football his sophomore year. Dr. Young surgically repaired it and continued to follow my son throughout rehab until he was successfully able to return to the playing field without any pain or limitations. My son then fractured his left thumb playing soccer. Dr. Young was able to treat that injury and now Luke has full function in both thumbs and competes without any pain or complications. We are so thankful for the care Luke received from Dr. Young.

Dr Young cared so much he came to my home for my evaluation because I was unable to get around by myself, I had a shattered knee cap and broken Tibia, I received top notch care from the surgery clear through rehab and now I am home fully recovered. All because Dr Young cared enough to accept me as his patient and give me the extra care I needed.

Dr. Young did a total left knee replacement for me in October of 2021. After the surgery I was told that my knee was pretty bad and I can tell you the replacement was like night and day. I had excellent care and excellent follow up with Dr. Young. I’m 68 and I work in retail that requires standing and I have no pain doing that now. I highly recommend Dr. Young.

Excellent results from my knee replacement surgery. Very pleasantly surprised by the speedy recovery with no complications. Could not be happier about the experience.

I had never broken a bone. But in January of 2022 I broke my ankle. Dr. Young is king, caring and quickly got me into surgery in 2 days. He is warm, compassionate and clearly loves doing what he does. I could not have gotten better care. I'm sad that he left Douglas, WY, but the people of Laramie will love him!

Total professional and caring surgeon. Dr. Young was easy to establish a trust in because he listens. He doesn’t continue what he was saying before your question rather answers to your concerns. Be sure to level with him and he will level with you. I consider him a high performer in the art (yes art) of TKA and I have a knee to show for it! And bye the way, any athlete injured in a game is fortunate indeed to have Burk Young in the stands!

Very professional with good bedside manner. Repaired my elbow, feels better than it has in years.

Dr Young operated on my left leg doing a total knee replacement. It has been 14 weeks since my surgery, I'm totally out of pain,my knee was so pain ful before surgery that I could bend it to101 degrees and now it will bend to 124 degrees. I appreciate that he listens to me and thorough with his follow-ups.I highly recommend Dr Young when you have any Orthopedic injuries.

Shattered patella. I would recommend Dr. Young. 1st physician that ever offered to make a visit to my home to change a leg brace. He really cares about patient welfare!

Dr. Burk Young is an excellent orthopedic surgeon! I would highly recommend him as he is very thorough with health concerns which could affect a surgery. Very friendly and makes his patients feel comfortable. Is not rushed in the appointments and covers all questions.

Dr young is the most thoughtful doctor I have ever been to. He cares so much about his patients. My family has been going to him for any injuries we have gotten. I highly recommend him!

Best orthopedic doctor I have ever been too. He is very professional and funny . He truly cares about his patients and their outcomes. He is much a perfectionist and does an amazing job. He will go above and beyond to make sure his patients are taken care of. I'm truly thankful he has taken care of me and my entire family. He is a 10 !!!

Did a complete knee replacement and repair of complete rotator cuff tear. great surgeon, great follow-up on surgery and physical therapy. the incision is almost invisible just a very fine line.

Dr. Young is an amazing orthopedic surgeon. He has taken care of several of my family members. He cares deeply for each of his patients. He repaired my son's ACL and miniscus that were torn playing soccer. He called on the phone to check up on him. He was very concerned and attentive both before and after surgery. My son was told by another MD that he would never play soccer again, but after Dr. Young's surgery his knee was even stronger than before and he was able to return to the sport.

My husband has had three surgeries performed by Dr. Young and I have had one. Dr. Young is the most caring doctor either of us has had. His determination to achieve a good outcome is commendable. His relocation to Douglas, Wyoming is truly good fortune for that area. Should either of us require a surgery again, we intend to travel to Douglas to be treated by Dr. Young.

Dr. Young has been our "go to guy" for problems for many years from broken legs to carpal tunnel releases. He is so thorough and attentive. Our experiences have been totally satisfactory. He is just an all around great individual. One of his most important traits is if he is not totally comfortable doing your procedure, he will refer you to another doctor with more experience in that area. He truly cares about his patients well being.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Young I broke my wrist a year ago had to have surgery. I had never had surgery before and I'M 68 years old. Dr. Young explained everything to me and my family that I could understand. He was very kind and did and EXCELLENT job!! He kept in close contact and seen me through complete recovery!! Dr. Young is a fine doctor and man.

My husband and I have both seen Dr. Young because of knee trouble. He is an excellent Dr. and we both appreciated the time he took with us and the care we received from him. I appreciated the fact that he didn't immediately do surgery, but tried to work with us to avoid surgery if possible. In my case, my knee is better, with no surgery. My husband did end up needing knee replacement. The surgery went well, the care we received after the surgery was excellent, and Ed is playing golf again.

Dr. Young is a great Orthopedic Surgeon. We have all the confidence in him. He has performed a knee replacement on my husband and he has been very pleased with that. He performed ankle surgery on me after a very bad brake and he took such great care of me. He has repaired a shoulder for me and I would recommend him for any orthopedic care.

Dr. Young was my choice for total knee replacement, the right one in September 2016, and the left one in March 2017. Dr. Young is experienced, meticulous and knowledgeable regarding his patient's health and well-being. My knees are so straight and solid, and I couldn't be more thankful and pleased with Dr. Young, his staff and the hospital here in Vernal for the most excellent and professional care I received. Dr. Young will be sorely missed and we wish him well, always.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Young and his office staff. My family and I have been under his care for years. I always feel like Dr. Young truly cares about his patients and goes out of his way to help everyone. He has always taken his time with me to thoroughly explain what is going on and answer any questions I might have. He is an outstanding surgeon and the only one I trust. His office staff is always very friendly and helpful with payments and making appointments.

I tore my ACL earlier this year and Dr Young went out of his way to help me recover after performing my surgery. He personally came to my house and dropped off a stationary bike after he was off one day so I could excercise the muscles and tendons in my knee. I have Never seen a doctor so committed to my recovery or health.

Dr. Young is fantastic. We had a unique case where my son broke his leg the day of a family wedding. I'm a young mom, and was trying to figure out how I was going to get his leg casted and all make it to the wedding. Dr. Young stepped in and got him casted in time for us to all be there. I'm forever grateful. He's a lifesaver (literally). I also feel like he is exceptional in setting bones and insisted on doing the casting himself. My son has had zero issues since removing the cast!

Dr. Young is an amazing Doctor. My son injured his arm in a hockey game on a Saturday 2 hours away from Vernal so we called Dr. Young and he told us that as soon as we got into town to call him and he said that he would meet us at his office to look at it. My son's arm was broken and Dr. Young took care of everything right then. I am sure that there are not a lot of Orthopedic doctors that would accommodate us like Dr. Young did. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Burk Young.

I was at the doctors office for 2 hrs total and saw the doctor himself for 16 minutes. I felt more confused about what was wrong with me after our short visit. I had to ask HIM if there was exercises that could help, I had to ask HIM if a cortisone shot would help, I had to ask HIM if he could get me some medication for the pain. Sometimes I seriously felt like I was the doctor in the situation! The office was extremely small and very outdated. I really wish that I would have felt different.
