Dr. Cari Michele Zupko

Noticed my friend’s son with the same tooth pulled as my daughter and same spacer placement from the same office. I then examined the pulled tooth that I got to keep and nothing seemed wrong with it. Found both of these situations odd. Also Zupko used a lot of dental jargon that resulted in me agreeing to having several of my daughters baby teeth filled at almost each visit because it would supposedly “affect the permanent teeth coming in.” Not sure this is even true. She filled little cavities here and there. A year later I switched back to my original dentist and in the now 8 yrs we’ve been here they’ve only found a couple cavity on her. 8 yrs = 16 visits coming out with only 2 cavities. Zupko was 3-5 cavities each visit it seemed. This was odd as well. Conversely, my daughter and I liked zupko and I found the receptionists to be fine from what I remember. But the practice is questionable.

Well I guess the reviews from other sites were not wrong about this place. I couldn’t even get in the door before making that determination. I had a new patient appointment for today. Yesterday I got a text telling me I need to call the office to confirm my appointment by 330. The text was received at 2:50. By the time I saw the text after work the office was closed. Called this morning and was told my appointment was canceled. Isn’t the point of making an appointment to have an appointment??? If I had a new phone number I would have just wasted my time driving to this place. What a joke!! Well I guess the reviews from other sites were not wrong about this place. Yesterday I got a text telling me I need to call the office to confirm my appointment by 330. The text was received at 2:50. By the time I saw the text after work the office was closed. The Dr. came right into the waiting room and started talking about my sons health in front of other patients which I thought was very inappropriate. Then the hygienist took us back & was very quick and not very pleasant or patient with my son. He’s very scared of the dentist and I thought they would be more patient with him being that they work with children all day long, but they weren’t. Then when we were all done she had her dog inside the practice which I thought was very inappropriate & unsanitary! Not sure we will be returning to that office again. Disappointed with no follow up after multiple calls. Clerical staff was rude and lacked empathy which resulted in a delay in treatment

Our experience today was wonderful. I was so impressed their COVID setup. The place was so clean and all the workers kept masks on (properly) at all times. As usual they were great with our kids. Thank you!

My daughter has special needs and we were referred to Dr Zupko. We have probably seen 50 doctors/dentists over the past 5 years and this is ranked #50. She was mean to me and treated my daughter horribly. I have since met 5 people who told me about a horrible dentist experience, and I said “Dr Zupko”, and they said “How did you know?”. One of them said she was in tears in the parking lot. Another lawyer friend said he almost called the State of MI after the appointment and immediately found a new dentist. Thankfully we were given a referral to a special needs dentist in Clinton Twp, and the 30 minute drive is worth it, as every appt has been exceptional. After my daughter having a bad experience at our regular dentist a friend referred me to Dr. Cari. She is wonderful with both my daughters. Her staff is great too. She is very nice and explains everything to our children before she does it. I worked in the dental field for 15 years prior to staying home with my kids. Doing dental work on children can be difficult. It takes a special heart to do it. She is firm, but needs to be . I would recommend Dr. Cari to all my friends and family. Terrible attitudes from the receptionist !!! And seem to give a racist vide . If I could give a 0 star I would !!!

The hygienist was wonderful.

To put it simply, kids don't like dentists. Do you take them to a regular dentist or a pediatric dentist that knows how to treat children. This is your place for a dentist that wants the best for your child. The staff is caring but also firm with trying to get the children to cope with putting tools in their mouths. I have been bringing my children to Dr. Cari since they were 18 months old when the office was located in Berkley. My kids are now 11 and 9 and I still continue to drive to Dr. Cari's office in Beverly Hills even though we have moved an hour away because they are the absolute best. Dr. Cari and Ms. Marcie and all of the staff are WONDERFUL and know just how to work with kids and make going to the dentist FUN of all things. Finding an awesome pediatric dentist is a blessing and I certainly would never go anywhere else. Dr. Dave was great, but he is not there anymore. My son this morning had a rough day and was not willing to get in the chair. He has been there before and sat in the chair with some coaxing. Today, he had a fit, and I felt terrible about it. I told Dr. Zupko that today it wasn't going to happen for my son. I understand that it was not a great use of her time, my son is 3 and unpredictable at times. What I did not expect nor appreciate was the Dentist asking me like a child, "What are you going to do so this doesn't happen the next time?" I was embarrassed enough, I did not need a lecture. I could hear her talking poorly about us as we walked away from the room. She works for me, not the other way around. The hygenist is a sweetheart and chased us down and basically said, "Please just have Mom call us for another visit." She was a professional who works with children; the dentist seemed...not so much. Dental care is decent. I wouldn't say outstanding, but it's above average. Facility is nice with up-to-date equipment and a waiting area that is very kid friendly. Staff is nice and pleasant. But the dentist, Dr. Zupko herself, is rather abrasive. She's not very friendly with the kids. She's rude and condescending to the parents. And medical concerns are not handled privately. Meaning, she will walk into the middle of a full waiting room and start talking about your child's conditions (announcing to everyone in ear shot that you child has a cavity or that the child needs to see an orthodontist for specialized treatment). This is highly unprofessional, in my opinion. Any medical discussions should be held in private and not announced to a room full of strangers. Dental care is decent. RUDE RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!!!!!! The woman who does the scheduling made me feel like a loser that I had a job and my babysitter was coming in with my children. Dr. Zupko is so loud and she yells at you and is not interested in your opinion or thoughts. The woman who does the teeth cleaning is very nice as was the male dentist they had there but he is gone and I am gone..... Super professional great with kids my daughter used to be afraid of the dentist not anymore they treat the kids so great in this place. Whould highly recommend .

Dr. Dave (Vasquez) is awesome with our daughter! He explains everything and doesn't mind taking the time to answer questions. Appointments are timely and the staff is efficient. Very happy!

Zupko's Office & Staff are very inviting. My kids enjoy going to the dentist. I love the good work they do, my kids smiles are brighter because of it.

WE SAW DR DAVE, THE WAITING ROOM WAS VERY KID FRIENDLY, VERY CLEAN. THE STAFF WAS VERY POLITE, VERY NICE & INFORMATIVE. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE KIDS AT THIS OFFICE. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We absolutely love Dr. Cari's office. Everyone is so friendly I wish they would treat adults also.

My 9 and 11 year old children have been seeing Dr. Zupko since their very first dental visit. She and her staff are friendly, thorough, and nonthreatening. I feared the dentist growing up and my children thankfully are very comfortable going to see the dentist. I can't say enough good things about the office or Dr. Zupko.

I have been dealing with Dr. Zupko for 12 years now and she is wonderful. My children always have a great experience when they have appointments. The staff makes my children feel very comfortable because of their warm, loving, and caring personalities. Dr. Zupko and her staff are awesome. My children love them.

Both of my kids see Dr. Cari and she is a great dentist. She is proactive, no nonsense, competent, and my kids feel very comfortable with her. My son just recently experienced his first dental appointment with Dr. Zupko. With him only being two, I was nervous for him and didn't want him to feel overwhelmed by the experience. I was put right at ease from the very beginning; the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming, the hygienist was amazing and very kid friendly in her tone of voice and mannerisms. Dr. Zupko was also very friendly and patient with my son explaining the cleaning instruments and making him feel comfortable. We have been going to Dr. Zupko since moving here in 2009. I love that she is patient with my children and works hard to create and keep the dentist's office a friendly place. She is candid and honest and I greatly appreciate that. Her staff is wonderful and friendly. We are there as a family every 6 months and have visited in-between for injuries, sealants, etc... Excellent, professional care with exceptional concern and compassion. Great attention to detail for preventitive and routine care. My children love Dr. Cari, her staff and the office.

My children think Dr. Cari is the best dentist around. I have not had to fight with them to go at all. They have even had to have procedures besides cleanings and still don't complain. I am so happy we have found them. The front desk person is so sweet and kind. We couldn't be happier.
