Be advised to compare the migraine surgery practice/protocol used in ROPSC with other well-known Plastic Surgeons in the country who have better success and reputation in doing this kind of surgery Before making any serious decision as the surgical practice/protocol conducted by ROPSC is more invasive and differ significantly from the Standard Migraine Surgery protocol and practice developed and implemented by its Founder in terms of requirements, approach, length of recovery period, complications, results and success/failure rate. Also recommend getting fair amount/ tens of testimonials from different patients (they wildly vary) as their feedbacks/transparency matter the most. The plastic surgeon and the physicians working with him will not disclose the severe chronic muscular and neurological complications that some patients experienced after the surgery neither compensate or take any legal responsibility for the permanent damage made. Read carefully any waiver form the nursing staff gives and simply walks away if you disagree. Note that Merely getting referred by a confident neurologist that does not necessarily mean you are being sent to the right plastic surgeon but may only mean that is the one they have business with and closet to where you live which are irrelevant facts. My experience with Dr Perry has been an enormous disappointment, abs I speak as a physician myself. I believe he is a good surgeon and perhaps has some empathy, but after a 9-hour occipital nerve decompression surgery, I absolutely cannot get him to return my calls. His staff are rude and I am always told I can only speak to the neurologist about my post-op pain. The reality is that he does not want to cope with the pain I attribute to the surgery, which I did not have pre-op, and doesn’t have the courage or professional dignity to simply call and talk with me. Most certainly not the traits of an outstanding physician.

I was referred to Dr Perry for nerve decompression surgery from Dr Blake @ The Headache Center of River Oaks. At our first consult Dr Perry reassured me I was a prime candidate for this surgery. He was very thoroughly and went over in detail what the surgery entailed and what to expect afterward. After seeing approximately 9 different doctors in 5 years I felt like I had finally found a doctor that could help me. I had nerve compression surgery Sept 29, 2021. I no longer have any nerve pain at the base of my skull! I am beyond happy to being able to live my life without chronic pain! I would not recommend Dr. Perry under any circumstances. He is dismissive of questions and concerns, provides inaccurate information and causes significant disruption in getting pre op tasks complete. His office staff is incompetent, untrained and downright rude. He doesn’t take insurance and makes you pay upfront for all surgeries and procedures. No payment plan options. I’ve had a horrible and extremely disappointing experience. Stay away.

Dr. Perry is hands the most knowledgeable Doctor in Houston on Occipital Neuralgia. I say that because I have seen over 2 dozen doctors and he exceeds the bar with his intensive research and presentation on what is actually occurring to his patients. Let’s be honest.... how many doctors have a slideshow that explains step by step of your condition? I haven’t met one... I was able to visually see, there for understand this very rare condition. His staff is just as wonderful as him. I never feel as if I am bothering any of them!! Such an amazing team and very much a blessing to me! Very thorough and detailed, which is what we needed. My daughter is a surgery candidate for chronic neck pain and headaches...surgery planned, soon to be scheduled. I was impressed with his level of experience. Highly recommend!

The consultation went great. Entire staff was very nice. BUT, all I wanted was an answer on whether he would do surgery or not. Considering my previous surgery records had been purged due to it being 14 years ago, and he wanted them, I think he didn't want to do surgery. If you call, they won't answer because they know your number. I just called from a land line, stated who I was and why I was calling, got put on hold and then hung up on. I tried calling right back, only to not even get the automated system so I can choose who I want to speak to. This has been going on for 3 months and the only reason I wanted to stick with him was because he was recommended by 2 anesthesiologist. I have never seen such an operation! If he didn't want to do the surgery, just say so! I have now wasted more time than I care to on this and need to start looking for another surgeon. God forbid I would have had surgery and needed him for an emergency. I guess I would have been on my own then.

I met with Dr. Perry on Feb. 29, 2016 due to having chronic daily headaches for 13 1/2 years. Dr. Perry was very professional and straight forward, which was very helpful. I am scheduled for a nerve deconstruction surgery on April 13, 2016. After seeing 59 doctors concerning my headaches, I am praying that I have finally found the doctor that can help. my wife and I drove from Tucson to Houston (1100) miles and it was worth it.
