Absolutely love and trust Dr. Mixson! I have seen him many times and he’s always patient and willing to explain and answer any questions.

ENT is great, all the staff is friendly. Dr. Mixson is WONDERFUL, he is also friendly and very knowledgeable. He takes the time to explain everything very gentle and makes you feel like family. We trust him and his decisions completely.

Athens ENT was wonderful with my 1year old. The staff were so nice and Dr. Mixson was kind to our daughter and explained everything thoroughly.

Dr. Mixson is incredibly kind, attentive, and timely. Where else can you get your child in and out in 25 minutes? I feel grateful he is conservative with tubes...definitely not pushing for surgery if the babe doesn't need it! He did a "watchful waiting" approach, which worked great for my babe. Thankful!

This my first time going to ENT of Athens and I couldn’t be happier that they helped with my nasal drip to a point where I have the I felt like I was giving up till I went to them. The doctor was very helpful and tooling the time to understand my problem with my nasal. I highly recommend them to everyone who has a problem with their nasal, throat, and ear. I have been a patient of Dr. Mixson‘s for a few years now, and he has guided me through properly identifying my allergies, providing sublingual drops versus shots, and has helped me with my positional vertigo. He always listens to everything I have to tell him, and then clearly explains what is going on and/or what we might do to fix things. I trust him completely, and highly recommend him and his office, especially if you suffer from allergies. I had no idea how severely my life was impacted by my allergies. I am from out of state and my daughter is a Freshman student at UGA. She was referred to ENT of Athens by the local hospital with a raging and bleeding ear infection. They recommended she see a specialist. Dr Mixson observed her, looked in her ear and told her it should just go home and did not require any procedure. He advised her to come back in a few days to see her which she did. My issue is that he spent a total of 20 minutes during 2 visits, performed no tests yet we got a bill (she was uninsured at the time of the visit) for a total of $590.00. This is legalized theft and what is wrong with our healthcare system. I called to dispute or get explanation and was rudely told they have every right to charge what they charged. $340 for new patient office visit, $90 for looking in her ear (they called it a fancy name so they could charge extra-binocular microscopy) and $160 for the follow up observation. Dr. Mixson was friendly and professional. He successfully removed earwax buildup that was hindering my ability to hear well. He chatted with my small grandson, which put him at ease in a medical office.

Dr. Mixson is professional, very knowledgeable, concerned and caring. To say I highly recommend Dr. Mixson is an understatement. He is an excellent doctor.

Saw Dr. Mixson for infrequent dizziness and inner ear problem. He was prompt, courteous and extremely thorough. He also took time to listen to everything that I had to say. Excellent ENT!

The staff at ENT of Athens are wonderful! The only problem I have is with the phone situation. Its very frustrating being put on hold multiple times! My time is valuable too! Those girls do a GREAT job but they need more help answering those phones!

I did not particularly care for his demeanor. His comments were smug and a judgmental from the first few minutes I was in the room with him. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Never going back!

This doctor didn't even listen to me when I was explaining to him my symptoms. He disregarded what I had to say. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. If you want someone to care about the whole person, paying attention to your acute and chronic issues, this is not the person you want to go to.

I love see dr mixson he is so great w my son and always goes the extra mile.

Dr Mixon has a nice southern charming bedside manner. He knows what he is doing as a surgeon also. My recovery was fast and even though I dreaded my deviated septum surgery. It was not bad at all. When he pulled the splints out it was just uncomfortable. Now I can breath through my nose.
