I had my first doctor retire when I was 16. My mother signed me up at Dr. Fu's office when he and his wife were on Eggert rd. My mom and sisters went to Gracie Lyn (Dr. Fu's wife). I have been a patient with Dr. Fu for over 20 years. I missed going for a couple years within that time, due to an insurance switch, but always returned when I switched back to an insurance company that covered visits to his office.My experiences with The Dr. are usually pleasant. He is a good doctor, he does have some quirks, but he really knows his medicine. A few of those quirks: Do not be late. Tardiness is not tolerated. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, 99% of the time, you will not be seen. If you are on time or early, 99% of the time the wait is between 30 and 90 minutes. Also, if your appointment is later, Dr. Fu runs out of jokes and switches into what I call 'business only mode'. He makes a physical checklist of four things you came to see him about, then goes into detail for each one, like an automobile mechanic. All in all, I didn't mind having Dr. Fu as my primary. I DID however mind dealing with his office staff. These women are usually not the slightest bit sunny AT ALL. If you dislike the job that much, quit. You'd be doing every single patient there a HUGE service. Out of the staff, there is one older woman whom I believe is 'in charge' of the others. I'd rather hit myself with a hammer than deal with her ever again. Some of the complaints that I have for her specifically include: -She is rude over the phone, She talks down to you, every time, she treats people inferiorly. -When you are face-to-face with her, she behaves the entire time like you are a burden and you are interrupting her, even when she calls on you for paperwork or height/weight measuring. -If you call and wish to speak directly to the doctor -or anybody but her- she refuses to permit it. Who does that??? -She purposely delays medicine refills. If you simply can not get out to the office and wish for a simple refill, she tells you she will ask the doctor (and is rude about it) and almost always waits to call it in until the next day or until you call back to remind her. -If you make an appointment and need to break it or change it, you are given a speech about how much money the doctor is losing and how irresponsible you are...Listen up, lady...life happens. Dear Dr. Phillip Fu, I wish you a lifetime of success. I hope you will review the way your father's office staff operates and find suitable replacements. They are your voice, they are your patients' first impression of your practice. I hope you take the time to do a little preventative maintenance before you take over the office. Not so bad doctor. Horrible office staff. Was dropped because I had to reschedule a couple of times. Was not aware that this was a crime. I have a busy life and I no longer live close to his office. I have a Autistic son so things can be unpredictable. I had to reschedule because of my work, weather, children and school. When my husband and I would call we got nothing but terrible customer service from his office staff. I didn't want to reschedule however had no other choice. I think its pretty sad that his receptionists don't understand real life circumstances. I personally feel they need to change the way they treat his patients or be terminated and supply a new staff with better customer service skills. Not so bad doctor. Horrible office staff.
