Dr. James J Piscatelli

I had a referral to see a GI. I called to schedule an appointment here and the receptionist told me that if I have ever seen a different GI for anything ever, that this doctor will not see me. I'm not sure what they expect people moving in from different states to do, just go die then? Super sketchy business practices here. Any doctor worth their salt wouldn't refuse patients like that.

Have been going to Dr Piscatelli for a few years now. Zero complaints and would highly recommend.

Having digestive issues is not an easy thing to share but I felt totally welcomed and comfortable by staff and doctor at my first visit. I know I have an advocate in Dr. Piscatelli. I also am grateful for access to information and having questions answered through portal.

Receptionist took a brief history of my problem. Then had to get back to me after Dr. Piscatelli reviewed it to determine if he would see me ( 1st red flag). When they did call back to schedule, it was over a month. The visit was short and Dr. Piscatelli was dismissive, cut me off when I spoke and never took a full history. Was in the office for maybe 5 minutes (2nd red flag). Needless to say, I was scheduled for a EGD and colonoscopy 2 months away! I was assured at the time of scheduling that I would be completely knocked out and I confirmed this a month before the procedure. I followed prep protocol before the testing. The day of the procedure, I went to the surgery center. Had a very uneasy feeling.(3rd red flag) Receptionist had no clue what he was doing (4th red flag) the nurse couldn’t get the IV in and had to call in someone else and I have good veins (5th red flag). Then was told just sedation with some discomfort! I left without procure being done. FIND ANOTHER DR.

Very well run and friendly office. No waiting!

The fastest I've ever been in and out ! Got off the elevator didn't even sit my name was called and I went right in ! Was nice !!

Dr. Piscatelli is a kind, intelligent doctor. Very versed in GI issues. I would recommend to anyone! His staff is super!

I was getting seen by Dr.Piscatelli, then without any notice they switched my Dr. for a young guy that I didn't feel as comfortable. I missed 1 appointment because I forgot about it for the excitement of getting called to start a job the same day, then I get a letter saying that he no longer would provide me service. I've called and try but his nurses are super RUDE!!! I tried contacting another Dr found on Google, when I called I guess he's from Piscatelli's group (I didn't know that) and as soon as I gave her my DOB she instantly got rude and all she said was "THIS IS PISCATELLI'S OFFICE AND YOU WON'T GET SEEN HERE!! I don't know if its a racial thing but I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!! Very personable but, for a first time consult appointment felt rushed, I was still addressing concerns as he was exiting the room, other than that from start to finish visit was pleasurable.

It was a very good experience my first time in the office.The medical staff there were very pleasant.

Dr. Piscatelli is awesome ! He took the time to answer questions and explain completely what was being done to me. I highly recommend this doctor if you are in need.

Office was convenient and easy to park. Office staff was friendly and very efficient. Dr. Piscatelli had obviously reviewed my history prior to my visit. He was kind and put me more at ease. The dr set up testing procedures as expected.

Being a veteran and encountering a level of difficulty from the veterans care facility, I was referred to this doctor by private insurance. The VA put me on meds that were more harmful than beneficial and I couldn’t get a response from veterans care. Dr Piscatelli recognized the issue and had me discontinue that medication. Relief from the discomfort was almost immediate. I can’t thank him enough for listening and reacting to my concerns. I was very disappointed in trying to make a appointment for my elderly Mom, who had been seen in the emergency room and advised to see a GI specialist. When calling on Monday morning, I was advised that the doctor only reviewed new patient paperwork on Tuesdays and Thursdays and they may not get back to me until Friday. When they called back on Tuesday the office staff said he would not be taking my Mom as a patient and to contact her PC for a different doctor referral. Cant help but think my Moms elderly age may have played a role in this decision. I don't understand why a doctor wouldn't agree to see anyone who needed help. Although we didn't actually meet Dr. Piscatelli, I couldn't in good conscious recommend a doctor who picks and chooses his patients. Again my Mom was not accepted as a new patient so she did not see Dr. Piscatelli.

Just like always during my visit yesterday Dr Piscatelli took care of me for crohns as he has for many years. Always kind and has always listened to me and taken my thoughts into consideration.

Check-in staff was friendly and efficient. The wait to see Dr. Piscatelli was very minimal. He was polite, listened, and explained the diagnostic tests he was to prescribe. It was a quick yet satisfying office visit.

In most professions, a majority of the workforce are excellent at what they do and have a sincere passion for doing it. Then you have the bad apples who are simply there to collect a paycheck and put their own interests and egos before those that they are licensed to serve. Dr.Piscatelli unfortunately falls into the ladder of those two categories. He is egotistical, burnt out and quite frankly has no business being in healthcare. His ability to speak with people kindly, professionally, and patiently without cutting them off and using confusing medical jargon is simply not a skill set he possesses. I’ll spare you the details of my frustrating, confusing and rather quick visit with him and instead encourage you to stay away from him. Ask your primary for a referral to someone else who will treat you like a human being.

Very professional provider and staff. Always takes time to assist and answer questions. Always provides emergency call back when needed. Provider and staff are very caring and helpful. Office environment follows stringent COVID cleanliness and antiseptic procedures. This is a very Outstanding provider and office staff both in the hospital and office. You will get excellent care.

He has been my GI since I moved to Buffalo. He never dismisses any of my issues and always listens. Im very lucky to have found a doctor that takes my IBS and Gastroparesis seriously.

He is prompt and thorough. Explains his treatment extremely well and always willing to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

This was my 1st visit with Dr Piscatelli and I was very satisfied. He listened to me, which is so important. He determined what was wrong and prescribed appropriate tests and medications.

I had to leave my GI doctor if 40 years because he retired. I have had Crohn's s for 40 years and really wanted someone I could trust. I was referred to Dr. Piscatelli. Very nice, informative and answers all my questions! Highly recommend!

Extremely efficient staff and the doctor was very thorough

I've seen Dr. P since 2006 and he has always been great. Highly recommend him. His staff is excellent also.

Colonoscopy which he preformed today, He explained everything to me very professional.

I have complex medical problems. After sending over all of my private health information as his office requested, they called me to say that he would not see me for my GI problems. They did not even say why. Clearly not interested in helping sick people, but looking for easy money. Scoping for dollars. Don't waste your time.

First off. My first appointment only lasted 5 minutes at most. A new patient appointment should be at least half an hour. Didn't ask me if I had any questions. Cut me off when I was trying to explain my problem and how it has manifested. Told me the problem I've been having for months and that I've been needing to take medicine for everyday, is most likely nothing. He gets 2 stars because he is sending me for a test.

Great Dr, very knowledgeable, easy to talk to. Very through and a pleasure to deal with.

He was dismissive of my list of symptoms, patted me on the shoulder and said, "Have you heard of sluggish stomach?". After three tests, one of which noted a partial blockage, I was given a script that specifically said not to take if you have a blockage. Several months later I had emergency surgery and had two neuroendocrine tumors removed that were causing the blockage. He scheduled a scoping procedure for my daughter and forgot to take the sample he was supposed to take. I don't recommend him

Had very good experience with Dr Piscatelli. Friendly , and explained health problem to my husband and I . His office staff also is very professional. No long waits. I would highly recommend Dr to friends.

Dr. Piscatelli himself has a nice bedside manner. Our issue with his office really stems from the billing practices which in my opinion are not ethical. Saw the Dr. for my first colonoscopy - routine preventative because I am now 50. Under the law, this is covered in full with no copayment. But,,,this office has billed my procedure as medically necessary - not preventative - which leaves me with a large bill to pay. They have refused to correct this so watch out for this scam!!
