Dr. Wathen and her nurse practitioner , Leah are phenomenal. I left the area, and miss their excellent care . They are very thorough and great follow up. The go over everything and explain everything . Plus, extremely accessible and responsive . Before I left Hartfield I realized that the would be at the very top of my list that I will miss. I have several serious health issues and was very hesitant to leave the group of physicians I had in Northern Virginia when I moved to Mathews (hence, it seemed like we were traveling back and forth at least every other week), It finally got to be too much, so I began searching for a doctor here. When I found Dr Wathen, I knew she was an answer to my prayers. Addition to being very knowledgeable and competent and she is THE most compassionate physician I have ever had. I’ve never had a physician pray with me before, but Dr Wathen held my hand and asked for the Lord’s help with a family problem. Her staff is equally caring and go to great length to accommodate patient needs. They make every effort to know you by name and ease appointment scheduling. Pay the annual fee to belong to this small practice-you’ll not regret it!

We are so blessed to have Dr. Wathen as our primary care doctor. She is super knowledgeable and at the same time doesn’t hesitate to refer you to other specialists. She is very personable an truly interested in each individual person. We have been under her care for about 15 years and couldn’t be happier.

My husband and I have been so very fortunate to have found Dr. Wathen shortly after we moved to Mathews. Not only is she quite resourceful, but she is also quite knowledgeable . One thing that I find to be a very strong trait of hers is that she is approachable! That is so very important. She is easily accessible via email for questions that one may have and takes the time to answer your emails. We just feel extremely blessed to have her as our primary doctor!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Christian Wathen for several years now. I’ve found both her and her staff to be more knowledgeable, personable, and professional than any other medical practitioners that I have ever experienced in my life. Unlike most doctors today who’s primary concern is the number of patients seen per day and the amount of money that they can make, she truly cares about her patients and proves that on a daily basis. I would never even consider seeing another doctor now and would strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a great doctor or family practice.

Dr Wathen and her staff are awesome! Dr Wathen and Leah are very attentive to your needs and concerns. They take the time to listen and provide professional advice. They have helped me and my husband with numerous health issues (simple to complex). If it hadn’t been for Dr Wathen being so persistent with various testing and getting my husband to the proper specialist he may not be alive today. We didn’t know it but he was a ticking time bomb. She took the time to talk to the specialist to let them know how serious my husband’s condition was and that he needed to be seen immediately. Her staff is just as professional. They have always been helpful and are very friendly. We highly recommend them. We’ve never received the professionalism and sincere care anywhere else like we do there. I do t know what I’d do if we had to relocate and I’d no longer have her as my physician. I’ve never felt so adequately cared for by a physician’s office.
