It was definitely worth the wait. Today I had my long awaited Root Canal. Dr. Bowen and his assistant (Please forgive me but I forget her name) were wonderful. Wow! They’ve really gone down hill after Dr. Bowen retired. Rude front desk and unethical billing practices.

Good news they have new front staff that are happy and friendly.

Dr Behring has been my dentist and my children's dentist for 10 years and I have NEVER had unpleasant experience. She is kind hearted and caring and her patient care is out of this world. I could not imagine seeing anyone else. My oldest son is autistic and she goes above and beyond with him. She really is one in a million.

Whoever gave a bad review of this dentist office should give them another chance.Dr. Behring and her staff are awesome.I have gone there several years now.Yes,a toothache can hurt.Don't take it out on the staff.

Molly one of the dental hygienists is absolutely what will keep us coming back. My kiddo on the spectrum requires a lot of patience and kindness. She seamlessly handled my child's behaviors. I can't thank her enough and wish more humans like her existed in this world.

Went in for basic wisdom tooth extraction last year and they began the extraction before it was completely numb, and one of the 2 women doing the procedure scolded me for yelling in pain and said, "You cannot scream here, this is a professional setting." so after getting a second injection, leaving me to believe the rest went ok, it left that side of my mouth (permanently) numb, now a year later. The nerves are dead. Theres reasons people distrust dentists. Makes it even more difficult for good dentists to even be found. You have to be lucky anymore it seems like. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment when seeking a dentist to trust. Wow. Dont risk your body, and don't waste your time or money here. I had a very good experience with Dr. Had a PC of tooth tat broke off with very large filling. She saved the tooth,removed and replaced the filling. I am very satisfied

I have been going to this practice for 24 years. I miss Dr. Bowen. The dentists there now are good but the receptionist is a complete, go ahead and fill in the blank. I called with notice to move up my appt back in July and the first available appt she said they had was Dec. Upon arrival I had wait in my car and call the office. I arrived 15 mins early. They had me come inside and 5 other people came in after me and went back first. It was now 15 mins past my appt time and I got up to use the bathroom to let them know i was just using the bathroom quickly and the receptionist scoffed at me and rolled her eyes. The hygienist stated she was just filling in from another practice in another town. She was friendly though. When checking out, the very unfriendly receptionist looked at me and asked me my name. Mind you every single person that came in at the same time that I did were male. So I guess she couldn't decifer male and female names. Then in the middle of me talking to her she answered the phone with no warning or apology. The other receptionist took over and sent me on my way. We love Dr. Bowan. Good care

Hygienists are super nice. Dr. Bowen is not friendly, rushes through his work, and does not care if his patients are in pain during procedures or not. Dr. Behring is awesome. Receptionist staff is rude and short. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get in with them in a timely manner. I had an appointment that needed to be rescheduled , instead of contacting me, they called my mother ( I am an adult in my late 20's) to reschedule. My mother not knowing my work schedule said yes to the day change. I wasn't able to make in on time since I am a shift worker and the appointment was at 8am on a day that i work. Since you cant get in with them for at least 3 months every time you call I couldn't reschedule it. Would love to speak with their office manager about how and why this type of care is acceptable. Dr Bowen is a great dentist. He has two long time assistants who are top notch.I have been going for 30 plus years and now I am going to find another dentist. I had a rotten tooth last fall and they scheduled me 5 or 6 weeks out to look at it. I wanted emergency care and told them i could not sleep at night because of pain so please put me on a cancellation list i will come in immediatly because the pain was bad. Never got a call.. I had scheduled a cleaning for (waited 6 months) last week and showed up without my ins card, which i could have given the next day but they wanted "cash that day because they had to bill it that day". .so i asked to reschedule and Carrie scornfully told me in her very next breath , it would be 4 months out, for a cleaning So this is the last straw. DR BOWEN IS A GREAT DENTIST, BUT, I am not putting up with the unproffesional and seemingly stressed out reception staff anymore. I don't ever remember laughing or EVEN SMILES coming from the reception staff. Snooty ,snobby, short, and rude. Dr Bowen is a great dentist. So grateful to Drs. Bowen and Behring. My dad, who lives in Harrisville, had an old bridge/implant that fell out this week (his 4 front teeth). His regular dentist, Dr. Malais, who works in Oscoda Mondays and Tuesdays and Essexville Wednesday - Friday each week, wasn’t in Oscoda when it happened, so we drove all the way to Essexville (from Harrisville) to see her. She said she would have to send away to have a new bridge made to a dental laboratory because her office didn’t have a 3-D copier that could create a bridge like this. I asked her if she’d be ok with me contacting my family dentist - Bowen and Behring, and she said “go ahead - if they can help him out, that would be great!” When I called the office today, they squeezed him in at noon tomorrow! Such a great team we have here in Sanford. They treat you like family! So grateful to Drs. Bowen and Behring. I called to find out if they accept my insurance and when I thanked the already rude receptionist she responded with "uh huh" and hung up

Dr. Bowen is great, don’t get me wrong by that rating. This doesn’t excuse the fact that his receptionists have no business working there. They are very unhappy people and they show it. They complain about how busy they are and use that as an excuse to why you don’t get a callback, things done properly and on time, etc. I gave his office a second chance because the first time they told me my original procedure was covered at no cost to me. I got a bill for $315. The second procedure, which they never called back for my price, I was told it would be approximately $185 for the procedure I had done (after it was completed). I was told they would send a bill. Well, I just got the bill for the second procedure which ended up being $308. I understand an estimate is never exact but when you are more than $100 off, that’s just ridiculous and horrible care! The front desk staff may have years of experience like I’ve been told, but that doesn’t mean they have GOOD experience. Poorly mismanaged when it comes to estimates, appointments and phone conversations. Sad to say, I’ll be finding another dentist to finish my work. I tried. I have the dentist that is with this bowen and not a fan. I had a chipped tooth they put the cap/filling in on it and it’s not straight it’s sideways and she got offended when I said it was not straight and it was slanted they tried acting like I didn’t see it and that it was because it was chipped. Other people notice it and then she had one of the nurses come and tell me she thinks it’s fine basically and if I really felt like it was not right I will have to reschedule an appt. because it does not come nearly as close to the level of my other front tooth. I have gone in and asked for my one wisdom tooth to be pulled because it keeps abcessing and she refuses and says it does not cause major issues so no need to have it taken out. I am lucky to have very decent insurance. I am finding somewhere else. The 6 month cleanings are not worth it and neither is the grumpy receptionist or hygienist. As soon as you walk back through that door they are all on their phones and customers are not their number one priority it’s talking amongst each other. I really love Christina behring she's awesome! I've gone there since I was a kid and now my kids do too!

They are prompt on getting the patient in at the appointment time, do excellent work and practices excellent pain management.

I have been going here since a child and now my spouse and children go here. The staff have always been very pleasant and accommodating with scheduling, dealing with anxieties, lots of questions, and periods of insurance/no insurance. I highly recommend Dr Bowen's dental office. (The only complaint I have EVER had was when he put in silver molar fillings instead of white and that was because I didn't specify to him ahead of time what I wanted--I just ASSUMED he would put in white since my other fillings were white.) I have came here since childhood & the receptionst are super rude & snobby. Dr. Bowen rushes thru procedure & dont explain anything. WORSE DENTIST.

I have been going there for years, and they do a very good job for the price. It can be hard to get an appointment quickly but they have expanded so now it is a little easier. I would recommend them as a good family dentist.

Every time I have had something done here, it has gone awry. First, when I went to have my filling done, I wanted it to match my teeth since I work in the service industry. They did not ask me what I wanted, they just assumed and now I have a silver filling where everyone can see it. Then, after A YEAR this filling was still giving me sensitivity so I had to go back in to see what was going on, and turns out I needed a root canal... It is now 2 months later and it still hurts and the tooth is still sensitive. I don't think this dentist cares for his patients and rushes through everything. Not a good experience.
