My husband Greg Kapanowski, had bilateral knee replacements, from Dr. Carpenter in 2015. Best Dr. ever! Greg was back doing construction in just 8 weeks. Up and down ladders putting in flooring on his knees. We went to three doctors one at U of M one in Chicago and Dr Carpenter. So glad that we picked him. Greg was given so much more quality of life. Dr. Carpenter is the surgeon who provided my 91 year old mother with a new knee and newfound mobility. He is probably the best physician I have ever known. There should be another star for his rating.

Dr. Carpenter did both my hips and did a great job. The only thing I would of done different is I would of done it sooner. My brother had his done by Carpenter to and had a great experience also Thank you so much

Dr. Carpenter replaced both of my knees at the same time about 7 years ago. Great person, great staff. I had both ACL ligaments torn one had a Cadaver Achilles’ tendon holding it together. Woke up after replacements with out pain, first time in 25 years. Keeping leg strength up and stretching helps. Thank You DR. Carpenter

Had a procedure done where amount was not given to patient.. now a huge bill.. where if we would have known price before done, knowing that our deductible not paid yet she would not have had the procedure. Office response was we just assumed. You do not go from a $300+ bill to over $2,000 without telling your patient ... poor customer service and need guidelines to follow so this does not happen to other elderly patients. Two total hip replacements. So glad he was my surgeon.

I had left knee TKR in November 2015. Playing hockey again! I am 64 years old. Having right knee TKR in December 2019. I plan to be back on the ice within 6 months after surgery. Dr. Carpenter is the best along with his PA Rebecca!

He is a miracle worker. Dr. Carpenter replaced my hip 2 years ago, and I forget about it now because I am pain-free!! Recuperation was faster than I ever could have thought. I can't speak about him highly enough.

Dr Creg Carpenter did a total knee replacement on my right knee 4 days ago (2/7/19). I am SO happy with his excellent surgical skills and caring personality. He knows how to manage your pain with his protocol. I was off pain meds on day 3 and only need ibuprofen to get this swelling down. Homebound PT is going well. Dr Carpenter called me personally my first full day home to check on me. My knee is sore but already feels more stable and trustworthy. I highly recommend him and his team. Chelsea hospital met my every need with a smile on their faces. Great experience. Thank you Dr Carpenter for making my quality of life better! Dr Carpenter and his office have been wonderful during my two total knee replacements. Dr Carpenter explains things in a way that’s easy to understand as well as being compassionate. His P A’s are outstanding! There was only one person who I felt was judge mental, and difficult to deal with. I would go back to dr Carpenter for any other procedure I needed. I also recommend him as the best!

I tried to book with dr. Carpenter after seeing another doctor in the practice. And they told me I could not switch. I did not have confidence in a positive outcome with the other doctor after meeting him. And I guess I just didn't feel like we were on the same page, which is why I wanted to switch.

Total right hip replacement 10 years ago....perfect. Four years later, total left hip replacement. Not perfect. Left it 5/8" too long. Lots of pain for 3 years. Then the do-over by another surgeon. Now, I need total knee replacements and I want Dr. Williams in the same practice to do them and he won't. Some ridiculous "practice policy" of not sharing patients once you have a "relationship". REALLY? Had I known my options would be eliminated for life, I never would have started the RELATIONSHIP with Dr. Carpenter in the first place. Feels like discrimination. Had both knees replaced 5 years ago, no issues at all. Great job.

Had my right knee done first after having to leave the UofM. No one would replace my knee because I was "Too Young". Never mind, I was falling down steps, in a great deal of pain and living on pain medication! Dr. Carpenter commented that he had replaced knees that looked far better than mine and proceeded to replace my right knee on my schedule, not his! 6 months later I was back in and had my left knee done. I was back to work both times, lickity split! Got great results and a quick turnaround! Not only did he do great work, but his staff was excellent as were the folks at the Chelsea Hospital! Can't say enough good things about them! I would recommend both Dr. Carpenter, his staff and the team at Chelsea to anyone who wanted to have their knee replaced! I had a full knee replacement on 6/29/17. Dr Carpenter talked with me before the surgery, came to my room each day I was in the hospital, including a 5 am visit on his way to the airport on a holiday weekend.
