Dr. Crystal J Luke

First of all, the other reviews use to be correct, I had hesitations about going back to her but new doctor isn't available till October. So after going back to Dr. Luke I must say HUGE improvement, she actually took her time with me, she was very much informative, she listened to me and my concerns. A major difference from the last few years of being with her, I am very much considering keeping her as my primary again. The staff is new and the mean nurse who I know everyone else is referencing was not there. I only thought it would be fair to post this seeing as she has greatly improved and everyone deserves second chances so to speak. This doctor is very unprofessional including her staff. Everyone there is very rude and not friendly at all. Dr Luke did not listen to my concerns and kept talking over me. She made me feel very uncomfortable like I couldn’t speak about what was going on with me she just kept talking over me and cutting me off. I’ve been having symptoms and she said come back in 4 weeks if it’s still happening I’ll refer you to a specialist. Then 4 weeks went by she said come back in 6 weeks if it’s still happening I’ll refer you. 6 weeks go by it’s still happening she says come back in 3 months. Wasting my time for a 5 min appointment. She just keeps pushing anxiety medication on me when I’ve made it clear I’m not interested. I’m switching doctors immediately worst doctor if I could give negative stars I would. Terrible experience. Took over a month to get my previous medical records from my prior doctor and requested them completely wrong where I myself had to then go and request them just to find out that she won’t even refill my prescription I need “long term” because she doesn’t monitor certain meds which she never mentioned before I went through all of the trouble to get my medical records over to her for this one prescription. My first appointment was today and I do not recommend anyone to visit Dr.Luke. She does not even introduce herself when entering the room (this was my first time ever meeting her) she cut me off numerous times when trying to explain my symptoms, and she also tried to prescribe a medication that has nothing to do with my diagnosis. If I could give 0 stars I would. If you are looking for a kind, educated, compassionate dr that actually takes time to listen to your concerns then DO NOT TO TO DR. LUKE. I had to change providers due to moving across town. I’ve been to Crystal Luke’s office a total of two times. The initial visit was great. Dr. Luke was kind , very thorough , and informative. I did get a small whiff of rudeness when I informed her of a pharmacy change that I notified staff of in the beginning of the appt but it wasn’t enough to raise a red flag. Well… yesterday , I went into the office for a 3:45pm and was not seen until 4:30pm. While I have no issue with patience, and did not mind, as I recognized how much time she spent being thorough at our first visit , my appointment lasted about 5 mins. It was very rushed. I did not receive the referral I requested due to symptoms I’m experiencing. And you can honestly tell that she did not care to look over previous medical history , or upcoming appointments, as she did not direct me to the right individuals regarding testing based on the blood work that had come back. Instead, I was told she suspected diabetes and given paperwork for something that I do not have, as the final results of ALL the blood work indicated I do not. My experience with her was very bad she is rude & very unconcerned for her patients. I’ve NEVER in my life been treated so poorly by an medical personnel I DO NOT RECOMMEND you seeing her for any kind on treatment if I could rate her 0 stars I would

I am horribly sick to my stomach and have pain in my ribs. Doctor Luke's nurse told me to lay down it's probably just anxiety and sense then I have been to urgent care got medication for a virus, got a test for covid even though that doctors office always thinks its mental thing. They stereotype and are a horrible doctors office that gets down to nothing. When I finally find out my condition I hope that I can sue them I am horribly sick to my stomach and have pain in my ribs. Very pleased. She listened, didn’t rush and addressed all of my concerns. She also made some great recommendations to make sure all of my needs are met. She’s great!

I went in to ask for a diet and exercise program. She prescribed drugs...I will try again...

Dr. Luke is the most thorough doctor I have ever had. I am 60 years old and have never felt so i formed about and in control of my health.

She was very stand offish. She ordered a bunch of tests that I did not need and already had a work up in December. She was rude and acted like she didn't care about me and what I was actually there for. I gave her a chance, even though her ratings are very low. It was a mistake. I'm glad that I decided not to stick with her. She also charted that I stated things I did not state. I requested that she change it and update my chart.

I knew I had an incompetent doctor at my first appointment where Luke walks into the examination room, doesn't introduce herself and immediately goes to the electronic chart for several minutes before acknowledging my presence. To make up for her low billable hours, She forces her current patients to come in when there is no need to see her. She won't refill a script without forcing you to come in first even though it's a standard refill. She held up two referrals for me because she claimed she was required to see me before I could see a specialist. After the 2nd time of her doing this I verified with my insurance who started Luke was inaccurate in this claim. . My complaint was neck pain But she spent an hour wasting my time by checking my stomach, asking me to walk on my toes and extend my hands. When asked what does this have to do with my neck she claimed she had to do it because she couldn't just look at my neck. Truth be told, she never examined my neck other than to tell me to turn my head left and right. She also got angry that I wanted to have a diagnosis before agreeing to any treatment. she had no clue as to what was causing the neck pain shooting through my neck and extending into my shoulders and lower scalp but expected me to agree to physical therapy versus seeing a physical medicine doctor who said they could assess the cause first. Dr Luke refused to give me an x-ray referral ONCE AGAIN delaying my ability to receive proper and timely medical services. To obtain the x-ray referral I had to make a complaint to Mercy Health System. Dr Luke consistently failed to read my chart. She tried to order a test for diabetes based on the results of a blood test I took over a year ago. It should be noted that I've been in her office 3xs since the blood work was ordered but she never thought to say I should have further tests??? She did the same with my mammogram. Despite having the test results With the abnormality noted in my mammogram she never read or discussed it. Instead she waits until St Anne's followed up to request an additional mammogram and biopsy. Then Dr Luke delayed my ability to get the biopsy because she claimed she had to see me AGAIN. Had she bothered to read the mammogram results when they came in and in her so called follow up appointment to discuss my tests and blood work results , she could have addressed whatever ’ she claimed was necessary. But no, she forces me to come in before she would give the biopsy referral only to then prescribe Vitamin E pills. (Need I point out that this has nothing to do with a breast biopsy.) Don't waste your time with this medical fraud. If you don't believe me check out her reviews on websites like Vitals. Mercy Health System needs to take her off of their provider list because her competency is substandard to Mercy’s commitment to quality. Dr. Luke is very caring, Compassionate, and thorough. She spends time with her patients and makes sure she covers everything and that you understand everything. Her staff is friendly, helpful, and they always get back to me promptly with any results or answers that I need. I couldn't be happier . Best Doctor I have ever seen.

I am very impressed with dr. Luke. I would recommend her for anyone. She is patient and very smart and caring.

Dr. Luke is the worst kind of doctor that you can get in today’s health care climate. Dr. Luke was OK, but, when I needed an x-ray, I told her secretary I would go immediately to UT Medical Center. Her receptionist told me: "Oh, no. Go to St. Anne's and they'll send the results right over." I assumed she knew my insurance carriers, so I went to St. Anne's. Well, St. Anne's is not covered by my insurance, and I got a bill for $600! I tried repeatedly to contact Dr. Luke to try to get her to (at lest) split the cost, but her office NEVER RESPONDED. Very good Doctor with courteous staff

I do NOT recommend this provider unless you like a rushed appointment. She spends very little time asking questions/assessing you. She seems to have a diagnosis in mind and listens very little. She shows very little empathy and behaves defensively when you try to ask questions. She is very unprofessional. She seems uncomfortable when someone does not blindly go along with her treatment plan. When I asked her questions she replied defensively "WHAT do you want me to do???" A patient has every right to ask questions in regards to his or her medical care. By the end of the appointment, I knew I needed to find a new provider. I have seen her about three times total and have never felt like she listens to me. I'm a fairly uncomplicated medical case too. I WILL be finding a new provider. Also the office seems a bit dirty. Dr Luke is nice. I always feel a little rushed at my appointments. Last time I went in they opened at 9am. I got there at about 9:10 for a 9:30 appointment and Dr Luke didn't even walk in the door until 10:30. A hour and a half after opening, with 9, 9:30 and 10 appointments scheduled. And I was given no reason as to why she was a hour and a half late.
