This practice should be avoided at all costs if you value your money, time, and sanity. Not only do they have unfair and malicious billing practices, but it took me over two and a half years to settle the billing issues caused by this practice due to their poor staffing, lack of responsiveness, and flagrant disregard for customer service and care. In early August of 2020, I had a consultation for an orthagnathic surgery. Soon after running into some insurance issues due to poor insurance claims filing on their part, this practice began billing me for these consultation “services” and incurring finance charges even though they assured me it would be resolved and I would not have to pay the amounts due. Despite these hazy promises, I continued to receive invoices in the mail for the next 2.5 years every single month, with each month incurring additional finance charges due to lack of payment for the costs I was allegedly not required to pay. I continued to call over the next years, often unable to even reach someone. You’ll notice that when you call their office and do not receive an immediate answer, there is no option to leave a message. For over a year, I received “voicemail is full” messages, and now they’ve changed their phone system to tell you to try again later and automatically hang up, with no other options to attempt contact. If you ask me, any medical provider that actively avoids their patients when they have issues is not one that is willing to provide quality and ethical care, nor one that is deserving to work on something as critically important as your own body. When I was able to speak with individuals at the practice, they assured me it would all be resolved and that they would call me back in a couple of days. Not once did I ever receive a call back; this runaround just kept going and the bills just kept coming. Even worse, sometime throughout this debacle, I received a call from the office that told me that Drs. Imray and Gesek were “breaking up” over some personality issues and they would have to refer me to another provider for orthagnathic surgery. So other than a tooth extraction which was fully paid by myself and my insurance, this office provided me exactly zero service that was able to be of use for the other provider they now forced me into transferring to. And yet, the bills kept coming. Today, February 13, 2023 (note the date of the first consultation), I was finally able to get the finance charges dropped. However, despite the fact that due to the practice’s negligence in being unable to provide the orthagnathic surgery due to their internal relationship problems, Dr. Gesek insisted that I still needed to pay for the consultations that were, from my perspective, contingent on being able to provide the service to which the consultation was related. I know the dental community is small in Jacksonville, but if you want to save hundreds, even thousands of dollars and years of headache, you need to act decisively to avoid this risk and find another provider. If I had not been so active in reaching out to them over this extended period and reading the fine print of their invoices, I’m certain that the damage done to my financial situation would have been much much worse. I can’t imagine how awful this billing problem would have been had I actually received a surgery from Dr. Gesek. I suffered financial loss, but it could have been much worse; do yourself a favor and don’t take that risk.

They have really bad communication. Called multiple times In a month. Receptionist would ask me to hold and would never come back to the phone.

Most horrific treatment by him I’ve ever had by anyone!!! I had 4 teeth removed and my face is still swollen, numb and it was done 8-10-2021!! Today is 5 1/2 days since then!! I was literally cross eyed for two days. Dizzy, fell, confused and so much more!!! He shoved my iv in my hand before telling me! I have a horrible place now from it! Then the apparatus he put in my mouth couldn’t be removed at all and I was trying to tell him my lip was smashed in between it and my teeth!! He took 3 very large vials of numbing stuff and jabbed it in my mouth before telling me what he was going to do!! More to this story and none of its good!! He charged 1725.00 for what was left of four teeth and I feel butchered!! Will be reporting it to my insurance and to the ADA!! I hope no one else ever goes to him and he HAS THE BEST STAFF EVER!! SO SORRY THEY HAVE TO WORK FOR A SO CALLED MAN!

My dentist referred my two weeks ago. I have called many times and emailed them and they DO NOT answer calls, return calls or answer emails. They also haven't answered my dentist emails.

All I have to say is don't waste your time. They do not call you back. I have been waiting for over a year to have my teeth pulled which most have broken in half and one tooth is completely gone with nothing but a black hole left. I am constantly sick and now I have an ear infection and my jaws are in pain.

We had a consultation with Dr Gesek for my daughter to have oral surgery. Everything went great with the consult. Due to medical conditions he required a medical release. No problem, got all of that taken care of. I called the office and left voicemails for over a month with no call back. I even sent a fax, email, Facebook message, and a message through their website with no call back. I finally had to select the billing department on the phone system and reached someone. The lady that I spoke to was extremely rude. My daughter is required to be given an IV before she has the oral surgery. The lady on the phone wouldn't even listen to me about not being able to do an appointment at 7 something in the morning because Nemours wasn't open to give the IV. I called multiple times this week trying to verify presurgery info and can't get through at all. No option to leave a message this time. I messaged through their website and Facebook to just cancel the appointment. I don't trust them!!!

Dr. Gesek was very polite and professional. But his staff specifically Monica was extremely nasty. I was there to have 4 extractions done. Soon as I was taken back I was turning off my phone. While in the process Monica rudely demanded for me to turn off your phone! I said I am, then my phone was ringing Monica said again I thought you turned your phone off! This is how your staff treats patients before you twilight them? By yelling at them? Really? Patients are nervous before having a surgical procedure. This is how you keep patients calm? I hope this review is read by the MD and management. So this will not happen again hopefully they can talk with their staff this is NOT how you keep patients calm before they’re having a procedure. My hope is this will be addressed with Monica maybe give her additional training by management or administration.

Worst dentist ever! I sent my friend to have a bone fixed in her mouth in December '19. Instead, he pulled all of her teeth out. After many months of not wanting to see her again she went back in today May 12th to get the bone fixed (still has no teeth) and he said she did not need the bone fixed. Our dentist sent her there because of the bone problem. I wouldn't take my worst enemy there! If there was an option of zero stars, that would be my rating.

This was the worse visit I had ever had with any healthcare professional. My daughter broke her jaw 2 years ago and is in constant pain. We were referred to Dr. Gesek and met with him. He came in and dismissed my concerns before acknowledging my daughter. He didn't even look in her mouth and said there was nothing he could do for us. He took an xray of her jaw as we were walking out the door and didn't even look at it before he dismissed us. He was rude and condescending to me and my 15 year old daughter and we left with her in tears. I am a nurse and I know a bad healthcare provider when I meet one. Then, 4 months later I received a bill for $300. This is alot for a single mom who still has to seek additional treatment because my daughter has something that needs to be repaired. I would leave no stars if I could.

0 stars. Orthogbathic surgery by Dr.Gesek. Three years later I have visited Several doctors (Surgeons, Orthodontist, Dentists, UF’s team of doctors) to repair what Gesek left me with from surgery, to no avail. I had an underbite ( class 3 malocclusion ) Gesek left me with an open bite, spaces between my teeth and all my molars not touching. Only my front hit each other. They flare forward out since then. Braces had to come off early and sent to dentist for Onlays. I was given composite onlays that wore down. I had to get 8 crowns on healthy teeth, currently in braces again. Four of five orthodontists were afraid to put me back in braces. Next step is veneers for my four front teeth to match the new height of my necessary crowns... There is so much more to this... I have spent over 35K trying to repair the damages... A local well known surgeon told me I was given a ”reverse smile” from the surgery. An attorney will only consider my case if I pay 50k upfront with a Dr who will testify...

office staff was very rude and unprofessional. then they took a month to get back to me with my out of pocket expenses so I could schedule an appt. I will be finding somewhere else to have my surgery.

He pulled my tooth and I felt nothing, but they gave me the gas late a do he chipped my crown next to the tooth he pulled. Signed all those waivers son ones that mean he shouldn't repair the crown he scraped? His bedside manner lacks, but I felt nothing which is a good thing.

Office staff was very unprofessional. Received the run around for about a month until I could schedule an appointment for my son. They refused to call the insurance company for authorization. I had to do all the leg work only to find out they dropped the ball. My son was scheduled for an appointment. I was surprised to hear the amount was different from that which the insurance company quoted me. I would not recommend this office as they seem to forget customer service goes along way.

Office a bit run down. Billing practices unfair. Over charged for copay. Billed me for interest while waiting for insurance payment. They knew insurance would pay because they got approval before doing surgery. Took a month to send my refund. Had the nerve to deduct interest.
