Wonderful Dr . He will go out of his way for a patient. Sometimes he takes a little long ,but it's worth the wait a busy Dr is a good Dr who wants a Dr that takes your copay if you have one sees you for 5 min and does nothing.
These is the most messed up doctors office in Sebring by far!!!! Took them 2 weeks to get my records and then said they can't except me as a patient. All I needed was a new doctor to fill my prescriptions. These people are TRASH!! DO NOT GO!!!!
Dr Daniel Montero was my mother’s physician for 19 years. At the end, I was so grateful that her trusted physician could be her Hospice physician. He provided compassionate care.
This is a terrible experience with this office of Mr. Montero, especially with the personal, I have been with no prescription and they refuse to answer to Humana Pharmacy request. I don’t recommend this Doctor
Very rude and unprofessional receptionist, she had my mom and me waiting for an hour and 30 minutes to let us know we didn't had an appointment when we have an appointment card saying so. It's time to look for another Dr.

I can't say anything negative about Dr. Montero, but I will say that an employee sitting at the front desk today, 12/16/19 at 3:39pm made me loose 50 minutes of my time when I handed her my sign in green paper. After 50 minutes and seeing that five patients who arrived after me where called, I decided to tell her about my appointment and that I was never called. She questioned me about signing in and I told her that I handed her the paper at 3:39 and that she actually extended her hand and took the paper from me. Her excuse was that she probably misplaced it in another patient file and that she was going to pull my file so that Montero would see me. I proceeded to tell her that I was not going to sit around any longer and cancel my appointment. This lady must have issues because from what I observed she was not friendly at all with anyone.

My Realtor suggested this Dr. In December 2018, I made an appointment and they told me to stop by the office to sign some papers to request my record from Miami. I went and filled out those papers. Weeks went by and they never called me back. I called and the nurse told me that the doctor had those papers in his desk to see if he would see me or not, that they would call me. At all these, I no longer had my medications, I urgently needed to see the doctor as soon as possible. I am an elderly woman, with serious health problems, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid, rheumatism and other ailments of age. As they did not call me and I felt bad with bronchitis, I called and the nurse told me that my papers did not appear. No, it was not the last straw, he told me that he had to go back to sign the papers. I urgently had to go to Miami, because they treated me as God intended. I think the doctor is oblivious, that his staff is so incompetent and that they are giving him such a bad reputation, also the lady who received the papers looked at me, as if I were a thing, not a person, tremendous rudeness, I think It's racism and good, because all the time I speak in Spanish. Another thing that this Doctor has to see is that only his nurse speaks Spanish, for God's sake !!.... he has to put other employees who care for his patients who speak Spanish, these ladies who are in front, none of them speak Spanish , when he is a doctor who attends in Spanish apart from English. He may be a very good doctor, but he has neglected his reputation. Too bad because I have been told that he is a good doctor. !! Soy una anciana, con serios problemas de salud, como diabetes, presión alta, tiroides, reumatismo y otros achaques de la edad. My new doctor sent a records transfer request only to receive a call stating I was never a patient. On the same day I received a call from one of the so called "nurses" from Montero's office stating "it wouldn't do any good for you to see another doctor". I called the main branch in Lake Placid and spoke with Joann who didn't understand why this happened. I asked to speak with Richard Campbell, the president of this incompetent group, only to be told "you can't". One of the receptionist is rude, but the nurses are great and Dr. Montero is a very great doctor. Would recommend him to everyone. He's very forward with great experience. Satisfied at every visit.

They never call to make apt like they said. So I call and when I tell her he's out of meds and NEEDS to get in cause they dragged there feet. All I get is "not my problem". Wonderful, caring physician! Takes his time, very thorough, we love this doctor.
I've been going to Dr. Dan Montero for three years now, and I have to say that he is one of the most caring and considerate MDs I've ever seen (and I've seen many over the years). Yes, during "snowbird season" from October thru April he is extremely busy. People can unknowingly quip that it's just greed, but that is not the case at all. It is actually his hippocratic desire to only help as many people as there are who need him. Yet at the same time he actually takes the time to intently listen and converse with each patient. Both my wife and I feel that as a doctor, Dan Montero, MD, is a rare gem to be treasured. We will admit that we feel as though he is our personal friend, even though we do not socialize with him, this is the way he makes you feel. Maybe that's why he sees more patients than any other doctor in Highlands County (a little know fact I found out) -- and maybe that is why his wait times are what they are. As far as his staff -- have you tried hiring sweet angelic nurses & office staff these days, who stay that way even after the most trying days with irritated patients? Please understand why I'm giving this unsolicited comment. Dr. Montero is one of the best, who we should be treasuring -- not trashing . . . I have visited this office twice now for appointments, the first time they were almost 45 minutes behind, I had to tell office personnel that I had to be out by 5pm to get my daughter from daycare. The second time, I was very ill and had called for an appointment, in which I was told there were none open, but they would take my name. I decided to go to Urgent Care in Avon Park, as I was signing in the the clinic, Dr. Montero's office called and said they could get me in at 4:30pm. I took the appointment. I arrived at 4:09pm and signed in, and waited, at 5pm, after listening to the front desk ladies cattiness about the phones and the patients, I reminded them I was still waiting and had been there almost an hour. The lady with the long grey hair just rolled her eyes and said the Dr. gives all patients the time they need. Finally at 5:15 the nurse came and got me, took me in the room to do my blood pressure, etc. but also informed me that there wasn't a room to place me in yet and I would have to wait there. About 10 min later she came and got me and put me in a room. I could hear the Dr. going in and out of other rooms while waiting. Then I heard the last appointment get moved to there room (yes there was someone scheduled after me that day). I over heard the nurse tell the mother, he will be happy to see you, you are his last appointment for the day. Now mind you the office closed at 5pm and by this time it is well after 5:30pm. I again sat and waited. When I heard the Dr. go into the room of the patient AFTER me at 6:00pm I opened my door and stood in the hallway looking for someone to give me an answer. Another nurse walked by and I informed her that I have been in the office now for 2 hours and did not understand what was going on. She politely apologized and just said the Dr. was busy. Another lady, with brown hair comes down the hall, I ask her what is going on, she stands and stares at me with a smerk on her face and just stands there, as I am "venting" my frustration for being there for 2 hours. She then in a snotty voice says, " what would you like me to tell you? I am not going to argue with you." I returned by saying its not an argument you leave people waiting for 2 hours, I could have stayed at urgent care for all this, the scheduling department should have never scheduled my appointment, let alone anyone after me, which he took BEFORE ME!" She walked away from me. I went back into my room, heard the Dr. come out of the other room and ask her what she said to me. I came out of my room and said she said NOTHING! Poor conflict resolution training and poor office staff. The Dr came into my room, apologized and said he cannot tell what is behind the door until he opens it, and he gives each patient the time they need. Then rushed me through my appointment in 5 minutes and put me on two medications. I picked them up. After being on them for 1 day, I was more ill from the side effects then actually the reason I went to the dr. I started researching the antibiotic, which is also used to treat people exposed to ANTHRAX! I called the pharmacy due to the symptoms I was having, they told me to contact my DR. so I called the after hours line and was told I would get a call back in 30 min. I waited an hour, no call back, I called again, and again NO CALL BACK. I do not understand, Doctors take an oath, to care for and look out for their patients. This man and this office clearly do not stand by that oath. Unless he had 100 patients come in that day, I do not see a 5 minute appointment giving someone there time, as well as the rudeness and cattiness of the office staff! What a horrible Doctors office!
