Dr. David Christopher Harkins

My visits and shoulder surgery, rotator cuff, went very well. I was fearful at first, but I also was prayerful about having it and did. Dr. Harkins was patience with answering the questions that I had regarding the surgery. He showed me pictures of what the surgery would include. I really appreciated his thorough explanation of all it entailed. My last follow up was March 27, 2023 with him. He was pleased with my recovery and so was I?? I would recommend Dr. David Harkins to anyone having a need for the surgery. The Athen Orthopedic Clinic in Snellville , Ga was a very excellent facility to go to. I went to the Physical Therapy AOC facility behind it. The Staff there were also excellent. My surgery was at the AOC in Loganville, Georgia. I commend the Staff there, especially those assisting Dr. Harkins with my Surgery! My regret is that I didn’t have the Surgery sooner. My fall was in March, 2022. I had the Surgery in September, 2022. Thank you Dr. Harkins

Dr. Harkins and Staff took very good care of me during my knee replacement surgery. Anything that I needed they were just a phone call away at any time. Very thankful

My shoulder surgery was flawless. From Dr Harkins in the operating room to Tripp in Physical Therapy, it has helped me fix my shoulder issues I had! Highly recommend AOC for all Orthopedic needs.

AOC is a great place for comprehensive orthopedic care. All services are available at the Loganville facility. This is so nice, not having to go to other places. MRI, surgery, x-ray etc. Totally impressed????

I had right rotator cuff surgery. This was my final visit. I really like Dr. Harkins. Patient, kind, and good bedside manners. This was my final visit. Due to Covid-19, I didn’t see Dr. Harkins every visit. Due to my background, I completely understand. Great Choice for Surgeons.

Dr. Harkins and the entire team at Athens Orthopedic are awesome! We have made a few trips to see them. Every time they ate accommodating and professional. They are the only place we'd go for any injuries.

Dr. Harkins is an excellent orthopedic doctor. He repaired my torn meniscus, and the facility and all of the staff I interacted with were warm, caring and very helpful.

My knees were bone on bone. I suffered ten years. I had total knee replacement, both knees, 3 months apart. Dr. Harkins and his staff were wonderful every step of the process. My knees feel great.

Very good diagnostic & surgical treatment, but most importantly, an excellent result.

Dr. Harkins gave me my right arm back. I had a total shoulder replacement and rotator cuff repair. I was worried that I’d be out of work for 6 months. Here it is just a few days shy of 4 months and I’m going back to work. They’ve takin great care of me. Dr. Harkins and staff at AOC are top notch. PA Tia is the greatest.

The first time I met Dr. Harkins was in 2008 when my 90 year old mother broke her hip and Dr. Harkins was on call at the hospital. He was compassionate and straight forward. The surgery went well. In 2016 I was experiencing shoulder pain. Dr. Harkins came to mind so I made an appointment to see him. After an MRI revealed I had torn my rotator cuff we discussed all options. I chose surgery and am glad I did. The surgery went well and because I was advised to start pain meds the day before, I can honestly say I experienced NO pain whatsoever! Recovery was right on time, physical therapy was excellent. It is now 2020 and at age 72 I have injured my right shoulder...sigh. We are presently starting the process to consider all options of treatment. If surgery is the best option for complete recovery then I know I can trust Dr. Harkins, and his excellent staff, to correct the problem. On a personal note, Dr. Harkins takes the time to answer your questions, is straight forward with his answers, goes over all options for treatment and does not try to talk you into any particular treatment. He just explains all options and outcomes, and lets you make the final decision. He is compassionate and treats you like family and is an outstanding surgeon who has earned my trust. I had a total shoulder replacement by Dr Harkins in Nov 2020. I had constant pain and burning in the shoulder for about a year prior to my surgery. I couldn't throw a ball overhand, swim, pick up my grandkids, or complete a round of golf. When I woke up in recovery, the pain and burning was gone. The only pain I had was a few days from the incision. Now six months later, and three months of PT, my shoulder remains pain free. I've regained almost 100% of my range of motion, getting back to enjoying all the things I've missed out on for years. I couldn't imagine the surgery turning out any better. Dr Harkins is a doctor I can really trust. I won't see anyone else for my shoulder condition.

Dr. Harkins is AWESOME! Sometimes it can be frustrating and tiresome going to Doctors. Mainly because as patients, we don't feel they LISTEN to us. They may hear what we're telling them, but they aren't really "listening" to what we're saying. I appreciate Dr. Harkins for LISTENING to what I told him I was experiencing during my visit. From my symptoms and exam, Dr. Harkins determined that I had a torn rotator cuff and needed surgery. My surgery was scheduled and I am so grateful to Dr. Harkins. I'm still recovering but my shoulder feels 100% better than it did prior to surgery. He's professional, he has a kind demeanor and he knows what he's doing. From scheduling to checking in for appointments, and becoming a patient of Dr. Harkins, it's been great. I don't believe I could have received better care.

My visits have been satisfying. We haven't had to wait, my scheduled appointments have been rather punctual. Being on time is very important to me. Dr. Harkins and his staff have been exemplary and professional. But they show respect and concern for all the patients

Have been trying for 48 hrs to get his staff to get my wife’s ins approved, she broke her ankle Saturday and today is Wednesday. The insurance person there has not even bothered to call us back and we have called numerous times. They have no feelings for anyone?? any could care less about the pain she is n!

Tore my meniscus and he was in my network set up an appointment with him after I had an MRI with my primary doctor. Didn't know anything about him or his office since I practice martial arts For over 14 years and wanting to get back to training I was very hesitant. I have two doctors that do martial arts with me one being an orthopedic surgeon but my insurance would not cover them. I have to say first thing that Dr. Harkins was a class act this being my first surgery I was anxious because I did not know what to expect. His assistant Nocona was there the whole time explaining and making sure I was doing well. Called before surgery and many times after just to check on me. It's been a week since my surgery and I am walking around like nothing happened. I also like the fact that the operation happened at a smaller hospital not as crazy as the large ones the whole process was calm and they took really good care of me. I would really recommend Dr Harkins to anyone who is active and needs an orthopedic doctor. I am beyond pleased with him and his team.
