My wife was in the ER a few weeks ago with pain on her side. A CT scan with contrast was done. She has had kidney stones before requiring a stint & was hospitalized for 5 days in state we lived at the time. The pain seemed to let off for a few days then came back. She went to her family dr who ordered another CT this time with no contrast. Her Dr called her & said she had a kidney stone & set up an apt with this Dr. He came in & asked why she was there....? Knowing her Dr referred her with a positive CT. He knew why she was there. She said she was in pain on her side & was told she had another stone. He said, " your not in pain." I was in the room & heard this exchange. He said their is no way your in pain its to small. My wife tried to explain her health experience with a kidney stones & her other Dr explaining her anatomy is very small ueratha. That wouldn't pass needing a stint & 5 days in the hospital. He wouldn't listen or examine her or treat her with a positive CT scan read by his own clinics radiology dept. He went got his lap top & said in fact I don't see a stone at all. He is not a Dr of radiology & said, " in fact I have no idea what they were looking at. You don't have one." He then asked my wife to look at his laptop screen & said , "do you see one? " My wife is a MSN with 16 years experience but is not trained as a Dr of radiology or can she read a CT. Just like the Dr who cannot read them. He then told her maybe you have a pulled muscle. He then said, "I won't charge you for today." My wife called the clinics radiolgy dept. Told them what happened & the radiology tech sent a message to the Dr of radiology trained as a MD to rperform CT's & read them. He read the CT again & said yes you do have a kidney stone. They are following up with the Dr & will get back with my wife. This Dr was unprofessional, short & dismissive. They are trained to do no harm. He did harm to my wife today without any quidance on how to aleave or pass the stone even if he thought it shouldn't hurt her being so small. Instead he became a "radiologist" & decided she didn't have a kidney stone after all & put in question the Dr of radiologys skill. Sad. Wont ever recommend or ever allow my wife to see this dr. again B
