Dr. Deborah Bowers

Nasty racist woman. I have never met a doctor who treated her patients so terribly. I doubt she goes around asking pregnant white women if the father is involved. SMH.

Dr Bowers has been my doctor for the last 3 years and delivered one of my babies. She opened a practice in a new location a year ago and even though fairly far away, I couldn’t imagine going to anyone else. She is the most honest, down to earth, empathetic doctor - Helping woman at such a special time in their lives was definitely her calling!

Dr. Bawers was the worst. I was in the er for endometriosis and my IUD has moved. She assessed me and was not professional or calm in her demeanor. Without fully understanding my past medical history she offered up a lot of potential diagnoses, one of them being cancer, and I don’t feel as though that is appropriate to cause excess worrying in a situation where my symptoms are related to ongoing, already diagnosed, medical conditions. She was wrong about everything having to do with endometriosis. She said most women don’t experience pain with it and that she would not take out my IUD even though ultrasounds confirmed it had moved and was causing excruciating pain. She was rude, condescending, and gave me extreme anxiety offering a differential diagnosis of cancer so haphazardly. My specialist and other doctor in the er told me not to listen to her

Horrible woman! deals with patients in a racist manner, and should not be called a doctor... Don't go there!

Exceptional physician, she is knowledgeable and patient. Takes the time to understand situations and is very competent. Her expertise and ability to connect is so crucial to OBGYN care in this area.

Dr. Bowers was the surgeon attending my c-section. After asking how I was feeling & my reply being anxious, she said "well it's my understanding this is what you wanted," to which I replied, "It is, the other option isn't something we're interested in." "You mean the way women have been doing it for millenia." "No, they wanted to induce..." She continued to make snide remarks with no history on my case, including that I was diagnosed GD, concern about the baby's size, and that my cervix wasn't favorable for induction and I was high risk for a C anyway... AND she had the nerve to bark at my husband mid-surgery after the anesthesiologist told him to stand up to peek at my daughter being pulled out. No please, just "Sir, sit down" At one point I felt like someone was sitting on my chest and she sharply stated "it's because your uterus is on the outside." Nasty, nasty woman. Avoid at all costs. I will be filing a formal complaint with the hospital. Disgusting conduct.

After a brief introduction and asking how I was feeling, with my reply being anxious, she said "well it's my understanding this is what you wanted," to which I replied, "it is, the other option isn't something we're interested in." So not only did she make a very a snide remark, but she had no historical knowledge of my case whatsoever to nature such a remark, including that I was diagnosed gestational diabetes, my OB was concerned about the baby's size, and that my cervix was no where near ready for an induction and I was high rush to end up with an emergency C anyway... Oh and she had the nerve to bark at my husband mid-surgery after the anesthesiologist told him to stand up to peek at my daughter being pulled out. No please, just "Sir, sir down" At one point I felt like someone was sitting on my chest and she made the snappy response that "it's because your uterus is on the outside of your body." Nasty, nasty woman. Avoid at all costs. I will be filing a formal complaint with the hospital now that I'm feeling better and am back on my feet. Disgusting conduct for a doctor about to preform major surgery in what should be a beautiful moment.

Dr Bowers has been my Dr for a while. She is a great diagnostician, timely, direct and solution oriented. I love her!

I love Dr. Bowers! She covers for my primary OBGYN when she is away or doing surgery! Dr. Bowers is warm, compassionate, honest and realistic. I love that she approaches medicine with me as a decision maker instead of just telling me her plan. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I absolutely love Dr. Bowers. She is very honest and up front regarding treatment options and setting realistic expectations. I love that about her! She is ALWAYS on time and greets you with warmth and a loving smile. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Bowers! :)

Dr. Bowers covers for my doctor when she is out of town or doing surgery in the hospital. Honestly, if she could be my primary OBGYN I would never leave her. I have seen Dr. Bowers many times for my annual exams and some other issues. She is the best. She makes you feel comfortable and guides you through the treatment plan making sure you understand all available options. I have sent my sister and my mother to her too!

I had a cesarean section with Dr. Bowers because my baby was breech. I had really hoped for a vaginal delivery but in the end, we had a beautiful experience. She used a clear drape so my husband and I could see some of what was happening (not too much!) and I got to see my baby right away. I really appreciate how hard she tried to make this a good experience for our family.

Dr. Bowers made my cesarean section a really lovely event instead of the horrible thing I had imagined. I appreciate how much effort she put in to make me and my husband feel comfortable.

Dr Bowers worked hard to give us the delivery experience we wanted with a family friendly cesarean. We had the window in the drape, she delayed cord clamping, my husband cut the umbilical cord and the baby came straight to my chest for skin to skin IN THE OR! She was the best!

Horrible woman. Terrible bedside manner. Tried to send me home when my baby was in distress. Other doctor had to intervene and I ended up needing an emergency C section. This woman should not be practicing!

Rudest doctor I have encountered in my life!!! Pregnant women need TLC not a cold hearted rude insensitive witch for a doctor!! No wonder she only gets 1 stars! That's too much for her!!!

I am a patient of the Loudoun Community Midwives (LCM) and recently had my second child. I had a c-section with my first child and was struggling with the decision to try for a VBAC or schedule a repeat c-section with this one. I met with another OBGYN before meeting Dr. Bowers and her approach to c-sections didn't align with what I hoped for in a c-section experience - especially a planned one! The midwives recommended I speak with Dr. Bowers. She is so warm and friendly and took the time to help talk through my fears of a c-section. In addition, she was willing to perform a c-section that included the things I wanted: a delivery closer to 40 weeks, delayed cord clamping, a clear drape so I could watch my son being born, a relaxed atmosphere, immediate skin to skin (APGAR's were performed while my son was with me), my husband even got to cut the cord! One of the midwives was also with me in the delivery room which was great since I had been meeting with them throughout my entire pregnancy. My recovery has been excellent, my incision is healing nicely, and my c-section was done in a way that I was starting to think wasn't possible. I am a midwife in Northern Virginia and Dr. Bowers is one of our backup physicians. She is an amazing physician with incredible knowledge, clinical skill and compassion for our patients. She truly believes in a collaborative midwife/OB relationship and always puts our patient’s safety first. She provides excellent, family-friendly care. When clinically appropriate, she incorporates delayed cord clamping, clear drapes and immediate skin-to-skin for our C-section patients—such an amazing benefit for patients in a midwifery practice. With bleeding in week 24, i visited reston hospital and this dr examined me with finger causing huge bleed afterward. I went on mag And were hospitalized for weeks.
