I find the office very helpful and pleasant to deal with. I had to find a new primary doctor due to a move. I found Dr Riester to be pleasant and kind. I have a lot of medical issues and she is very helpful and understanding.

My first physical she told me she did not believe me when I said I was a weight lifter because my BMI was high. Clearly she needs education on what BMI means. She then continued to tell me I was obese and asked where on my body had stretch marks. super rude and not relevant. won't actually take time to consider what it wrong. I approached her about several hormonal issues and she just would constantly brush it off as stress and tried to put me on antidepressants 3 different times when I told her I don't want medication. She will suggest one thing for your issues and if that doesn't work she does not care and will not come up with a solution, you are on your own! I seriously am damaged with how she talks about weight and body fat. She is seriously outdated. She also told me I would not be allowed to stop my birth control unless I chose another hormonal birth control even after I expressed my concerns about it impacting my body. She is an outdated doctor with an outdated attitude.

Excellent. Very thorough and takes the time to explain treatment plans. Makes herself accessible by phone and utilizing the practice portal. She is a breath of fresh air in comparison to other Dr's that are insulated by layers of gatekeepers that prohibit you from speaking directly with the Dr. She's a good egg! You can't go wrong with her.

The BIDHC practice in Wayland is absolutely the worst medical practice I have ever been to. First, Dr. Riester is detached from the patient, does not listen to the patient concerns, fails to follow up on patient issues and generally is inattentive to her patients. She also seems to practice a cookbook type of medicine and really does not dive into the unique circumstances of individual patients. I have been a patient for over ten years, and have grown less satisfied with each visit and appointment. i should add that I am in good shape and have few serious medical conditions, but I always leave my appointments feeling like a number and that there is no personal connection. I truly feel that I am without a PCP, which is why I am searching for a new Dr. The practice itself is impossible to deal with. When a patient calls for either an appointment or a referral, the patient is routinely put on hold for extended periods of time; I have been put on hold for over an hour. Zero Stars

Dr. Riester has been my primary care doctor and endocrinologist for over 15 years - even before she came to the Wayland Town Center. I can't say enough complimentary things about her. She cares about her patients and she and Leanne have helped me so many times with prescription issues, referrals, and just plain great health advice. I've seen some of the comments which talk about waiting times being long but the office staff posts the expected amount of waiting time for each doctor in the waiting room so they really are working to keep the office patient time friendly. I highly recommend her and am very happy to have found her as she is not only a great doctor but is also a great person. Doctor Reister is very thorough, and determined to help you get better. She listens to your symptoms, and works hard to determine the cause. I have seen many doctors over the years, and she is the only one who was able to determine the cause of my problems. Has called me on a Sunday to give me that results.

Definitely. I have found her to be patient and concise. No nonsense!

Rude and condescending, uninformed and insensitive. I told her that I am starting to plan to conceive and asked for her recommendations about fertility testing. She asked me if I am married and if I have a husband (!!!) as if I need either to become pregnant. Mind blown. She also cited "facts" about my concerns that are totally outdated and are not remotely progressive. Not a fan. She was curt and said neither hello nor goodbye to me. I do not know if people are used to being treated like cattle, but the interactions with her fele very impersonal and that is the opposite of what I am looking for in a healthcare provider. I cannot recommend her.

Been a patient for close to 20 years. Over that time Dr. Reister has consistently listened to my complaints, ordered testing when necessary, made correct conclusions about any diagnosis and given sound medical advice. Every time I listen and follow her instructions my symptoms and/or illness has eventually gotten better. To those patients who need coddling— she may not seem like she is listening sometimes— but she is —and she is trustworthy... and has been so far — precise in her diagnosis. Totally trust her

Absolutely ridiculous office. Made mistakes on my appointments twice. I drive a long way here to see the dr and twice the staff told me my appointments are wrong. I am a doctor myself. I have many meetings and I never miss one. Somehow this office can not get an appointment correct. I will not trust them for my health. Seriously can not get a medical facility to provide good customer service and take care of our health. Medicine is really going down. I will never allow this in my own office. Discriminative to patience and her staff is a reflection of that. Even with her specialty and “knowledge” I had to to get a second opinion by a specialist at mass general to diagnose me with a simple case of pneumonia and her foolishness as well as “better” judgment costs me more than money. Even with a complicated medical history I was never treated, tested or referred appropriately. I know this as a fact because my mother who was a patient of hers never had to wait 3 months for an appointment or 2 hours in the waiting room. I was treated so horrifically that I had gotten to a point where I needed my mother to make appointments for me and meet me at the office at my appointments as a witness to get mediocre treatment. When Dr Alfano passed she took on my dad very nice and very ❤ great Dr

She is one of the most compassionate, educated and attentive MD's i have had. I switched my husband over to her and she drastically changed up his regimen. Also, she is an endocrinologist and can treat my osteoporosis as well, without seeing another specialist.

Dr. Reister is an excellent physician with a thorough and expert physical exam process. Her communication of the what, why and consequences are detailed and information-sharing at the highest level. She spent a large degree of time with me, more than any physician in my experience. I find her support staff in Wayland to be uniformly polite, professional and highly concerned. She is very busy, a testament to her successful practice. I consider it a privilege to be her patient and find her a huge upgrade from my former concierge physician. I like her confident and engaged manner with a patient. She deserves nothing but the highest of ratings. Thank you. I find that Dr Reister listens to me and responds to my issues. I trust her completely

I was a satisfied patient of Dr. Reister for many years. I have followed her from Natick, to Framingham and now to Wayland. Patient communication while she was in Framingham was horrific - but I chalked that up to a very antiquated practice that she had joined. When she moved to Wayland to join BIDMC I had hoped that this would improve, even though she has now moved to a location that is much further than I would like to travel to see my physician. I have tried for months to get test information results via the BIDMC portal but my messages fall on deaf ears. Nobody returns my call when I phone. I am beyond done at this point. It's a shame, because she is a good doctor....but there is no point having a physician who is unreachable and does not provide good communication with her patients. Horrible horrible horrible patient management and customer service. (I have only visited her once at the new practice in Wayland but I arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment and there was NOBODY at the front desk to check in with during the entire time. When someone finally did show up at the front desk, there was a room full of people waiting....but they didn't even say "I'll be right with you or anything." I feel like I have stuck with this doctor through a very bad move to a practice that looked like it was out of the stone age... but even with a brand new office in Wayland....communication is terrible.
