Dr. Dennis Loyal Febinger

My son saw Dr. Febenger for a collapsed lung, he was in his early 20’s at the time. He was (is) also a drug addict. He was sober during this period of time and the collapsed lung had nothing to do with his addiction. My sons addiction however caused him to have a very low tolerance for pain - which made it super challenging to deal with surgery and the pain of a tube in his lung, he was ‘needy’ as the nurses put it. The day after his surgery (less than 24 hours) he was complaining of pain, the doctor was in the room, my son asked me to reposition his pillow so as i began to help him - Dr. Febenger reached down, grabbed my son by both shoulders, yanked him up out of bed and shoved him back down as hard as he could saying “get over it, you’re fine”! The nurse in the room at the time was in such shock she left the room in tears. I was paralyzed with shock and fear. The doctor pulled the tube from his lung with the physical attack causing a second surgery. We were subsequently threatened and warned not to speak about the incident. I had no proof other than the nurse - who wanted me to sue and said she would speak out - and later backed out as she was obviously also threatened. We were at the complete mercy of this extremely abusive doctor and hospital who protects their own and could care less if they had a doctor who attacks patients. I mentioned my sons addiction because Dr Febenger said he did it because he hates addicts, because he was one. Best part - and once again... nothing we could do. NOTHING. Wonderful experience. Staff helpful, and friendly! I was here for 9 days and everyone made my stay as enjoyable as possible.!!. Dr Dennis Febinger is an A+ surgeon. Top of the line and the very best thru portland , as far away as Seattle. I wouldn't be surprised if that included Seattle! He is caring, explains everything throughly and makes you feel like you are important to him! He's the best! In my opinion!! I am very happy that he did my surgery! The best Dr. ever so so so nice takes time to talk to you and he listens as well. Excellent surgeon I know he did surgery on me. Can't say enough good and positive about him. He definately knows what hes doing very experienced. I would highly recommend him and I would go to him again if I needed to. He treats you so kind and with such respect. Great Dr.!!!
