Dr. Derek Francis Papp

please get a second opinion!!!! Derek Papp performed knee arthroscopy (both knees) on my 21 year old son at my sons insistence knowing he would be bed ridden for several months. Derek Papp assured he would not need blood thinners during his recovery due to his age....until he collapsed in my arms with a blood clot in his lungs for which he was rushed to the hospital. my son who never recovered from the surgeries and as a result suffered depression took his own life at 25. if my family believed in malpractice lawsuits Derek Papp would never practice again!

Doctor Papp treated me in a Baltimore hospital for shoulder pain and weakness . He thought a rotor cuff surgery was necessary along with an additional incision to remove inclusions from a prior rotor cuff surgery . I trusted him completely and respected his opinion. He is a top quality guy for the job. I’ve dealt with a lot of doctors in the past including the one who did my shoulder the first time. I found him to be a good listener and a good surgeon. I am a tradesman who relies on his body to carry out physical endeavors to accomplish my work. As a carpenter my shoulder paid a big price and was in need of repair . Dr Papp took that job on and won the battle for me. I highly recommend him as a surgeon.

I was told by primary physician I needed a knee replacement and referred to Dr. Papp. He determined the procedure was not necessary and explained thoroughly what my problem was in a way that was concise and easy to understand. Very happy with his knowledge and demeanor.

Two weeks ago I had rotator cuff surgery performed by Dr Papp. While I am early into the recovery process, the results have been outstanding. They surgery was performed on an outpatient basis and went smoothly. I had no pain the day of surgery and only minor soreness since then. Dr. Papp's staff arranged physical therapy within a week of surgery and I am doing much better than expected. Time will tell, but thus far I highly recommend Dr. Papp.
