The office staff is very friendly. I really love seeing the doctor. Once I had an emergency and saw Dr Yeomans and she was wonderful also. I am glad I found this office.

Professional, friendly staff. Doctor examined my eyes & saw something behind eye that was concerning enough to contact my PCP. Ultimately found there was blockage to 1 carotid artery & may require surgery. No other eye professional spotted this, which has been developing for some time, so a BIG thank you to Dr.K!

She was very kind and caring and thorough - so much so that I will switch to her for Ophthalmology from whom I used to see.

The office and Dr. Are the best. I've been taking my 95 year young dad for the last couple of years now. The staff and Dr. Are so pleasent, helpful with all the medical paper work and appointments. Which are hard and long wait to get but worth it. She has not let us down, the doctor that is. Great parking.

When I read Mr. Keyes' review (below) I figured..."there must be more to the story". But the same thing just happened to me. I hadn't seen Dr. Karalekas for 5 years. I called to make an appointment, and they said since I hadn't been there for over 3 years, they'd have to treat me as a new patient, and I agreed to that. A few hours later they called me and told me that, since I had canceled the follow-up appointment in 2013, they consider me "transferred" and said I am no longer welcome as a patient. I felt badly for the office staff who was talking to me. She was all kinds of apologetic and could offer no explanation. I said, "so no one can ever cancel an appointment without being banned for life?" And she again apologized. Very strange business plan! Karalekas is known as one of the best in the business. The whole thing is almost laughable. Unless you're able to keep all your appointments, I suggest you look elsewhere. U P D A T E: Dr. Karalekas reached out to me to explain what happened, and said I could, in fact, come back as a new patient. I thank the doctor for straightening out this misunderstanding. Communication is everything! My first visit was such a good experience, I was disappointed when I was told I couldn't come back. But now it's all been cleared up. I've upped my review to 4 stars. Wonderful professional with just as professional and pleasant staff. Being a patient of this Dr. is a great experience. You never have to guess what is going on with Dr. Karalekas she explains everything about your treatment in detail so you know where you stand and can make informed decisions regarding your care.

I just found out I was "terminated as a patient" because of not rescheduling an appointment. They told me they sent mail to my home. When I received something from them, I called right away. They never called me to confirm any appointments (standard practice for any medical office). She refuses to reinstate me. It's not about patient care with them, it's all about business. I have ben a patient of Dr. Karalekas for over 20 years. I have always found her to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring She has guided me through successful surgeries with great preparation and follow-up. Her staff has been helpful and has assisted me in navigating numerous insurance issues. I have always obtained a timely appointment. I continue to see her and have and will recommend her highly. I have been a patient of Dr. Karalekas for 17 years. Glaucoma is a condition with no cure, just continuous treatment and I am very serious about getting the best treatment. Previously, I had been going out of state. Her office is well run with a friendly staff. I always get a call a week before my appointments. A typical visit will be an evaluation and tests by the staff that frees her to come in and discuss the status and follow up with personal checks. I am reassured by her manner (calm competence) and the quality of my care (my vision has remained normal over several operations through the years). She seems to stay up with the latest treatments and technologies as they have evolved in my time there. It's been my experience that the best doctors are not afraid of admitting that they don't have all the answers. She has been open to my getting a second opinion and recommended them if I have concerns. About 10 years ago, another eye condition flared up and she was able to fit me in that day. After looking at it, it wasn't her area of expertise and they got me an appointment with a specialist to evaluate it later the same day. This , to me, spoke volumes about their focus on my health.
