Dr. Domingo T Alvear

Dr. Alvear was so skillful, knowledgable, kind and compassionate during the pediatric surgeries I was priviledged to observe. I was pleasantly surprised to recognize his name when the 29th Ellis Island Medal of Honor was presented to him and thought this must be the same doctor who made such an impression during my years of nursing school at Polyclinic Hospital in the 1970's. So glad to hear of this honor given to him.

He saved my daughter's life in 1981. She was vaccine injured, on the verge of death and he stepped in. So grateful for his lifesaving actions on my firstborn. I'm sure he's saved at least a 1,000 other patients and will continue to help others in his retirement!

He saved my son's life and has done so much for so many! He dedicates a ton of his own time for the less fortunate and is a brilliant doctor!

This man has saved my life 40 years ago. I was born with gastrochesis. It was new then and he asked my parents if he could try something....40 years later I'm typing this. i would trust this man on my deathbed and i mean it. he's a great doctor!!!!

Be careful with this doctor. He might at one point was great, but not anymore, he still uses old method for surgery that in the end don't work. My son had surgery with this doctor the whole process should have had take 6 months, but instead it will take a whole year and a re- surgery with another team of surgeons to get fixed something he should had done right the first time. Always, look for a second opinion and don't believe what hospital staff tell you about another professional
